    Hi, I love the video.. it's great. I know it's nearly 3 years old now? do you know if this drone will still work with the latest firmware and smart controller?

    Simple and straightforward. Thanks. I use the smart controller with my Mavic 2 Pro. Before watching your how to video, I was going to look up using a HDMI cable to link the two together since both have HDMI ports. Why use a cable when you can now connect the two wirelessly. I've watched some of your other drone videos, excellent work. I'll subscribe to your channel.

      I updated my DJI Assistant 2 with current firmware for both my Mavic Pro 2 and Goggles. Connected the Goggles, downloaded (uploaded?) and successfully added the current firmware Fired everything up, instant connection!
      Thanks and Semper Fly, Dave.

    How well do the goggles work with a smart controller? I have a Mavic 2 Pro and use a smart controller. Want to make sure that there isn't a issue with the two before buying the goggles.

    Great video which answers the question about being able to use the original white goggles with the Mavic 2. Does anyone know what happens to the screen view if the frequency automatically switches to 5.8 when flying? Should a person manually set the frequency to 2.4 if you are using the white goggles? Any comments about this will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    Are you still taking questions on this? DJI indicated to me today (7/23/21) that they are no longer making these goggles for use with the Mavic 2 drones. Do you know why? The Mavic FPV is out now (with goggles) but only comes with a one-gimbal camera. Why would they quit making them?

  • @eyck_8055

    Great vid. And yes, u can see it one both screens. But did you tried flying, booth devices, goggles and iphone working synchron when flying? Got the latest FW update and made it either flying through goggles or RC&App but not booth synchronised.
    E.g. one person with goggles, 2nd person on rc and DJI app 4 live. Till today there are very few documentations. It would make sense to link goggles for FPV Camera operations and flying by 2nd operator or the other way around. Thanks.

    Great video! Been waiting for a video like this for the mavic 2 and racing edition goggles. Do you see any latency or lag in the goggles when flying?

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve only done one flight with them and it was stunning. Until now I had only used them with my Mavic air which we all know the transmission isn’t the greatest. Of course there is a little bit of latency but it’s minimal definitely wouldn’t be flying fast through trees but overall a wonderful experience. I am actually going to be making another video in a couple weeks going over more in detail the experience aspect of it with the Mavic 2 and Ocusync 2.0 Once I get more opportunity to fly

I spent over $700 on these with Ocusync RX/TX for my other RC toys and am not too happy with the range... Will DJi give me a refund for them not performing or will they request me to send back for them to look at? Thanks!

  • @LarOfx
    @LarOfx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey, Thanks for the info video !
    I got my Mavic 2 Zoom this week and was disappointed I wasn't able to fly. Because I bought the DJI CrystalSky 5.5 table to fly it with. And its not compatible. So I'm sending it back. And my old Galaxy S5 is not either. I was hoping to fly FPV with the HDMI output on the CrystalSky to my Farshark Transformer SE goggles.
    So while on the phone with DJI tech support I ask if you could fly the Mavic 2 with DJI Goggles RE without a phone or tablet attached to the RC. And they said yes that you can. Would you care to try and is if that's really possible. please...! Cuz after the Big Purchase. I can only afford one a new phone or DJI Goggles RE. And I would be happier flying around FPV than using a phone. Since flying FPV for the last 10yrs. I can't hardly fly by LOS anymore.
    Thanks
    NelsonFX

    Something that a lot of people don't talk about with goggles is if using the goggles assists greatly with bright days often with the screen it's difficult to see contrast in bright light when operating drones in the sun. Any thoughts? Thx

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you make a very good point. There have been times I have flown strictly with my goggles due to bright locations And sometimes a sunshade doesn’t help much

    • @jasoncole2324

      Very true BUT in Australia you are not allowed to use Goggles as the primary operator, even with a spotter I am told by a CASA guy... so not sure how they are allowed to sell them. The Goggles are amazing for Sunny days yes agreed! So much better than the ipad and cheaper than the $1800 Crystal Skye. It would be good if DJI could put small cameras on the side and top and bottom of the drone to give more of a situational view through the Goggles. maybe V3? :-)

White ones do. Google for Mavic 2 & Goggles RE or research the DJI Mavic forum. Very nice tutorial and I'm sure the FPV is stellar but..... there's no way I'm paying $500+ for a pair of goggles. If I want to fly FPV I have a few pairs of goggles that are adjustable for my pupil spacing and distance as I require reading glasses. I then fire up my $25 Litchi app in Split Screen mode and put my Galaxy S9 phone in the goggles. I can then control most everything on my Phantom 3 and 4 models and ALL the needed settings on my Mavic 2 Zoom thanks to the customizable C1/C2 and D5 buttons. If I want to see what's in front of me all I need to do is push the button programmed to use the phones rear camera as a monitor so I never have to remove the goggles. Cheers.

Great video at a low level up to 300 ft including head tracking . Over about 300ft video goes blocky greyscale and RC abruptly disconnects from Drone. When goggles were turned off R/C reconnects and video restored to DJI go app within seconds. Tried reinstalling firmware, calibrating compass and IMU to no avail. Same in different locations.
