How to Break Sekiro (Fewest Boss possible)

- A detailed guide on beating Sekiro in the fewest possible bosses using glitches and skips.
Big thanks to Activision for providing a copy of this wonderful game.
By using various glitches like the bull skip, monkey skip, snake skip, and most importantly, the fountainhead skip, you can beat Sekiro in 8 bosses (9 if you count the mist noble) on the "severance" ending. Ironically this is less number of bosses compared to the shura ending since the fountainhead skip is only viable at the severance ending.
You can reduce it to 7 by using the chained ogre skip, but it only works on 30fps environments due to jump distance being tied to framerate.
Done on the most recent version of Sekiro : Shadows die Twice.

Also, people have pointed out about the Ogre skip but since its a 30fps skip I can't do that on PC.

it's awesome how, in spite of the fact that you need to have the mortal blade to reach the Fountainhead Palace, they won't let you actually beat the Divine Dragon without it
but you can beat Sword Saint without it.

@@EnigmaticMan I meant you execute him with the mortal blade after the fight. But you don't actually need to have the mortal blade on your back to start that animation, Sekiro just pulls out the mortal blade blade out of thin air if you skip bosses.
@@EnigmaticMan well actually when Geni brought him back from the dead, he brought him back as an immortal, since before we fight Geni, we can see that Kuro was wounded, so he took his blood and used it to bring back his grandpa as an immortal god. Also it says immortality severed after you kill him, i don’t think it would say that if he wasn’t immortal.

Hats off to this video man. I know its a year late but I just beat Sekiro and came across this video. From figuring out the glitches to the mods and hilarious editing of the video. Wow. Must of gone through hell and back to come up with this. Much respect

@@RichterVonFuchs wait, but arent you supposed to kill guardian ape to get the white lotus before you can even go to fountainhead palace? Meaning technically you shouldn't even be able to get to the divine realm without the mortal blade right? So it's even weirder that the game actually wont let you get the tears without the blade, since you shouldn't even be able to fight the dragon without it in the first place
You don't actually use the mortal blade on the first ape. You never unsheath it or get the immortality severed splash screen.
Now I'm super curious what happens if you use the snake glitch and then kill the Ape, does it let you without the mortal blade? Something I wanna test now. That said even if that works You need it to advance kuro's story and more importantly he needs it to cut himself so we can have all the ingredients to enter foutainhead palace. So it's not possible in normal gameplay to get that far. Which is why I thought that is neat cause despite it being mechanically impossible it is still a consideration in the quest line.
@@RichterVonFuchs hmmm interesting. For me, on my first playthrough i only fought the ape at the watering hole, and i did use the mortal blade on him for the "immortality severed" execution. I didnt even know you could fight him earlier. But i also went through the depths/gun fort super early, like i think i killed the corrupted monk before i even attempted genichiro lol. Does the ape only appear at the den after you defeat genichiro or something? Im on my 2nd playthrough and i still haven't figured out the trigger for it

But also TBF, even if you were to kill every boss you dont _have_ to level your stats at all. So the whole idea of skipping everything is kinda pointless in and of itself.
I'm not hating though, vid was entertaining and it's really interesting to see how these skips are done even if i dont plan on ever doing them myself

Realtime games are just turn based games with hundreds of turns per second. How do you calculate time independent of frames?
@@BrandynQuigley I'm not a game dev expert but I believe it can be done if your game engine has a clock object that calculates the real time between the current frame and the last frame. That way you can trigger events that aren't tied to framerate.

@@sullgames ya i think that method is more popular due to online multiplayer in most games, so having physics calculated server side independent of the host keeps things synced up, but sekiro is a single player game so it doesnt matter as much

I tried to use some of the skips and honestly thought that it's easier to just run the normal route...
But the snake skip is really easy to tigger and very useful since it allows you to skip the double gurdian apes which is the most annoying boss imo.
Saint Isshin is also quite easy if you upgrade your character normally, just firecracker interrupt all of his charged attacks
That fight is technically optional, you just have to get to the Sculptor idol after the snake eyes, in the forest, before killing the Guardian Ape. I always do that because that fight is not super fun.
Double guardian apes more annoying than Demon of Hatred ?
