Brian looked like an angel that dropped from heaven. I just saw the Sweet for the first time a few months ago on youtube. I was blown away. 4 beautiful guys who made magic over and over. Brian seemed like a wonderful person. His story really touched me of his adoption and trying to find his biological parents. I'm so glad his partner who he was with in his last years found some of his family from his Mom's side (I believe). What a great gift from his partner. I don't care about all the negative things I've read about him. He's a LEGEND. R.I.P. BRIAN AND MICK. I HOPE YOU ARE SINGING WITH THE ANGELS.

Dommage que ce groupe n'a pas connu la gloire qu'il méritait,car c'était un grand groupe de Glam'Rock.Ils ont enregisté leur dernier Album en France, mais iils n'étaient pas très connus dans notre pays.Heureusement que tous leurs disques 45 et 33 tours,étaient distribués en France.Moi j'ai toute la collection de leur disques, et aujourd'hui encore j'écoute toujours mon groupe préféré "THE SWEET"

Even just into a home tape machine, with poor definition, low sound dynamics) you can hear the heart and soul of Brian shine through. It is what I never had as a singer and what very few do anymore because of technology blending it all out. Brian's voice was unique, distinctive and able to convey emotions and stories, not just with the lyric but with the tone and texture of his actual voice. I have a fine voice, pitch perfect but Brian Connolly had the voice of a star and we can all rejoice in the fact that he became one. Most who enter show business are lucky to find work. Early in his career Brian knew what he had with that voice and so too did those who auditioned him. Sweet had a record deal within three months of getting together.Within three years they were top of the charts, it was a collision of talented people that propelled Sweet into world fame for sure Andy, Mick, Steve , Phil Wainman and Chinn and Chapman BUT it was the pure gold dust wishing Brian's voice that touched our hearts and indeed souls when it danced through the airways in the early 70s. It is so wonderful that we have you tube and the Sweet web sites to share and express our love, memories and everlasting loyalty to "our" band and "our" singer. I'm 55 years old and like all the other original fans I cannot escape, run hide or forget that I am a SWEET Fan. ..........as i start to grow old it is so nice to have a special second family all over the world . And don't we all love when we hear Sweet on the radio! even after almost 50 years our hearts go wild to be in a shop or station or in the car and on comes the sweet. Totally brilliant thank you so very very much for this. We all should join forces and demand The Sweet become inductees in the rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame. I personally told them, Sweet should've been invited and should have long before Brian died. It's hard not to feel bitter against the rock 'n' roll "Hall of Fame". Are they fucking nuts?!
I sent in a letter to the Nominating Committee in July of 2020 and suggested them for induction. Haven't heard anything from them, but I sure do hope they consider it now that there is only 1 original member left. With Steve passing in June, I pray they don't induct them with no original members being there to bask in the glow of recognition of their talent.

I know everyone loves the heavy gritty stuff that Brian can pull off but I just love the crisp sound and his signature style of singing with songs like this. Reminds me of Daydream and Sunny Sleeps Late. He sounds happy singing these songs. Bless him ❤
The Swet was the first group I really fancied. I was 13 and they played in my hometown. I went to see them with a friend, but it rained so hard they could not perform, but the next day, they gave the concert and you know, the first rock concert of your life, that's always something to remember! I'm still a glam rock lover :)

The first time I heard this song, I was blown away. It's such a beautiful song that, even or is it due to the poor sound quality, becomes impressively tender and chilly. A great song and a great angelic voice.

Wow, I really thought this was made in the 70s til I read the comments. He sounds awesome. He really recovered well from the attack and got right back "on the horse." The Sweet are my favourite band ever, so under rated. This soundtrack encapsulates perfectly the beautiful sound of Brian's voice, plain and simple - he was incredible. I love the current 2014 (Andy) line up of Sweet, I love the post Brian recordings of the Sweet too (and realise many many posts on here will disagree and say that anything after '79 isn't real Sweet), but just because I love the newer stuff it doesn't mean I don't absolutely love the 'classic' line up and this unearthed hidden gem of Brian doing what he did best is special.

I completely agree with SweetLauraLee's comments. I think the proof is in the fact that, even though I don't really "hate" any further incarnation of Sweet after Brain's departure, you have to admit that everybody else's voice that has ever taken over from his is awfully generic, whereas he didn't sound like ANYBODY. I've literally never heard anybody sound like him. It's a shame he kinda lost the ability to scream as well after he had his throat kicked in in 1974, but that's not his fault.

Wow, I really thought this was made in the 70s til I read the comments. He sounds awesome. He really recovered well from the attack and got right back "on the horse." Glad it didn't permanently damage his vocal cords. Thank you for sharing. These are great pictures, but then how could they not be??? He was so damn cute!

The Sweet are my favourite band ever, so under rated. This soundtrack encapsulates perfectly the beautiful sound of Brian's voice, plain and simple - he was incredible. I love the current 2014 (Andy) line up of Sweet, I love the post Brian recordings of the Sweet too (and realise many many posts on here will disagree and say that anything after '79 isn't real Sweet), but just because I love the newer stuff it doesn't mean I don't absolutely love the 'classic' line up and this unearthed hidden gem of Brian doing what he did best is special.
For me the current Sweet sounds nearly as good as the original but just makes me wish that Brian was still with them as his voice was unique.

I completely agree with SweetLauraLee's comments. I think the proof is in the fact that, even though I don't really "hate" any further incarnation of Sweet after Brain's departure, you have to admit that everybody else's voice that has ever taken over from his is awfully generic, whereas he didn't sound like ANYBODY. I've literally never heard anybody sound like him. It's a shame he kinda lost the ability to scream as well after he had his throat kicked in in 1974, but that's not his fault.

Yes Brian had two daughters I think their names are Nicola and I can't remember the other one with his first wife Marilyn and a son Brian Connolly Jnr with ex girlfriend Jean.
