7:04 let's get this kid a headlamp. From filming, to camping, to hunting, to hiking, to engine work, to doing random stuff outside the house at night, a good headlamp is one of the most under appreciated multi-purpose tools. Peax makes a solid one but there's a ton out there.
You may need to do the "I haven't touched this -whatever- in a year" it needs to go sift through. That's a lot of gear. A lot. My smile gets bigger as my gear needs get smaller. Beck has gotta be a huge help.
in the netherlands we have anwb. a breakdown service that is active throughout europe. if you have the most expensive service you pay about 300 euros per year. then usually within 1 to 2 hours a mechanic is on site throughout the eu. to repair your car. if it is not repaired on site you get a replacement car for up to 20 days. if you are abroad (in the eu) it has to be repaired in the netherlands. then it is towed to the netherlands free of charge. is this not something like usa.
@@PyroKalfje we have similar services in Czechia... it gets complicated with bigger trucks full of heavy (not to mention expensive ) gear. We had some close calls with truck failing few km from the base and we were able to return. Never luckily on the road a good maintenance and regular check up are definitely important.
I chuckled each time you showed (without comment) your loaded truck parked within close view of your restaurant table. This is also how I choose from all of my dining options when traveling in my minivan (customized for production use).
Omg your son is starting to look more and more like you, I've been watching your vlog for over a year now and I've taken a lot of your stuff as a reference for my work. I'm from Baja, Mexico, if you have a job nearby, I'll be happy to help you out in case you need it.
I really appreciate your work, but, for TV news, I think you could lighten your equipment. Did you considered the new Sony PXW-Z200? All in one in a very lightweight package.Pair it with a Sachtler flowtech carbon tripod and you're good to go. The Burano is absolutely overkill for this kind of work. Again, I really appreciate all the effort you put in your work, just my two cents.
Regarding the circuit breaker at the beginning, we have a saying in German that roughly translates to "who buys cheap buys twice". Proves true again and again.
Yep, go with non-Chinese marine grade electrics for your work van. Ironic that you don't have a magnetic camera mount for your vlogging, to give you 2 hands when you need it. Sad state of American car reliability. Another great episode!
Should think you will be busy, busy next four years with what’s happening by border? After seeing a Louis Rossmann video testing auto fuses, where I think a 2amp fuse did not blow until 10-12amps, I will not buy electrical stuff of Amazon, prefer bricks and mortar stores, at least some come back. Sorry to hear about van, must have felt a bit nude without it. Regards, Charles from UK.
Agreed. David, you need to buy something not made by Stellantis since they are about to go under. Your van seems to be your livelihood, probably time to dump the Dodge and get something better.

Having fully loaded vehicle failure on the road is my biggest nightmare.

Yes, so stressful. And then the decision to intervene or not.
@@CrankyCameraman Same, How many times I'm ordering to go holding a portabrace bag and my a/ b cam looking out the window!

Hey, thx for the upload. Did you change the wheels on that Rock'n'roller? or is it just another brand?

Which AA li-ion rechargables do you use?

What are you using to hang a tripod off the handle of your rock-n-roller cart?

Definitely heard PuttPutt used colloquially when referring to playing mini golf. Same as when people called Digital Betacam ‘Digi’.
What did you use to remove the oil slick on the concrete??
Zep 3 lbs. Instant Spill Absorber
