God, I love this song! I miss that great '80's energy
I worked with Paul for several years, I was there when he died between shows with the SAS band and also worked on his tribute show at the Manchester Apollo. He was a proper nice guy and such a talented vocalist. He will never be forgotten because we will keep his name alive!

Absolutely George!!! Paul had a very special gift and unfortunately along with other greats, like Freddie Mercury and George Michael, was taken from us far too soon. I miss him and his amazing voice.
Good singer but it was Paul Carrack that wrote the songs. A lot of hits were written by him but no one realises. Paul Carrack is one of the guitarists in the vid
Mike Rutherford wrote this song along with Christopher Neil (who also produced) while Paul Young was lead singer. That's why it sounds so good and better than the no-talent crap some people call "music" being churned out today. *** Rutherford said of Young, "He had a fantastic voice, one of the best rock voices of his generation ... a complete natural." *** He's right!

I'm listening and it's 2024 absolutely superb song
This song reminds me of the girl in my first relationship. We knew each other from highschool and were 16 in 2006 when we fell in love and started a relationship.
She lived with her parents and after I brought her home and drove through the night city alone in my car I always listened to a local radio station that played 80s hits.
It was a very beautiful but turbulent relationship. We separated after 5 years and went our own ways.
We met again a few times in our late twenties. We got off once and I realized that I still had very strong feelings for her. I wanted to stay with her for the rest of my life.
But she clearly signaled to me that she wanted me only a more friendly level. That wasn't enough for me and we parted ways again.
A few days ago I discovered photos of her on social media: she in a white dress and with a bouquet of flowers. He in military uniform.
I felt a slight pang in my heart.

What an incredible song!!! It helps anyone to stop and smell the roses and realize that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and to appreciate what you have!!! You never realize a good thing until it's gone, but that's when it's usually to late!!! If you have a good woman or man, treat them well, but if you are abused and not appreciated definitely get out, as usually that type never changes!!! Narcissistic behavior is noticeable from the start, controlling and never wrong, only the other person who isn't!!!
