    Good job, Billy. I am still keeping my Mavic Pro and love the Goggles for exactly what you recommend.....let someone see what you are doing. One tip I can pass on is to lock the screen in full FPV view when handing them to someone else so that they don't accidentally swipe on the pad and bring up the menus etc.

      Are you using the latest version of assistant 2? Go to dji website, the. Goggles page, then go to downloads and then assistant 2, shud be the latest version. Also, there is a specific version of assistant 2 for mavic 2 that you get by going to mavic 2 page on dji website and then downloads tab the. Assistant 2. Hope that helps.

    At least it says there will be updates to the goggles functions in the future on the snapshot you showed us. Also, you can still use tripod and cinematic modes with the goggles, but just not activate it that way, correct?
    One more question, as I am about or sell my platinum and white goggles to buy an M2P and Goggles RE. Will the RE goggles work better with the M2P than the white goggles?any idea what the main differences will be? I heard from another TH-camr that the white ones would not work in 1080p with the M2 because they don’t support Occusync 2.

    DJI products and the fit and comfort to the head must be addressed, and I would like to see the heads used when they designed the Goggles and the FPV Goggles!
    I use a flex-strap connected in to a belt position on my back and to the back of the Goggles, so that they don't fall off over my face....

    Great info Billy. My goggles are being delivered today and can’t wait to try them although I’ll just be using them with the Spark for now.

    • @PhillyDroneLife

I'm just so use to using my phone now anything else seems wrong and uncomfortable for me. Fly high at first so you don't hit anything. It's kinda weird being all closed in that's why I say that... They kept loosing connection in flight. Screen would grey out and stop working then reconnect leaving me trying to figure out where I was again. Even with a spotter it was freaky and a huge let down.

    • @alexrothbard4324
      @alexrothbard4324 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whatup Sean. I am starting to realize that this is a huge issue with the goggles and The Mavic 2. I thought it was just me having this problem and I thought I may have a faulty antenna in the goggles but it seems everyone is dealing with this. It doesn’t make sense. The goggles re have dual band so they shud have better signal strength than the white goggles but that’s not the case. I used to have the white ones with my original Mavic Pro and had no range issues at all. I have called dji several times and stressed this issue to them as much as I can because for them to sell a dji/mavic 2 combo without it even working properly is just wrong. I think it may be faulty goggle firmware to be honest because I not only tried the goggles re with my mavic 2 and mavic zoom, but with my original Mavic Pro with the same result. I did try downloading all previous firmware versions all the way up to the current one and surprisingly that helped the range a little I think lol. But I’m glad people are starting to talk about this because it’s a huge problem with the goggles and mavic 2. I think a good test to perform would be to test the goggles with the original Mavic Pro and latest goggle firmware, then do another test with original Mavic Pro using previous goggle firmware to see if that is the cause of the problem.

    Hi Billy, can't find anyone anywhere talking about the fact there is no way to change shutter speed or EV from mavic 2 zoom controller while connected to dji goggle Original like you could with the mavic pro. I have also found that as soon as i connect my dji goggle to the mavic zoom my video feed start to degrade, nothing like the consistent quality i got when using my mavic pro with the dji goggle.Another thing i have noticed is when connected to the goggles the controller sticks are crazy sensitive, feels more like flying in sports moded. I just find it impossible to use the goggles with this drone, don't get me wrong, i love the drone so far. My problem is that i bought it assuming that it would be pretty much the same if not better than the mavic pro, goggles wise i mean. I gotta say i am very disappointed, is there anyone at dji looking at these issues and are there going to be updates in the near future to rectify them

    Billy, you did this whole video and didn't mention that the Goggles made by DJI (the same ones you have) don't even register the Mavic 2. I bought and tried it and didn't work Billy. I would imagine that would be the first thing you would mention if some update were required to use the Goggles. So, why would you guess that my Goggles will not recognize my mavic 2? Just wondering man.. It would have been so much easier if you just provided this information to begin with. Thanks Billy!

    • @andrewandron7087

      KLTHEMAN78 Landi they do work with the M2. You have to update the goggles firmware so you can select them.

  • @minirunt
    @minirunt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You missed several issues. First, if you set the goggles to view in HD (1080) then your drone recording is also set to 1080 at 30fps. No option to go up to higher resolution when recording or use more FPS. You are stuck at 1080 30fps on recording and googles. The only way around is to set the goggles to 720dpi. I would compare that view to putting your head a few inches from a 480 TV. Second, no dual band. I would even question if this is an Occusync. the signal between goggles and drone are now pushed down to only 2.4. No option to use 5.8 signal. I also believe that the goggles are not as aggressive in looking for better signals. This means loss signal and a lot shorter range. In my case I would lose or have a huge degrade in signal at 300 to 1000 feet while flying my Mavic 2. Without the googles, I would notice no signal loss. I noticed that my other drone, Mavic Air (without goggles), had twice the distance and less signal issues than the goggle connected Mavic 2. I would not recommend the goggles, especially if you are using them to do precision flying. The only advantage is they come in handy when flying in bright sunlight. No glare. I could fix that , and all the other issues above, by using my tablet, cardboard and duck tape, a lot cheaper than $350.

    • @vracan
      @vracan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      put all the ducttape and cardboard you want on that tablet the glare always there in sunlight- for me it's unworkable. And funny I went 2 km away and the signal in the white goggles was perfect! So not sure what's up with your's.

    • @minirunt
      @minirunt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DJI support told me to reload firmware, which I did and my distance improved, but that is what is reflected above. It was 300 max feet when before reloaded firmware. I was flying in a urban/rural area with the above area, and I did get much more distance when I flew in isolated areas. However, the signal strength greatly reduced of my goggle-flown Mavic 2. My Mavic Air (without goggles) had twice the distance and signal strength, even when in isolated areas. Several times I went to fly into a ditch/ravine only 100 feet away and would lose connection or have massive blur. Not safe. While the Mavic 2 (flying without goggles) rarely had signal issues, the Mavic Air had some signal and disconnects, whie the Mavic 2 with goggles had signal loss or poor visual a lot more, in the same areas. I believe the goggle signal is a lot more prone to signal interference. Even the Mavic Air, has a better signal.

    Billy, I am a newer drone pilot, 6 months old. I have now the Mavic Pro 2. My eyesight is bad when judging things farther away even though I have my glasses on. I just crashed and destroyed my Pro because I got caught up in phone wires that I thought I cleared. I REFRESHED/CARE: I am thinking goggles would be the answer. So my question is.... With the goggles, can I see really well where I'm at. I'm thinking that with the goggles, I'd be able to get very close up shots far away in the air without worrying about crashing because I can see so so well..... like I am on board the drone. Would you say that is a realistic perception. I've watch many videos and nobody seems to talk about that. Thank You.

    • @S-teamwork
      @S-teamwork 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that because you don't see the area where you are flying, you will crash your drone if suddenly a tall tree, building, power pylon or something similar appears in front of your drone. Bird attacks can also surprise you unpleasantly.
