Hello Tony! The tool comes out of the factory pre-set for our keystone jacks. There is no need to adjust it. The reason for the lack of markings is due to the fact the tool only works with trueCABLE keystones anyway. The ability to remove the tool-head is for replacements if it should get broken or need replacement flush cut blades.
@@trueCABLE This is not true. I just got one of these brand-new, and was getting so depressed because every run I made was only getting 100 Mbps on Cat6A. Finally, my coworker (runs the cables for my company) came over, and he brought over a traditional punch-down tool. First try, and my keystones were getting 1 Gbps (I don't have 10 Gbps equipment to test that speed). So, knowing how to adjust this tool would be VERY USEFUL. I've wasted quite a few of my trueCABLE keystones figuring out that my tool isn't pre-set properly.
@@rfh1987 Hello! I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your rapid termination tool. If it is not pre-set correctly out of the factory, then it is likely defective. We would be happy to replace any damaged keystones and the tool as well, free of charge. We have a FOREVER WARRANTY, and we are quite serious about it. Please reach out to us at www.truecable.com/pages/contact-us and please reference this TH-cam comment and that you spoke with Don Schultz. We obviously want that tool back so we can diagnose what went wrong! You can also cut and paste my reply here into your message to us, and our Customer Success Team will know how to proceed from there.
@@trueCABLE Thanks! I did eventually figure out how to adjust it. I've got a few more runs to do (among other house projects). We'll see how it does on those, after the adjustment.
@@rfh1987 Hello and that is great to hear! I am sorry to hear you had any trouble at all but I am glad you got it figured out without having to delay your project. trueCABLE stands ready to make it right if things do not work out. The offer to replace those keystones is still open.
Hello! You can purchase our EZ Termination Tool here: www.truecable.com/products/ez-termination-keystone-jack-tool. Be advised that this tool will only work with trueCABLE brand unshielded punch down style keystone jacks.
Hello Mike! Sorry to hear yours is not fully flush cutting the wires off. This sometimes happens to me too. On thicker conductors some of the conductors will hang by a thin piece of the insulation that remains. I adjusted the tool head slightly downward which helped greatly, but be careful to not adjust it too far as it will stop you from getting keystones in/out.
It would be nice if you could leave the shielding in the center of the jack. I find that that adds strength and gives you a nice point to add a zip tie too on some keystones.
Hello John and thanks for the feedback. I am a bit unclear as to what you mean by "shielding in the center" of the jack? Could you please reference an example tool and/or keystone that demonstrates what you are referring to? TH-cam won't allow direct links outside of TH-cam, so a textual description will be necessary. Thanks!
@@trueCABLE I think he means the actual opaque white separator that separates each twist of the wires. Ive seen the ziptie method before. Not sure how your tool would be able to punch down the wires with it stil in.
@@JingleStic Hello! I think you are right, he is likely referring to the spline separator. As your surmised, our tool will not function properly if the spline separator is still present and entering the channel of the jack housing.
How do you ensure the tool is adjusted correctly with the adjustment screw? I don't see any markings that tell you when the adjustment is correct.

Thanks for the video =)
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video. Do you have a tool or a video to show shielded cable jack termination?
You are welcome. Indeed we do have a video for that. See here:www.truecable.com/blogs/cable-academy/ethernet-keystone-jacks-in-the-wild.
@@trueCABLE Thank you. I think those are either toolless or unshielded with a tool. I'm looking to do use a tool for shielded cable.
Mine works great but rarely cuts the wires. Is there a way to adjust?
