Lead singer of Burzum? Burzum was a one man band. 'Black Metal is just an expression and appreciation of the depair most men feel from living in a world that is not built for them' - Varg Vikernes
This movie, despite the lies that were portrayed, is a good movie. No, the storyline wasn’t accurate at all other than the major events such as Pelle’s death, the church burnings and Euronymous’ death. But production wise and studio wise, it’s a good movie. The storyline portrayal just overthrows what happens in the movie. He also did say that they shot the movie in 18 days, it was incredibly rushed. If they researched thoroughly and maybe even gotten in contact with Necrobutcher or someone that was there (and gotten someone different to play Varg), it would’ve been an amazing movie and wouldn’t have gotten shit on as much.

I'm old school Metal. Honestly, what does it matter what Varg thinks about a movie he didn't want anything to do with? He didn't participate in this movie for the fact that he didn't want certain people to benefit from it. If he actually wanted the truth; he should've done his part in keeping it real instead of talk shit about technology.. Yet keeps using it as a tool to voice himself.
They aren’t eve showing the movie in most cinemas in Australia it’s so bullshit so I have to wait till it gets released on like a streaming service to watch it
Despite all the reviews, I went into this movie with an open mind, hoping it would give me something of a positive experience of some kind, and now, as I have just watched it, I felt an urge to write a little review myself. This whole movie is just meant to put Varg in a bad light, and represents Euronymous like some innocent young boy an a rebel phase. The ending scene (the murder) was just very poorly written, and badly acted. The movie, Lord Of Chaos is in general a very bad representation of black metal, and seems more like a parody, rather than a serious movie. The only way I can describe it is that it's like an episode by the TH-cam channel Overly Sarcastic Productions that just had a very large budget, but not large enough to make it entertaining. I have to think really hard to find something positive to say about this movie, but sadly I have found none. I really wanted this movie to be somewhat great, but as the credits starts rolling I realize I just have to count my losses and move on. Oh well, at least they gave the fictional fat-vegan-contradiction-Varg a huge cock, that's gotta count for something, right? Score: 2/10 burning churches. Greetings from a Norwegian viewer, who also happens to love early black metal as well as good fictional stories, and the truth.
Among the tons of mistakes they keep repeating, why the fuck do they constantly refer Varg and Øystein as best friends?! I don't think anyone involved with the scene has ever said that they were best friends?
I think it's less about them literally being best friends and more about how Varg idolised Euronymous prior to the church burnings and how Varg was hurt by the revelation that Euronymous was ultimately just a poser in it for status, which I think works really well in the movie in terms of the chemistry between the two throughout
@Sisyphos TM What evidence would he have had other than the word of Snorre? Varg wanted to get his contract signed and be done with the ordeal and thought if he could visit Euronymous when he least expected it then he wouldn't try pulling any shenanigans. He was wrong. Why are you white knighting for Euronymous anyhow? He 100% deserved what he got.
6:00, Jonas actually says it all right there. No one owns the past and honestly, he did a great job at giving Black Metal the true, real go round. The actors were great. Either way, if it was all fiction or not, "Lords of Chaos" is a great fucking film. Varg is off his rocker, meanwhile, Mayhem is still making good music with 2 of the 4 original members.
He may not own the past. But that doesn't mean he can lie about it without consequence. The character assassination of Varg is obviously a Hollywood conspiracy come true.
@@TranzparentMethods they need to talk to Manheim who knew Euronymous BEFORE mayhem even existed. Hellhammer kept the band going, but he's not an original member.
You know, visually, the movie was pretty good, it was entertaining even if it wasn’t accurate. I enjoyed it, but I obviously didn’t believe anything I saw in the movie.
ooo wo The album covers with “dead’s” suicide photo was actually bootleg releases. Euronymous took the pictures, but the band actually insisted on burning the photos but the photos were kept and sadly someone got a hold of them. Mayhem had nothing to do with the out bring of it. Look at the interviews of where Necrobutcher was genuinely upset over the photos and death of Dead.
Yeah but I can hear a slight accent to where one could assume he's from Norway. Whereas I felt the actors in the movie sounded like they were living here in the U.S. in the mid west. I watched the movie and I loved it and honestly the accents or no accents had no bearing on the movie at all. Well done! @@gregoryfranks5055
Inaccurate things bother me, but I don't think Varg deserved a better depiction. The movie was fun, sad, dark and that's enough. I loved what actors did with their roles.
The best parts of the interview is Rory and Emory joking with each and making banter, and Jonas being informational with his work. This guy obviously is just regurgitating what he watched.
They didnt really talk to the bands like mayhem darkthrone or varg they just made a film not a documentary and they really make varg the bad guy when in reality it was euronymous was the bad guy
They did talk to Mayhem. Necrobutcher initially refused to let the film use Mayhem’s music, but once they waved a money bag in his wrinkly Gollum face, he changed his mind and gave them permission. Also, Varg IS the bad guy.
I don’t wanna come across as an elitist or anything, but you can tell that Emory really didn’t do enough research for his role and you can tell that he really knows very little about Varg and Black Metal in general
So, according to this Cohen comedian, Kristian was just a little angry kid who wanted to be considered a tough guy, and that's why he burnt down churches and killed another kid. Ok, thanks for explaining things Mr Cohen.

@@Rokgnara This movie is made in such a way as to push an agenda and a sensational fantasy about the people who were involved. Black Metal was always against the media, popularity, trends, parties and such things. As a matter of fact neither Mayhem, Burzum nor Darkthrone approve of this movie. It would be wrong to financially support those who are making The Lords Of Chaos, because all that money will be used to support their further projects (For instance, an instructional series by Vice on how to use different drugs. They already made an episode in my country talking about spice, how to make some weird drug powder at home and how to make a joint, it was aired on a national television quite a few times...) Okay, and Varg in no way started out as a super fan
No, and this movie is not a documentary
@@madelene707 I mean yeah, but while I kinda agree people shouldn't take this too seriously, it's too obvious they just didn't really do their research. If they seemed to know what they were talking about and just went in a different direction, it would've been easier to swallow.
Lead singer of Burzum? Burzum was a one man band.
'Black Metal is just an expression and appreciation of the depair most men feel from living in a world that is not built for them'

WTF?!
We don't know what really went on so we just depict these people as stupid kids who didn't know what they were doing?!
Naaah, that's way too easy.
They all look way too young!
Euronymous was 25 or 26 when he died. Dead was 22 or so when he died. In the movie they look like they're 16........
Seeing non-black metal people discuss about the genre itself without any background or awareness is completely wrong

Vargs comment was great "... I´m played by a fat jew.." :) :) LOL

Euronymous was a bully.
You mean a sick fuck
@Sisyphos TM Euronymous was literally going to kidnap Varg and torture him to death while filming.
@Sisyphos TM He attempted to kill Varg resulting in his own death, Varg had no motive to kill him OTHER than self defense.

Like people who take the pretentious musical genre ''black metal'' very seriously and believe that they are the woke crowd
Varg is just..."different" 😏
He may not own the past. But that doesn't mean he can lie about it without consequence. The character assassination of Varg is obviously a Hollywood conspiracy come true.
Necrobutcher is the only original member of the band still around.
@@Amp661 Hellhammer is still in the band. While he's not their original drummer, he's been in the band since 1987.
@@TranzparentMethods they need to talk to Manheim who knew Euronymous BEFORE mayhem even existed. Hellhammer kept the band going, but he's not an original member.

"a bit of a sweetheart" meanwhile pictures bandmate's suicide, literally sends parts of his skull to people and used it as an album cover
ooo wo The album covers with “dead’s” suicide photo was actually bootleg releases.

Well done!

They were all the bad guys equally.
They did talk to Mayhem. Necrobutcher initially refused to let the film use Mayhem’s music, but once they waved a money bag in his wrinkly Gollum face, he changed his mind and gave them permission. Also, Varg IS the bad guy.
varg is a fucking n*zi. Obviously the bad guy
That throwaway comment about Burzum's first few albums being amazing has me curious: Is Camilleri a black metal fan??
I don’t wanna come across as an elitist or anything, but you can tell that Emory really didn’t do enough research for his role and you can tell that he really knows very little about Varg and Black Metal in general
Love how all the comments are from people who haven't actually watched the movie 😂
They knew exactly what they were doing putting a Cohen as the actor to play Varg.
Rubbish its room for burzum music , but true is Varg refused him music for thems same dark throne did too.
So, according to this Cohen comedian, Kristian was just a little angry kid who wanted to be considered a tough guy, and that's why he burnt down churches and killed another kid. Ok, thanks for explaining things Mr Cohen.

I urge you all not to pay for this movie. Don't buy it, don't watch it at the theater. If you are interested in seeing it, there are ways in which you can do so without financially supporting those who stand behind it.
Why ?
@@Rokgnara
This movie is made in such a way as to push an agenda and a sensational fantasy about the people who were involved.
They already made an episode in my country talking about spice, how to make some weird drug powder at home and how to make a joint, it was aired on a national television quite a few times...)
With that being said I am going to watch the movie out of curiosity (and to be honest I'm in a mood for this kind of teen drama stories sometimes, they make me nostalgic.) But I am not going to pay for it, for the reasons stated above.
If you are interested in further research upon this topic, you might want to check ThuleanPerspective here on TH-cam, he has a playlist where he tells his memories of the True Norwegian Black Metal scene.
You know where I can see this piece of shit without contribute???
