Hope you guys enjoy this one! 😁Definitely one of the most fun videos we've ever shot! We've got a ton of improvements planned for the next Real-World Battery Test. But if you'd like to see anything improved, leave a comment below! 👇
This gotta be one of, if not the only one "most accurate" battery test ever. This is how battery is drained and how phones are being used. Unlike other TH-camrs where they just throw things at it until both phones run out of juice. Good video!! 👌You just got yourself a new subscriber. 🥳
Yeah it doesn't cover standby. For example Exynos S24 is better when you throw things at it but standby is a lot worse than S 23 despite having larger battery
it depends on many factors. screen brightness (when on auto it can differ), resolution, or amount of sync from email or social media... but nevertheless, very good review.
I remember you did this last year with the 14PM & S23U. I commented that you and your team have set the bar for battery draining tests. Awesome video, and we all appreciate the time and effort you guys put in for your audience 💯🙏
Yeah, they should just include it in the slider. Maybe the idea is to inform users that if you turn this ON, and you crank your screen to the max, you will be really sucking battery life. But that should be obvious. I agree, just put the extra range inside the manual slider and forget the toggle.
You didn't turn on adaptive brightness for the s24 ultra which is why the iphone was brighter - adaptive brightness makes the s24 ultra go to 2600 nits outdoors.
I was wondering about that too. However, if 2600 nits brightness was enabled, that would probably drain the S24U's battery faster. The washed out colour in the S24U is a known issue that Samsung has promised to issue a patch to fix by the end of the month.
This is the best and most accurate battery test videos, none of these laying flat on a table. Real world, with areas where connection will drop low especially on the trains and using it around towns and cities with higher density of connections to really test the WiFi chips and how it drains batteries. But both did very well I mean 9 and a half hours is more than enough especially as it was heavy use with GPS, Ubers, train rides camera and gaming. Also cool seeing Manchester as I’m from there, saw that dreaded platform 13/14 and knew the train would be late.
Everyone complains that the Samsung doesn´t have a more natural skin tone or more balanced colors, but the truth is that many edit the photos with Iphone to upload to social media while with Samsung you can upload them directly. Everyone wants natural photos but uploads artificial
I think Samsung gets brighter if you use auto brightness than a manual brightness slider and I think the battery is a lot lower because you videoed and took so many pictures if you didn't do that you probably would have had way more battery life
he said the viewing experience was better and more detailed in iPhone I laughed because first of all samsung has a qhd display meaning more ppi than iphone. Secondly it has a bigger and brighter screen, smaller camera cut out and finally it has an anti reflective display lol how is the iPhone better with a lower ppi, lower brightness, no anti reflection, smaller display and large camera cut out lol. I watch the reviews not to listen because they create their own narrative I watch them then decide for myself. s24 ultra all the way.
Everyone miss the point, the point if battery drain comparison which can only be accomplished by not using the adapted brightness. As it would adjust down the brightness in low light situations preventing the battery from draining more so, than the iPhone set for full brightness and the Sammy set for full brightness is the only way to accomplish this.
This is by far the best battery test I've seen so far. Way more realistic than them just putting them side by side on a table and running a bunch of apps. The amount of work you put into this video is very much appreciated. Keep up the great work.
Aside from the very informative test, I actually really enjoyed the Liverpool tour! Next time I am up in the north I will definitely check out the attractions you showcased.
That microphone on the S24U. Wow. When it switched over, it was very noticable, sounded like you were using a lapel and very similar to your mic you use with your main camera. Much clearer and less artefacts. Impressive.
I switched my s24 ultra to light performance mode and the battery life i have been able to get is insane. No downfall in performance either, i haven't felt any hiccups or the phone being slow.
@alonzoweaver7948 well i haven't felt the slightest lag lol. The new chipset is morethan capable for everyday tasks like browsing and handling social media apps. If i wanted to game then i would switch. But seems like you are stuck in a older phone convincing yourself you don't need to upgrade cause you can't afford it 🥲
Did that aswell, it definitely has some level of performance drop, but the battery life definitely increased quite a bit, I always charge my phone to 91% and charge before it drops to below 20% and even while doing that, I can get ~12 hours of battery backup!
It was actually on on both, at the very beginning. But they both started adjusting to different levels, then I ended up adjusting them manually to the same level (they may look different from certain angles, when filmed - but they were set to the same).
@@ZONEofTECH thanks for the fastest reply, on the video i see auto brightness off, in my s24 ultra i only can see better on outsite with that ON, when turn off and max (normal) brightness that dont have the max level 2600nits that does a lot of difference.

Thank you so much for this!! Can you please do a comparison of the new camera update releasing soon? It's supposed to fix some of the lower light inconsistencies and improve video across the board.
As an iPhone 12 user the thing that killed the most iPhone 15 pro max battery probably was the long video recording. With a 2 years old iPhone 12 86% battery health if I take a 1 minute video battery goes down of like 3% and it overheats when I use max brightness under the sun
iPhone wasn't bright. It was reflecting the gray sky above you. The S24 Ultra seemed darker because of the anti-reflective coating on its screen, so it wasn't reflecting the sky above as much.
I feel like this test should be the basis when considering battery life between the 2 flagships. This is more representative of how people would use their phones in real life as opposed to a controlled test.
As always great video! The only thing we need from Samsung is to adapt "Dolby Vision" for all Tv's and phones, There's no point in not moving with the crowd!
Should I trade in to the 15 Pro Max or wait for the 16 Pro Max? Currently have the 14 Pro which has 92% battery health after a year, poor battery life, laggy and buggy experience and stuttering scrolling.
5:30 The iphone 15 pro max is showing to be brighter than the s24 ultra just because it was reflecting the sky much more. I think it would be fairer to do that comparison if you were indoors with a much less or no ambient light at all. I would still applaud for the amount of work and as much unbiased means of getting this test done as possible.
man i’m an apple person and i personally own a 13 pro. 10/10 phone and will probably use it till iphone 17 drops but it’s nice to see that there is good competition between apple and samsung as usual and its amazing that u can take slightly better pictures with the samsung s24 ultra and better videos with the ip 15 pro max. And to top it off they have almost identical batteries which honestly at this point is buy whichever phone u are used to using more.
It seems like you don't know/understand how maximum brightness will work.. it doesn't work if extra brightness is enabled because it will only work indoors!!
Many people are saying the adaptive brightness feature enables higher brightness on the 24ultra, it does. also in terms of battery life is the ultra on 1440p? Also, after a week or more, the ultra optimizes itself. I have found that this increases my battery life quite a bit. It also learns patterns of app usage in the background and optimizes the ones that drain the battery.
I’ve watched a lot of these and the iPhone always lasted 10-15 minutes longer except for one other tester. These tests have so many variables so it’s not very easy to accurately test. They’re both so damn good nowadays it doesn’t matter what you choose to be honest. I have a 15 pro max and s23 ultra for my business phone and they both last me over 24 hours with 30% or so left over before I charge. Nowadays most flagships will give you the battery life you need.
Woah, this is very inpressive test! Well done!! Thank you so much for this helpful video❤ I definitely go for 15 Pro Max a great device with a good battery life:))

Thanks for the amazing video!
Out of the mentioned usage hours, how much SOT did you get precisely you remember?
This was an excellent review. I felt like I was there with you two. I wanna visit Liverpool.
Love seeing this format. Great job!
the best battery comparison ever with some sightseeing also😊 perfection Daniel! what a wonderful ending aslo
What a fun review! Had fun all through out the video. Great review!
man i’m an apple person and i personally own a 13 pro.
Samsung: we give more battery life by not processing videos Unlike iPhone
we prefer battery life over good, well lit, noiseless videos like in iPhone😂
It seems like you don't know/understand how maximum brightness will work.. it doesn't work if extra brightness is enabled because it will only work indoors!!
Simply activate adaptive brightness to achieve maximum brightness!!
Samsung just kill iphone in every component in this year , hats off Sammy ❤🎉
Many people are saying the adaptive brightness feature enables higher brightness on the 24ultra, it does.
also in terms of battery life is the ultra on 1440p? Also, after a week or more, the ultra optimizes itself. I have found that this increases my battery life quite a bit. It also learns patterns of app usage in the background and optimizes the ones that drain the battery.
Charger + iPhone = applejuice
I’ve watched a lot of these and the iPhone always lasted 10-15 minutes longer except for one other tester. These tests have so many variables so it’s not very easy to accurately test. They’re both so damn good nowadays it doesn’t matter what you choose to be honest. I have a 15 pro max and s23 ultra for my business phone and they both last me over 24 hours with 30% or so left over before I charge. Nowadays most flagships will give you the battery life you need.
So much effort
Really appreciated
Amazing battery test, I really enjoyed it. But no... those were not Neapolitan pizzas, and they definitely didn't seem delicious, ahahaha.
Great video mate, and thanks for your effort
One of the best if not the best battery life review, thank you for your work. 😊
Loved the video and the effort put into it! Great stuff
Gained a new subscriber❤ , great efforts
This truly shows how apple devices are deceptive with their battery percentages, especially at 100%. Whereas samsung is true and linear.
Instead of keeping the brightness at a maximum, should have kept them at similar levels all throughout.
NICE battery drain test! 💪🏾
2 uber would have done justice to the test
Kidding great job man, efforts highly appreciated 🙌
Great job for the tests!!🎉 I’m loving my 15 PM rn
Woah, this is very inpressive test! Well done!!
Thank you so much for this helpful video❤
I definitely go for 15 Pro Max a great device with a good battery life:))
