- Ever come across a deal that seems TOO good to be true? That's exactly what happened on this '13 C6 Corvette... Nearly 500hp, 23k miles & a 'light' wreck? Easy money! Right?
Of course not... When I went to pick up this Vette it was suffering from a mysterious electrical issue, in fact the cammed LS3 wouldn't stay running for more than 10 seconds at a time...
If we can resolve the issue on this iconic Corvette cheaply, we're going to profit BIG TIME... If things go badly, we're going to be in a world of trouble..

My first thought was the start switch. What tipped me off was you saying it was clicking on and off sitting there and could read it was in accessory mode for a moment. Really oddball issue but luckily an easy one

Make sure that whatever brand of fibreglass resin you use is SMC compatible. The fibreglass that C4 and up cars are made from uses an internal mold release agent that will make repairs prone to coming off due to the release agent. Resin on broken and cracked fibreglass fixes nothing. It’s still broken. The only repair is to reinforce the broken section with resin, cloth or mat. Without the cloth or mat it has zero strength.

In my experience on an old c6 i was helping out with that had the same issue not staying on, this 90 year old dude working with me knew exactly what it was because he's had such a history with the car. We swapped out one of the relays and it was all good

Passenger floor where the harness goes into the bcm the pins pull out and cause the issue you’re having. I’d start there and you’ll find the problem. I’ve fixed way to many.

All you have to do is hit that with the heat gun and the color will go back to normal or a torch

I thought I was the only one who used subtitles. I love when it thinks it's "Applause". Or sometimes it will just say "Foreign" about a sound it doesn't recognize. Luckily I'm only about 60% deaf, so I know what it really is... Otherwise, Listening to an engine throw a rod and then lock up might be a bit confusing when it's labeled "music" or "applause". Sort of sends the wrong message, right?

I noticed in your videos you appear to suffer a lot of inclement weather. Hopefully you will have some sunny days ahead.
I figured it was a tune thing with the battery going dead. But a bad start switch could kill the battery two and why it needed one. I like you owned up to the repair not being perfect... watching many rebuild channels, others would be saying it was mint and perfect etc lol
Graphite paint would look like that finish too. They use it for mower blades n so forth, it's a friction inhibitor.
i don't mind when you part them, but i love to watch you save em. This was a good save, so is that is300.
Damn it’s clean. I do fiberglass and paint and body when I csn and thst would be a blast for me to fix. Especially if I had bought it
Heres a possible list, crank shaft position sensor, bad ground, bad map sensor, bad 02 sensors, fuses, relays, short, and so forth only way to know is to pull the engine and check the body grounds for corrosion.
Could of waxed the fiberglass. The OEM fiberglass might of been, it would add some gloss and luster to the flat matte finish.

My c6 needed all the modules reset after a battery failed apparently back in the day. Had similar issues (my friends dad owned it for most of its life.)

a little application of epoxy on the wing edge thats damages followed by a little cut and buff will have that damage gone and back to fresh in a few days (epoxy takes a while to cure up hard).

I honestly was thinking the ignition switch aswell because I had the same issue on my stock 08 STS-V with 131k on it!

14k for that. For 24k I picked up a 2011 with 17k miles. The market is still high as giraffe snatch.

@@davidr6865 Exactly. I get that we kind of got good deals but I really don't think they're worth more than that. I could have turned around and flipped it for 10-15k profit but that's ridiculous.
@@Usmc913 we did get very solid deals, but they also made sooo many of these cars so they are not that rare. Why would I pay $40-45k for a clean grandsport when for another $15k I can get into a z06 c7 or a base c8 in another year
The ignition switch probably has debris or dust in it not allowing for the button to fully retract after pressing therefore it reengages by itself to shut off the engine. try deoxit spray and clean it

When my 2008 BMW 550i was randomly stalling it was a ECU issue.
Maybe a faulty fusible link? Ecu connectivity issues?

It's not the start switch it's the starter the lug is lose an need to be replaced that why it keeps shutting off it needs a starter
