Brian Alexander Morgan is an American record producer that was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, United States. He was discovered by Club Nouveau founding member Jay King, who got Morgan's group a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records in 1987. When his group's album failed to chart, they were dropped and Morgan was mentored by producer Robert Brookins.
Morgan was also labelmates with singer Chanté Moore at Warner Bros., but her album never saw the light of day due to Jay King losing the production deal over the failure of the second Club Nouveau album. Morgan- who had feelings for Moore- penned the song "Weak", which later became a hit for R&B group SWV. He originally intended to use the song for Charlie Wilson.
In the early 1990s, Morgan wrote and produced songs for Lalah Hathaway, Martha Wash, and Usher, among others. Outside of R&B, Morgan also worked in house music in the mid 2000s. Around the early 2010s, he was summoned by DJ Khalil to work on a few projects with him. Khalil's desire to work with him caused Morgan to relocate from Sacramento back to Los Angeles. Due to the move, Khalil and Morgan worked on Aloe Blacc's major label debut Lift Your Spirit.

Brian just as shady as teddy. He cheated on his girl while she was paying the bills to keep a roof over his head to concentrate on his music. You can't get access to make hit records without backdooring people at some point in your career. Not when then there is hundreds of thousands or millions at stake. Too many producers/songwriters fighting for album placements and singles and not enough work to go around to make everyone happy
The Right Here Remix is one of the best feel good songs ever.. changed my whole childhood when they dropped that song.

@@HalftimeChat I just checked it out. I use to think The Neptunes co produced it, because of the signature 4 count intro. That was before I found about Allstar. This has really turned into a big mystery. ....But I trust Teddy, so I will side with him.
How did a song change your childhood?
*That drum loop comes from the Dance expansion sound card for the Roland JV-80 called SR-JV80-06, assembled by a group called AMG. That's the information these producers like Brian Morgan try not to tell you. During the early 1990s, producers used these loops in a lot of their productions.*

Sounds like everybody added to the remix to get it to where it needed to be.
i think Teddy and his team added the Human nature element but Allstar came up with the drum beat which was replaced but still in the same pattern.

I'm telling you man... This dude doesn't like Teddy and is very dismissive of his contributions. There's an underline issue that he isn't saying. The fact that he's even dismissive about Teddy' getting the clearance from Michael to clear the sample is also laughable and then saying that the accusations against Michael basically meant that they didn't need to get clearance and that the song was good publicity for him... WHAT!?

Anybody who's ever composed or created music with a group or team of people, know that it's a collaboration . If you want to play who did this or that...That's up to you. As long as i get my splits i couldn't care less.
Any song that samples MJ is going to be a hit so nobody should take credit for anything. Rihanna's 'please don't stop the music' sampled, Jackson 5 "can you feel it" Never been a fan of RiRi But I like that song.
Hopefully we can get Teddy on here to see what he has to say.

The drums came from the Roland MDC-1 dance module. Whether Teddy had done any work for Roland making the sample is up for debate
Babyface called out Teddy a few times during that verses battle. He was like Teddy,did you right that? Teddy would say, "I did the remix" lol

Babyface called Teddy out on Janet Jackson's "I Get Lonely (Remix)", not the SWV song. And Teddy wasn't alone in working on the Janet song. He did it with Timberland. Personally I don't think he should have chosen remixes unless the remix was a completely different production vs. the original, and unless he was the only person who worked on the remix. "I Get Lonely" definitely doesn't qualify and SWV doesn't either.

If Teddy played the remix of DOG me out or Joy, then I'll accept it, but not the remix to someone else song. He's too big for that
Always good to know the backstory and the "real" producers behind tracks. Teddy is a legend, but the beat maker behind this "human nature remix" is dope, and dont forget Pharell saing S-W-V!!

This may not be about R&B but this interview helped me realize that there's going to be so many issues if Dr. Dre decides to participate in Verzus lol
I heard during an interview on the Breakfast club, Timbaland and Swizz said Dr was ready to go on Verzuz but backed out after watching the technical issues with Teddy and also the negative feedback. If Verzuz was better organized back then it would have been a much better showcase between Teddy and Babyface
I didn't know that Brian did some remixes for Dreamlover. That's was good for him, but David Morales took Dreamlover to another level with his remixes.
Teddy also played Get Me Home when it was produced by Trackmasters
As I said, Teddy had 30 original tracks that he could have played to beat Babyface.
I thought City is mine was weak, all the remixes.
He should have stuck with his hits and won
The argument that because Allstar allegedly did the beat Teddy shouldn't have used it in the Verzuz battle and claimed it as one of his songs, is weak (no pun intended). A producer does not have to create every facet of a song to claim they are a producer. The producer brings together the necessary elements (including funding studio time, session musicians etc) and manages the creation of a song. If the beef was Allstar got not credit when he should have, that's probably a different story. But that's not what BAM is taking issue with. To me, it seems like a bit of sour grapes on BAM's part due to another producer taking a song he created and making it a worldwide smash.
As one of Teddy's biggest fans I would have preferred Teddy using his own songs during the Verzuz battle.
I also think that the elements of Human Nature gave the track more weight than the beat.

@@HalftimeChat Mucho's been talking about this on the New Jack Swing 4 Ever Facebook group (NJS4E) for a while. He tells a very different version and strongly disputes BAM's claims. Personal preferences aside, I see no issue with Teddy using it in Verzuz.
I would have preferred Teddy playing a variety of his hits from Kool Moe Dee, Heavy D, etc. I have always bought a teddy remix and preferred it to the original track.
I'm still working on getting him on the show this summer 🤞🏾
@Error Report especially as some of the remixes became bigger than the original. I'm so Into you became bigger after the Teddy Remix and it might have taken the shine from Brian's good work
I don't see how bam would be jealous that somebody remix his work. That's the reason why they remix the song right here, to save it, it wasn't a hit, originally.
When the remix of right here became a Smash Hit, bam got paid, he got the writing credits.
So it was a win-win situation with him.
I remember Brian being lit up mad about Human Nature remix on Instagram after Teddy's Verzuz battle. He seemed more upset about it than Allstar lol. Interestingly enough, Teddy's name was removed from Spotify's version radio of the remix when Brian brought up the situation on IG last year.
Teddy's name was never on the mix, just in the credits along with Allstar and everyone else who contributed. There are multiple mixes for the song and credited per person responsible.

I don’t like Brain Alexander he never let Lelee or Taj sing but he made sure to sing on “always on my mind” with his average voice.

I want to know what Michael Jackson thought of the remix? I know it was on the Free Willy album under the MJJ label, but I want to hear stories about that! I was also disappointed with the concept of the music video....maybe because I wanted to see more MJ lol
I'm speaking with another one of the co-producers of the track tomorrow. He also worked with Michael Jackson with Teddy Riley. I heard Michael liked the idea and agreed to lend his vocals to the song which hasn't been done before.

Greed I feel , swv felt so kind of way to not want to bring him back . Even after the last 2 albums , they still didn't bring him back which was very peculiar
He came across as condescending and bitchy, I've watched 3 interviews and I can honestly say he's the only interviewee that I haven't warmed to.
It would be interesting to hear accounts from SWV and other people in regards to why he was blackballed as talented people are ten a penny in the industry, people also overlook personality when serious money is on the table.
He may also lack self-awareness, he achieved a lot but he's unlikeable sorry.

@@michaelajayi8546 Other interviews he admitted he was hard on SWV in the studio, especially on Coko. He is probably a perfectionist, so that type of energy will get you great results, but the backlash is exhaustion and frustration for the other parties involved. Ask Dr. Dre lol

I've always like the original "Right Here" better than the remix, a very underappreciated version.
The original version was straight up hip hop soul, s great track but easily forgotten about because of the amount of great music at the time

The original version of "right here" was not Hip-Hop soul, it was New Jack Swing.
New Jack Swing was from '87-92. Hip-Hop soul was from 93- late 90s. With Mary J Blige & others, the temple was much slower than New Jack Swing.

Why do you think SWV had to re-record "right here", the original version was new jack, it came out in 1992, and it flopped.
To be honest Michael Jackson's dangerous was the last great New Jack Swing album, it was never going to get any bigger than that point, in 1991.

Bands copied the Riley music's,guy's style of cloth.Even Aaron Hall style of haircuts!

Right here come out in 1992 , free willy come out in July 1993 same year as dangerous album which is 93 biggest selling ablum. The Oprah interview was 1993. And Michael and Sony was on good terms.
