Had this discussion with my 25 years old son in law and that was our conclusion. Music stop being good somewhere in the 80's with some last sparks in the 90's.

Crystal Hornbeck They played in Buffalo, NY in 70s. It was only 3000 seat venue. They said the coolest thing ( HELLO BUFFALO ). Buffalo had a great music scene in 70s 10 years of concerts 4 every summer. Rolling Stones liked us played here 6 times. Got to see lots of big bands, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Reo Speedwagon, The Who, The Clash, Neil Young, Rush, they even got Lynyrd Skynrd & Allman Brothers. Country Singer Alan Jackson. Now the bad news about Buffalo, we get 10-12 feet of snow every winter from Lake Erie. 1 thing cool about Buffalo we have a big IRISH Population. We are a crazy City Bars are open till 4am. Buffalo is 1 unlucky City all the snow & losing 4 Superbowls. Like I said all IRISH People ST. PATRICKS PARADE IS A NIGHTMARE. I guess it is true most IRISH People are Drunks. I will admit us IRISH are Different born with Red Hair & Freckles. Its also bad most IRISH Songs are about Drinking. Hey us IRISH have our IRISH DANCING. Rumor lots of women like IRISH Men. Its a good thing Freckles dissapear from our face but not our bodyies. IRISH Familys are known for having lots of kids. The 70's and 80's had the best music. Original. These days we have one band who makes it, and then 10 bands copy their sound. No originality.
I totally agree, 70's n' 80's were the best era of Rock & Roll, how many decades we have to wait a new one? Fuck!!

So little on the radio that I can listen to these days. I rarely listen to radio anymore. I've invested in a Grace digital wifi radio. I now search for the music I love, not what they want to shove down our throats. There are a lot of internet radio stations that highlight music from this decade. Think about investing in a wifi radio. www.gracedigital.com for a tutorial, but purchase it from Amazon. It's cheaper that way. Don't ask me why? Or, www.ccrane.com and see their models. Very reliable. A tutorial is also available on their website on this amazing technology. My radio is no longer boring. Good luck.

Yes, the cut off point came for me after Del Amitri, hasn't been another great British band since. The sixties started the sentence, with the likes of The Sweet, Slade and T Rex as the comma in the middle of the sentence, and Del Amitri as the full point at the end of the sentence. Since then zilch, just a plethora of talentless boy and girl bands and rap crap.
