When you first hear about the events; all the major players sound ten feet tall and terrifying. Then you see stuff like this and remember that this was a bunch of children playing at being gods and devils.

Spoiler Alert: Euronymous gets stabbed to death by Varg. There, a good way to ruin everyone's anticipation for the film when they have no idea what really happened irl or in the book.

Black Metal was always against the media, popularity, trends, parties and such things. As a matter of fact neither Mayhem, Burzum nor Darkthrone approve of this movie. It would be wrong to financially support those who are making The Lords Of Chaos, because all that money will be used to support their further projects (For instance, an instructional series by Vice on how to use different drugs. They already made an episode in my country talking about spice, how to make some weird drug powder at home and how to make a joint, it was aired on a national television quite a few times...) With that being said I am going to watch the movie out of curiosity (and to be honest I'm in a mood for this kind of teen drama stories sometimes, they make me nostalgic.) But I am not going to pay for it, for the reasons stated above. I finally watched it. For the most part, it was entertaining. I liked it. It may not have been factual, but it was certainly watchable. The ending was brutal af.
I'm so weirded out that they made a movie about this first of all. And second, that it's in English with non Norwegian actors. It doesn't seem right. It's weird as fuck. Imagine them doing this about a story from somewhere in Asia or something. It would be called cultural appropriation.

From the trailer it giving the impression that Euronymous was all poor and innocent and that nasty bad man call Varg came along and ruined his life. To be honest from what the other members of Mayhem and others of the scene at the time all said Euronymous was a total dick and very maniplative esp with younger Black Metal Bands. Ok this is just a trailer and trailers do lie, but it's got this vibe that it's going to be "Oh poor old Euronymous"...........but I could be totally wrong. It was a good movie. I just got back from watching it. Lots of haters don't know what they're talking about because they only came to review the movie instead of watching it. I respect the other black metal artists that didn't give the rights of their music for the film. They own their music, no one can commercialize their music and that doesn't male the film bad. It's about telling a story. Euronomous' character was well played based off of the people closest to him and not so close in which gave you a grasp of his true character. Dead as well. Varg, not so much but the story was well portrayed. Some stuff were added but the story wasn't butcherd. I love black metal and I was satisfied with the movie. Worth the money in my opinion. This movie is made in such a way as to push an agenda and a sensational fantasy about the people who were involved.
Black Metal was always against the media, popularity, trends, parties and such things. As a matter of fact neither Mayhem, Burzum nor Darkthrone approve of this movie.
It would be wrong to financially support those who are making The Lords Of Chaos, because all that money will be used to support their further projects (For instance, an instructional series by Vice on how to use different drugs. They already made an episode in my country talking about spice, how to make some weird drug powder at home and how to make a joint, it was aired on a national television quite a few times...)
With that being said I am going to watch the movie out of curiosity (and to be honest I'm in a mood for this kind of teen drama stories sometimes, they make me nostalgic.) But I am not going to pay for it, for the reasons stated above.

I finally watched it. For the most part, it was entertaining. I liked it. It may not have been factual, but it was certainly watchable. The ending was brutal af.
I'm so weirded out that they made a movie about this first of all. And second, that it's in English with non Norwegian actors. It doesn't seem right. It's weird as fuck. Imagine them doing this about a story from somewhere in Asia or something. It would be called cultural appropriation.
Maialeen Well, to be fair, there's nothing stopping a Norwegian director from making an accurate version with an all Norwegian cast. I guess an American director just beat them to the punch, regardless how lame or inaccurate it is. Sounds like the Norwegian world of cinema needs to step up it's game.

What is this crap. It's a "teeny bop" movie. Two black metal head teenagers coming of age story. 1 goes to far ,loses the girl, kills the other teen, & goes to prison.

From the trailer it giving the impression that Euronymous was all poor and innocent and that nasty bad man call Varg came along and ruined his life. To be honest from what the other members of Mayhem and others of the scene at the time all said Euronymous was a total dick and very maniplative esp with younger Black Metal Bands. Ok this is just a trailer and trailers do lie, but it's got this vibe that it's going to be "Oh poor old Euronymous"...........but I could be totally wrong. Looking forward to seeing it it's been too long.

Home Alone The Black Metal Brutal Version.
It was a good movie. I just got back from watching it. Lots of haters don't know what they're talking about because they only came to review the movie instead of watching it. I respect the other black metal artists that didn't give the rights of their music for the film. They own their music, no one can commercialize their music and that doesn't male the film bad. It's about telling a story. Euronomous' character was well played based off of the people closest to him and not so close in which gave you a grasp of his true character. Dead as well. Varg, not so much but the story was well portrayed. Some stuff were added but the story wasn't butcherd. I love black metal and I was satisfied with the movie. Worth the money in my opinion. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 🤘🤘

For those of you who aren’t very familiar with the Norwegian Black metal scene, I’d suggest that you watch Until the Light takes us documentary, because it’s gathered information from actual people who were part of the scene, this movie is just based on a book full of gossip and lies from non-witnesses

I think Varg wrote that he had a girlfriend, and that he threw a glass in the face of someone who tried to flirt with her. He was due for a court proceeding about this just before he was killed.
