      Thanks so much ! I really get a lot from your videos . I own a Mavic and a Phantom Pro. I hate using my phone and or iPad because of the sun wash out. I was going to return them and get a Phantom Pro Plus with monitor. But after watching this I decided to get the goggles instead.

    To be clear its not a VR headset. For that the input source should have 2 different cameras. Also heavy and bulky to carry around. Otherwise can be fun.

      Charles Spidell, you comment on what you did not like but you did not comment on the hardwork he put in with all the other parts of the video, thats the problem with some people they do not want to give props but always look for a way to complain while they provide nothing of value to anyone else.

    Thanks Ed! I didn't realize you could switch the video recording mode into anything but 1080. When you try to on the phone it just doesn't give that option. So you have to do it on the goggles I guess.

Can I focus and geta sensible pic, I wonder Are u using just the normal Mavic Pro? Thats what I have. Just not ready to spend the big bucks, I kinda caught the Ebike bug around the same time. You cannot change the Metric to Imperial System....This could become a great Safety Issue for Height and Distance and Speed.....

    • @markbsb7176
      @markbsb7176 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Kaelin you keep mentioning this everywhere and anywhere.....what is your big concern? If you mean height, then before you take off take a few seconds to check the max you want to do in feet and convert it. Speed, well you know the max is 35miles so what are you worried about a speeding ticket? Honestly I am not sure what you are being so bothered by. And as someone else mentioned us folks from Canada are part of North America. P.S. we also use Fahrenheit so you must think I freeze when I go to Florida and try to adjust the thermostat hehe.

    Older people with near sightedness shouldn’t have a problem. If you go to Focus Fixers it explains all your focus solutions because the goggles have no focus adjustment just distance between eyes. Your reading glass prescription +1 is typical and gives you a prescription for sight at 9”.

    Rick...as usual, great work! Still waiting for mines. How do they fit to the face? People are saying Goggles don't fit great and they let pass so much light. If you've time let me know what you think. thanks

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! They're a bit heavy, and you can see the mark they made on my forehead after wearing them a while, haha! However, you can find pretty good placement on your face after a bit of experimenting. Putting on the headband first and them flipping down the goggles makes it easier to get a snug but comfortable fit.

    I heard you talk about the weight of the goggles briefly. How heavy are they? And does it hurt your neck after an hour of flying?

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The entire thing is about a kilogram or 2.2 pounds. It doesn't hurt my neck, but it does start hurting my forehead after a while. No problems for short 20-30 minute flights though.

  • @HermanGerber
    @HermanGerber 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, are you saying that with the P4, once you plug in the goggles there is no more video feed that goes to the tab/phone (as you are using that usb connection to connect with the goggles)?

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hermanus Gerber That is correct. There may be ways to get around that but I am unaware. The best thing to do would be to own the Plus controller model with its own screen. That way you could still have a handheld display.

    Now...For the seeing impaired (no vision in right eye) can you still see the left side as a full screen? I tried with another pair that used my iPhone and it didn't work.
    Thanks

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just tried closing one eye with them. It can be used, though not optimally. The eye piece doesn't display the full image in just one eye...there's a bit of the image cut off that is displayed on the other eye's image, and together they look seamlessly as one image.
      The little wheel underneath the goggles can be turned to move the eye pieces closer or further away, and that helps a bit with one eye. Still couldn't see the entire bottom left (or right) corner of the display with one eye closed.

    • @mikeladow1027

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about your P3P...if the controller has a USB out, it may. hard to say for sure
      The Goggles don't use HDMI for connecting to the P4P, just USB.

    Ed, great video. I just saw it for the first time today. I totally recognize the area you are flying in. I live and fly my P4 Pro V2 there all the time. Do you live in this area? WP? If so, I’m getting ready to buy the DJI goggles and would like to test drive a pair since I wear glasses to make sure they work. Would that be possible? Hey Ed.
    Awesome channel. Can I ask if there is any difference on the video streaming inside the goggles between mavic and p4p. Stuttering, smooth or laggy? I'm asking cause of the ocusync

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The P4Pro is a bit less laggy than the Mavic, but I think that's simply because it's connected via USB rather than wirelessly in the Mavic's case. I don't personally think it's any more smooth though.

    • @Stiandragland
      @Stiandragland 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ed Ricker Vlogs Thank you for answering, so the quality is almost the same. So the wireless option is the only thing i should think about. Trying to figure out if I'm buying the mavic or the p4p.

    I am blind in my left eye. Would it be possible for you tell me what it is like if you were to close one eye? I find some systems require stereoscopic vision because one lens has some data not on the others. I would hate to invest in it and find out I can't use it.

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Christopher, when I close one eye, I don't see the entire image. I see a good portion, maybe 90% of it. However, the other eye really picks up the rest of the image for a perfect uncropped view. It sort of stops right at the edge of your nose where your nose might be blocking your view when you're seeing in real life.

      Just happened to see this. I own the goggles and Mavic Pro and I’m blind in my left eye. I have no problems flying the drone and it’s much easier than a controller

    Ok well I guess that takes care of my suggestion from last night. Sorry but still catching up on all your awesome vids. I did find however that the cheap version of VR glasses works too. So for those who don’t want to drop $400 on DJI goggles I recommend giving it a try.

      Thanks! I paid $450 for it. A little steep perhaps, though it's a DJI product so very high quality in my opinion. Is it worth it to you, I cannot say.

      You cannot change the Metric to Imperial System....This could become a great Safety Issue for Height and Distance and Speed.....

    Once the goggles hook up, the Mavic pro controller loses its ability to zoom.

      How many users of this DJI Goggle will call a friend to assist everytime you would fly ? Come on !! I have returned this piece of shit....impossible to focus the screen to my eyes...when you are using normal 1.5 Reading glasses ...! Tried other combinations..no luck...i guess you must be under 25 to use it....😤. my Fatshark Goggle is fine....even without Reading glasses...👍
