    Main ideas:
    1. There's no difference between your house and your being.
    2. Your environment is your field of being, your field of experience.
    3. Even if you can't control everything in your field of being, you can do something to improve yourself so you don't suffer more than you have to.
    4. You care, even if you don't think so.
    5. Sit in your bedroom and meditate for 10 minutes asking yourself:
"If I wanted to do this room better, what would I have to do?" It's a genuine question, not a command.
    6. Fix the things you do every day, they're not trivial, they're the most important things.
    7. Minimize the traps in which you can step into.
    8. Stay within your domain of competence.
    9. Setting aims reconfigures your mind around those aims. You see what you aim at, so be careful what you aim at.
    10. When you communicate, decide to listen, you may hear something you don't know.
    11. All you need to get out of a conversation is 1 thing you don't know.
    12. The exchange of truth is curative.
    13. Minimum precondition to engage in therapy.
    a) You admit something is wrong.
    b) You're willing to talk about it truthfully
    c) You want it to be better.
    14. If it isn't therapeutic, what you have is not a relationship.

And I don't dare to do things like cleaning my room, because if it doesn't show that I need personal assistence, I may wait another 36 years. I need someone to co-work with or to help, and ppl to socialize with regularly.

Ive never been to colledge. I dropped out in 10th grade and got my GED. Still, I never stopped my quest for understanding. Not knowing but actually understanding the human condition, spirituality and the social aspects of life. Dr. Peterson has reached me in a way, that has stirred my soul. I can actually understand him. Im blessed to have found hid lectures online. Its changing my understanding of the three issues that have I could never understand. Im filled with something I lost long ago. The desire to move foward and not give up. To not only learn but understand.

I was in a prison cell for 10yrs & every time I was put in SEG I'd write FREEDOM IS A STATE OF MIND, over the door. I'm now a Free man however still a prisoner until I notice I've been thinking, behaving a certain way. I know how Ignorant I am.
I am breaking a cycle of self destruction-self hatred, addiction to anything that will bring me misery. The inner seeker that wants me to be stupendous is much more audible, so I paint, feed birds & take photos, I know that I put good energy out, but am still self centred, I GET rewards, good pictures, love from a dog I walk & so this is my way forward.
The small things are massive, Thank you. I continue to listen.

This explains why my whole adult life has revolved around romantic relationships, how to make them work most efficiently, because my ultimate goal has been to be a wife and mother. I'm high in agreeableness too, always putting others first, and indeed it's most unfortunately led to my exploitation. Until Dr. Peterson articulated it, I never realised the correlation between agreeableness and the mother-infant relationship. It makes sense.

He's a man who treats everyone with respect and genuinely wants to leave his students with something better or at the very least challenge the way they think.
That's not politics, that's a man doing his damn job.

now get rid of the 5 bedroom house or you're going to end up cluttering it up again. and don't buy so much crap in the first place. next time you see a bargain piece of tat just imagine you owned it for as long as it would have taken for the novelty to wear off and send the money to me, everybody wins. i was cleaning my room and shitting and brushing my teeth every day for years before i'd heard of peterson, you can give me all that adoration as well, don't be shy. i'll show you exactly how to live. you see the fulcrum point of your whole life is in those little black crannies in the wheeps of your car, if you can make those gleam again then you're cured. you can buy my patent pending car wheel cleaning formula from my web site where you'll find all sorts of handy household hints. cure your ocd by dusting. cure depression by hoovering. go out and get a part time job to cure having too much time on your hands

  • @wesfin
    @wesfin หลายเดือนก่อน +1

4:50 fix the things that immediately stand out to you as needing fixing but you’ve been ignoring,
start with the things you repeat everyday.
Those things that you do/practice most constitute who you are, you are what you practice (most), your identity is found in your repeated actions/behaviors.
5:34 Extend what you’re willing to consider yourself. Extend your identity to the things you have control/influence over.
Your room is not only a representation of your psyche, it is you.
-If your room is a mess it means you have no self-control, no control over your own psyche, you gain control by addressing the issue instead of ignoring it.
-once you’ve mastered your room you can extend what you consider to be a representation of you further. Start fixing/cleaning up your body/diet, your work, your friends/family/relationships, your community, then the world.
But that’s the order, you can’t start from fixing the world, your community, your relationships, your friends/family, or your work, when you haven’t even fixed your room. That’s what it means to point out the speck of dust in your neighbors eye when you have a plank of wood in your own. Clean the immediate extensions of yourself “be blameless” first before you go about trying to fix others.

I just started the fix. Was so depressed for years. Now i'm allready making plans. Room cleaned first. now folows the rest. The road is long, and humility is key. Just try not to overextend from start cous you burn out. (as i tried before, way too much at once when my father passed, went even deeper in depression then ever). Just by cleaning my room and start planing to fix my health is an upper allready. Now lets grow the frak up and get our act together ;)

Experiences gone through by individuals are not different from their beings. To organize your psyche, you could ask yourself. “What could I do to improve myself?” Why? Because you are willing to reduce unnecessary pain that blocks you. Once you integrate your thoughts and emotion, and decide to act it out, your aim would reconstruct your world. Then, the world manifests itself as the place where you can improve bunch of things. “Am I aiming at the right place, or direction?” That is another good question to ask. You see what you aim at. If negative experiences manifest itself, there’s a possibility that your goal is inappropriate.

I broke off an engagement because my ex liked our house to be chaos. Her excuse was “everyone’s house looks like this”. On weekends instead of spending a little time and helping me organize the house she would go shopping with her parents so she could bring home more chaos. In other words material items that were not required and more importantly not used. It’s terrible to live in chaos in your own home when you don’t want to. I’m still recovering.

WOW!!! ....at about 12:20, I realized that the concept of TWO, (or more) people, putting their ideas TOGETHER, and working TOGETHER, toward a Common Goal, even though their on different paths, and different trajectories, with different backgrounds, experiences, resources, etc., etc., is akin to the idea of an Investment portfolio, having more than just one investment vehicle, (perhaps just one stock, or one bond, or one mutual fund, etc.), and by virtue of having multiple, DIVERSIFIED investment vehicles, they can EASILY LOWER their Investment RISKS, while maintaining, and even IMPROVING their RETURNS/PROFITS, at the Same time!!! .... => There's a lot of Wisdom, and GREAT TRUTH in this!!!

For Realllllllzzzzz!!! I love watching his stuff. I love his call to a higher ideal. Living your life meaningfully rather than just chasing happiness. But how he dissects everyday situations and explains how important and significant they are is fascinating.

Kane Alson I love that show. I got to meet the producer and talk with him often when I lived and worked at Starbucks in Santa Monica. I didn’t know he was the producer. Lol. And when I found out he was from Canada, I told him I really loved Kids in the Hall and asked him if he saw it. His cheeks flushed, and he said he produced it. I felt stupid and I said something like, well I guess you have seen it. But after that day, he became so much more open with me, and realized I had been genuinely nice to him the whole time. I moved away, and after I quit my job I started watching a lot of TV. I hadn’t for a couple decades. So, I’m watching something and sure enough Joe was on TV, I think receiving an award and I was like, that’s Iced Venti Passionfruit tea Joe! Actually, I ended up seeing many of my neighbors on TV and realized I knew a lot more “famous” people than I realized! Lol.

I have a riddle I think you guys might like:
A phoenix, a flask of poison, and Prima materia (Mangus Opus)are placed in a sealed box. I show you two words on a flipboard. Beauty or Chaos. What you choose, and you must choose, is conserved in the stone. You have all time in the world. What you choose is the soul of the phoenix (Anima mundi). What happens in side the box?

If you are going.to talk to me I nedd to be more or less one tthing, because if I am all over the place you will not trust my ability to express truth
Truth takes place when you align yourself and punch all of them.soul impurities
    This is what i needed
Not exactly the same.words but the meaning is captured
    Thanks.
