Nice crimper. One note that most people seem to miss regarding the pull string. The pull string has a purpose and is not really an optional step. After you strip the outer jacket with the scissors, there is always a chance you could have nicked the inner conductors. But if you use the pull string to pull a few inches down the cable, cut off the extra jacket (but the time without inner conductors in the way), you can then attach the connector without fear that any of the pairs were nicked. And no matter how many times you do it and have never had a problem, it will get you at some point so that reliability is worth the extra 10 seconds of work. Thanks for posting the video.
Hey Cody, first off let me say I really like the new camera angle and the lighting a lot, looks awesome! A few years ago you turned me onto this tool and I can’t thank you enough. I had just punctured my index finger on a job using the traditional punch down tool on a job. Timing then was perfect! I just did a video covering my top 5 time saving network tools, and the Vertical Cable Punch Down came in at #1. Have a great day!
I use Yellow or Orange patch cables to identify PoE lines and Violet for Video and finally Red from the modem to the router and sometimes uplinks. It's a LOT easier to walk a *USER* over the phone to look for colors and ask what the lights are doing especially if they don't know how to do a video call or hold their phone properly for showing what's happening over the video. Blue keystones for data is pretty much standard but I'm not sure where that got started at.
That is nice, its similar to the new standard RJ45 pass-through crimpers but for patch panel keystone jacks. Good find, would make those lot easier because some of the jacks can be a real pain in the butt to do.
I use this same tool and love it. I think you may want to look at the Epson label printers as they come with lifetime warranty and also save me a ton on label tape.
Thanks for this. Like a idiot iv used the wrong end of the blade facing in before. These look awesome. Hard to get hold of in the UK. Any UK folks on here that can recommend something similar?
So I rarely user passthrough RJ45 but if I do I use the Simply 45 Pro series. They come with the "Cap 45" which is a little cover to put over the conductors so they dont short out. What are the big difference from the shielded and the plastic?
I want to get one of these or the one from TrueCable. Good video Cody !
Which one did you go with, I’m also considering the TrueCable but as a DIY’er not sure which one will give me better results
Thanks.
Who do you typically like buying Vertical Cable vmax keystone jacks from in Canada? I can't seem to find anyone listing CAT 6A shielded.
TDL Canada , or Amazon

Using the cable matters punch tool and low profile jacks is painful.
