Fr. Last year, my classmates asked why we don't do math or pronounce stuff in math in filipino, then our teacher said "and hirap Kaya intindihan kapag tagalog, gusto niyo sampolan ko? Sige" and she said the equation in tagalog and everyone went silent. And she said "ang hirap no?" and we can all agree with that last statement 💀
The girl wearing a school uniform in your video 5:02 is not a teacher, she's a student. We do reporting in our high school. The teacher will divide the students into groups and each group will choose their leader secretary and reporter. The group will do some research, tackle, discuss and brain storm about their assigned topic/s.
School life is depending on the student. If you put your brows harder into your studies, you will missed a big part of being in high school where fun is inside the classroom. Most teachers are understanding of the students stress that most of the time teachers let the students get them loose and have a short break by interacting with them with funny jokes especially in between prelim exam. In my time, our Homeroom classes are the best part of our high school life. If you only seen the real school life of filipino high schoolers around before and thr now you will envied of it. South Korea's system of studying is too long that you came back home late night when high schools in the Phils. these days is either only in the morning or only in the afternoon and it is a far cry from SoKor's edu system where there's no real break.
I'm a Filipino, and some of them let the student cheat in exam for at least five minutes if they saw their student having a hard time. I don't know it is just my intuition, not the fact tho but that's what I feel HAHAHHAH
fun fact: some schools in the Philippines starts class at 6:00 am and students goes to school at 5:30, some students take a bath in ice cold water everyday
I am also a high school student from the Philippines, it sure is fun! But there might be some downsides to school if you don’t have specific skills like, responsibility, and everything else. But atleast you’ll meet new people and make new friends! Overall, it’s a good experience!
I miss my HS days I'm 30 now and my best friends now are still my HS best friends although we all have our own lives and don't see each other that much I can always count on them to be there when I need them. I definitely build a more strong friendship through HS cause of how much we been together through our puberty and go through same experiences while growing up. HS in PH is really fun even though studying could be stressful I am just glad that I have parents who didn't pressure me so much to be on top of the class as long as I don't fail or get really low grades then they are fine. I miss how carefree it is in HS compared to University days. I have so many fond memories during my HS days that whenever me and my friends get together and reminisce I still laugh so hard. Also during my time we end school at around 4-5pm and never had a class at night like her in the vid. We have homework though so still some studying at home but overall HS is really fun for me.
Same. I live close with my bestfriend of 15 years in the province. I went to work in Manila for many years before coming home and my bestfriend was the person who jumped around in happiness when she found out I'm staying. We're in our 30's doing the things we dreamed of doing together when we were teenagers. I'm glad I decided to return to the the provincem
I don't know if it changed already but when I was in HS, tutorial classes / cram school are for students who were a bit behind in lessons... it's the difference in Korea because from what I know, in Korea, cram school are for getting advanced classes...
They might be a senior high school student because one of their subject is research which they teach in senior high except if they are a science high school student
It's because we don't do Math in Filipino but in English. Same with our Science subject. It's hard learning Math and Science language if it's in Filipino. 🫣
No wonder the place/environment looks super familiar in the beginning, that's where my grandparents live. And the uniform got me thinking as well, "could it be... She goes to the same school as my cousin?" Turns out I was right lmao
Filipina high schoolers still have long skirts. Above-the-knee skirts is discouraged or not allowed especially if the girls are coming from catholic schools run by nuns. It's considered vulgar back then and probably still is. It would be met with disapproving eyebrows by old folks. Some schools even require girls to wear polos with long sleeves, very conservative. No make-up, lipsticks, and colored nails, nope. Hair should be one color. One girl wore her hair in different colors and got scolded. The nun scolded her and told her the hair should be in one color. The next day she came back with her hair in one color, but RED to the horror of the nuns. Well, everyone nowadays always wear perfume or cologne. Otherwise, one will stink because of the hot weather in the Philippines. Foreign students have to learn to use perfume also suitable to our climate.
Highschoolers here in Canada wear the shortest skirts possible that I wonder why bother with a skirt at all when it just skims the end of the butt curve. They do wear long socks though.
We were not allowed to hold anything 'cept a marker or an ibdex card (not copy, but keynotes of your report) while presenting. We did lots of memorization back then. We were also not allowed to have dangling earrings, just a wristwatch and simple earrings. Filipino students nowadays are lucky they can even dye their hair -- when I was in HS my classmate was suspended until she dye her hair black she colored it copper during vacation. And atleast two in my class got their cp confiscated and they need to bring their parents to collect it from tge teacher.
"The education system in the Philippines ranks among the best in Asia. That said, you may want to consider higher education in any of the other countries as they have certain perks and opportunities that put them ahead of the pack." Im sure Filipino students disagree to this. Like WE need to talk about this.
I am a Filipino but im good at english not in Filipino my class mates always say " Pilipino ka bakit mas bright ka sa English kay sa pilipino " and i said " i kasi maronong ako mag english " 😂😂😂 " bakit Pilipino ako na hindi naman ako maronong mag tagalog" but im proud to be a pilipino
Its actually funny that you thought of them as middle schoolers. Some high school students here look younger, im one of them. Im in my tenth grade but if i honestly look like i should be in seventh grade 😅 my friend said that and i didn't pay attention to it till my competition in chest. I played with some of the boys from another school and yeah, they were shock to find out i was in a higher grade than they are (they're tall and im like a kid in comparison 😭) so yeah some of us actually look like we should be middle schoolers.
No offense but everytime I watch HS life in Korean or Jdramas, I always find it boring and started cherishing again my HS life here in PH. My highschool life is sooo much fun! Pinoy HS is da Best! The Best Batch in the World for me (‘08)!! I lab you mam at mga kolokoy kong batchmates! 🤍
Yeah. They're boring and dark. Then, they have to go to special classes/academies too like math, taekwondo, english, etc which mostly tires students and gives them more pressure that leads to depression(just my thoughts😅)
I'm from philippines and really good we don't have to clean all the school only have to clean our own classroom and we have five student cleaning the classroom and for the day the first lesson is ap first and science and english mapeh math filipino esp epp and i forgot the other subject we have nine subjects but sometimes other one is the other teachers not coming on our classroom that means we have to move to the other subject teachers other in filipino are school time pag high school in go home is 12:30 or 12:00 in high school really fun because there's some teacher don't care that we're loud and using phone but not in lessons is really fun with can talk with our friends is good ni philippnes
Schools in the Philippines are really conservative, which why our uniform's skirt is really long. When you study in the Philippines, the length if your skirt must be below the knees.
Most PH schools consist of two or more curriculums. My HS have three curriculums in junior hs (middle school) and then 5 in senior hs. Usually, the Basic education curriculum start their school at 7:30 am (6:30-7:30 are usually cleaning time and flag ceremonies so that doesn't count) and ends at 3pm. But special programs start at 7:30-5 or 6pm. I was a STEM student wc is an advance curriculum so I had to wake up at 5am and arrive at school by 5:30 or 6am. Also, STEM students have research early on in their education and typically have 6 standard subjects (the usual math, science, etc) and then 3-4 major elective subjects (mostly science or math concentrated subjects). We do get cram schools or tutor classes but that's just for people who's grades are on the red or if we're in our final year and will be taking entrance exams for senior hs or college. Other than that, we go home by 6pm. But usually STE students are very involved in extracurricular activities such as journalism, sports, and student government. We're also usually the ones who are trained to participate in competitions outside of the schools so 6-9pm is usually for those activities.
i didn't enjoy my school days because my classmates were all nerds and geeks. i was one of those who survive school with minimum efforts. when we were 26 yrs old (10yrs after hs grad), we all gathered in a high-class restaurant somewhere in alabang. for ice breaker, i got a piece of paper with "LPG" written on it. i flatly answered C3H8 before giving it back to mr. organizer. seeing students enjoying their study makes me really envious :'( i wish i could turn back time.
Well this is math in grade 3 in Philippines 10x19=10x19 10x19 190 = 190 10x19 190=190 Next 10x26=6 (10+16 = (10x6) =(6x16). =I think 220 or 260 Have yall have something like this in grade 3

Too bad Suee and Hansol couldn't understand neither Tagalog nor English. I think they could've delved into the vid more. But I admire their Reaction though. They were great. Maybe in future you could use subtitles for your guest hosts. Thanks so much.🙏😍
Currently high school and all my friends are always too hyper, that's basically Filipino's class life, everyone is hyper and fresh but still hates it when it's math time....🤔🤭
my school in Philippines is actually advance cause were already learning things from high school even if were still in primary but our teachers let us sleep during class to because we always have to wake up early 5:00 am to 4:30

I think most filipinos are used to speaking in english rather than speaking full tagalog. We just cant recognize the tagalog words so when speaking we do taglish 🥲🥲
I did not go to cram school (tutorial classes) after school. hahahaha. my after school activity was sports.. either I go to my Archery class or my Arnis/Eskrima session.
At my time, high school kids are too young that is why college life is more enjoyable around the age of 16/17 to 20/21. But now, high school is around the age of 16/17 to 18, everyone is at the age of "dece" like the college years of my time.
If we will do math in Filipino and not in English I'd rather quit school 🤣
Hahahahahaha
For real hahaha

They're talking about the clip before her reporting. There was a teacher wearing a pink uniform.

studying in Philippines is fun, less pressure, more freedom, we really don't have take extra classes outside the school.
That's not Philippines 😭😭 WHERE DO YOU LIVE*@^# im from the philippines but everything you just said is the opposite for me 😭😭😭😭
Less pressure?? You sure????
It’s pretty much the same but the cram school they go to what differs😂
If you have a kind teacher you will be given remedial and if you don't you fail and redo a year
Also performance tasks MATTER you will get rid of your shyness one way or another when in the Philippines
Education standards here in Philippines was so stressful so we students doing our best to still have fun despite of stress

Wow am sure quite glad that most of my grade school and highschool schedules all started at 7:30

School life in the Philippines is also fun 😅 there’s pressure but you can still have fun. I miss hanging out with friends after school.

we usually don't do cram school here. most of the time, students go out with their friends or go straight home after class.
