JBPeterson: I know that one of the things your PM is trying to do is reinstitute the metaphysical foundations of Hungarian culture. He might be lucky and succeed. My message to the Hungarians is that you should not rebel against your prime minister, he will resurrect the thousand-year-old Hungarian empire.

You may know this already, but always make sure that you are constantly recovering from your addiction and using each day to bring you further and further away from your last use. . If indeed you are an addict then you know that we never fully recover. Don't let yourself lie to you by saying it will be ok to just have one. To have a drink now. To take something because it was not my DOC. Whether relapse has been an issue for you or not is beside the point. Keep fighting no matter what happens. It ALWAYS gets better.
Look up James 1: 2-4 NLT and try to cast aside any religious beliefs and/or doubts and open your mind to what the verse truly means. There are so many inspiring individuals out there such as Mr. Peterson and use everything you can from them. But this verse, has changed my whole entire look on life.

I thought of it this way: that my environment is a representation of my mental state. I used to be comfortable living in clutter, and once i decided to take control over cleaning my room, washing dishes regularly, cooking, washing clothes on a schedule, life DID get better(as simply as i can put it).
I then took it to the way i spoke, not to use vulgarities, to speak gracefully. And then i controlled my eyes, to be conscious of what i viewed(no more porn, no more constantly viewing women simply by their sexual body parts). I think i’m turning into a monk
Update: i’m doing so well right now. I never thought i’d say this but damn, it feels good to be decently attractive; to actually get attention from ladies without even trying. But now comes the part where I have to learn how to leverage this instead of letting it ruin my character. Another 4 months of work!

This is really important. It's only recently that I've started applying this to my own life. I think I've had this deep rooted belief most of my life that not only was I not a special or powerful individual but that I wasn't even average. That I was so far below everyone else that I didn't deserve happiness because I wasn't born strong enough. So I gave up on everything. It's taken me far too long to realise I subconsciously allowed myself to lose at everything because I was afraid of putting my energies and emotions towards something that I might ultimately lose anyway. But that was an incorrect way of thinking about it because it's still far better to live a life where you tried your absolute hardest and lost than to have never even made the effort at all. Because although you might not have achieved the goal, the things you learnt on your way to that goal are just as valuable for the future.

No exaggeration here: Dr. Peterson's advice saved and changed my life. Even before starting medications, I took Dr. Peterson's words to heart and very seriously. I sat down and wrote everything he said and believed in it, and that truly saved my life because at one point, I realized I either had to kill myself or save myself. Thanks to this video (and a few others by Dr. Peterson), I chose the latter.
I now have a sparkling clean house, help take care of my siblings, and have a job as a behavior therapist for autistic children (it's my first job because I always knew I could never hold one down, but things are different now). I've only started working two months ago, but I'm constantly told I'm hands down one of the best employees they've had so far because of my dedication, commitment, and eagerness to improve. My hygiene is near perfect, and I now sleep like a baby! I used to sleep no more than 3 to 4 hours a day (for over 20 years!), but I now receive 8 to 9 hours daily, and I sometimes don't even need the medication anymore. I still have a lot to improve on because university is still a struggle, but I'm working towards that.
If I can save myself, you can too, bud. Best of luck to you.

Wow, very profound. I'm happy you chose the latter and that also means that each new day is a gift to yourself. I would love to know what you were diagnosed with and what medications you're on if it isn't too intrusive.
You also might want to check out Dr Wayne Dyer. He really is brilliant and a great speaker. One of the teachings I learned from him was that your history is just a story we tell ourselves and that we need to abandon that story and live in the present. That we need to live a balanced life of openness but without attachments.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Best wishes and God bless.

I remember once when I had been in a bedridden state of depression for weeks, I glanced at my table and saw a dirty coffee cup amongst the mess. I thought: If I go into the kitchen, wash that cup and put it in the cupboard, there is nothing wrong about that. It would only change the fact that there is a dirty coffee cup into a fact that there is a clean coffee cup, it would have nothing to do with who I am or who I should be, how bad things are etc.. I thought about it for a long time and came to trust the idea that washing that cup was the thing to do. I got up, went to the kitchen and washed that cup for five minutes, all the time telling myself there is nothing wrong with washing it. I went back to bed and thought of that one clean coffee cup in the cupboard, it was like a star shining in my darkness.

I had a headlight that wasnt working right on my truck. I simultaneously have an issue with my gauges like gas gauge showing correct level, dropping to zero and below, or pegging over to full. I thought the two were related because the head light worked sometimes. This is my work truck and sometimes I have to go out at night.
This was going on for 4 years and my routine was built around it.
One day I was bored and looked up a video on how to remove the light assembly. Turns out it is really easy on this truck. So I said "what the heck". Pulled it out, went and got a $15 bulb, put it in. Put the assembly back in and this is what became of $15 and 30 minutes of effort.
I dont have to transfer my tools to my wife's truck are night when I have the on call phone and hope I didn't forget anything. I pick up my kid from work after dark and my wife's truck is a beast and gets uber crappy mileage. Made the $15 back in less than a week using less gas. Dont have to worry about cops stopping me for light out coming home in winter because it gets dark before I get off. Recovered lost time I was using to work around this problem.
And so on. It made a big difference.
Didn't have anything to donwith the gauges though. Probably going to laugh if I find out it was a 30 minute fix too.

@Onetrick Beats bro Peterson is a charlatan and anybody could see that from a mile away. Him getting addicted to benzos just validates that. You can't be giving people advice on handling their brain and life and then take the one thing that makes it instantly possible to be fearless and not give a fuck. Perhaps he isn't this all knowing individual you think he is. Just watch him talk about politics or religion, he's clearly bullshitting, clearly that bullshitting also translates to his self help advice.

THE NEW ERA , of my life i started this plan yesterday i had it in my head until nearly like up to 6 months finally dealing with my perfectionism which literally didn't bothered me yesterday i don't know why though yup....this is about KNOWING SELF like i want to learn myself much better i think that helps me much better like what i truly like and i want to write about myself in chunks like i love music i love guitar i love dancing when i feel it strongly in my lyf like i want to even write my bad things like i get angered too quickly i am less strong not weak but less strong so on i think they will help me in my lyf to move much smooth in my lyf and the second one is BETTERNESS i want to be better myself like i take the things of my habits and correct them follow the way i want to do it my whole lyf which helps me to balance lyf way better i am doing write know example today i took my studies i want to master this habit of studying so i planned for whole lyf how i am gonna deal with it like i need to listen classes then need to study them and final exams i figured out this what i need to do in an academic year and i scheduled it like mon-sat working days i need to attend classes as per the school or uni schedules it and need to invest the time after getting back home on the classes like studying my classwork and textbook and them doing homework and assignment and when exam comes apart from taking classes and studying i need to revise for exam which i will plan when exams are near and sunday's are funday's and then any pendings or if i took holiday on working days i need to swap it here get done on this day yeah just like that and same goes if have any festive holidays if i am intrested in doing any study on that on i will do or if it is too necessary or else just enjoy day and yeah this how i made whole my study lyf already planned i actually work only if i have plan or else i just find excuse like its okay it's not mandatory blah blah i will work like this for first 1 week i want to know my natural strength and what is best for me and later for 21 days work hard like so perfectely according to the plan so that it becomes habit for me when i adapt this habit after some days i will take some time and go for another one SO THIS IS HOW MY NEW ERA OF MY LYF STARTED YESTERDAY GOING BETTER THAN BEFORE AND I WISH I WILL BECOME THE DREAM PERSON I ALWAYS WANTED
