I appreciate that you don't just post clips of perfect shots. It makes me feel more relatable and lowers unrealistic expectations. Great video , great tips, great content as always. Cheers.
"Its not a putting video" cracked me up, I'm gonna try these techniques tomorrow at the Range, thoroughly enjoyed this video, great tips as always Pete, see you on the next one.
This is great for learning how to stop slicing/hooking as you get a feel for the fade/draw. I actually practice hook and slice shots just to understand the feel. If you struggle with these, try spend sometime with a flight scope.
Thank you Pete for this one. My favorite video of yours(and ricks). I’ve started golf at the beginning of the pandemic(only place open) and you and rick made me fall in love with the game(college t/f, and college basketball) thank you for the videos. I went from a 140(18 holes) to a 98(18holes) in less then 3 months and all the credit is to you and rick. Keep up the grind, your best golf is yet to come.
Them shots would be good for me..... My choices would be: Top. Reverse shank, Straight shank, Shank, Toe. Hook grass-cutter, Heel straight into ground, Slice grass-cutter. Underside of club. BTW, what ive called a 'straight shank' is when you hit the front of the hosel and the ball actuaully goes forward (not far though), while a 'reverse shank' is when you hit the outside of the hosel and the ball flies towards your shin - or occasionally behind your shin and inbetween your legs.
Love this style of vid Pete, although I can understand why people get lost with the face to path jargon. Best way I had explained to me was as if you're kicking a football - if you want to bend it left (draw) hit it on your instep. If you want to bend it right (fade), hit across the ball on your outstep. Game changer for me and now part of the reason I'm down to single figures 🥳
This is the simplest most informative video on the golf swing and shot shaping I have ever seen! Thank you so much for all your videos, they have helped me improve my golf game so much.
Don’t know if you read old comments, but looking at older videos of you - pre-GAINZ-Pete - you’re head looks HUGE!!!! Lol. I mean that with all the love, and to point out the progress you’ve made in your physique change! Keep crushing it!!
Never had a clue about how to shape on purpose but after one watch of this I could draw and fade on demand at the range today for the first time ever. Thanks Pete!
Omg never been clearer that the way you explain it. Went put and trie dit out at the range today and god how fun it is to actually being able to shape a shot!!! Thank you for this Pete!!!
I love how you structure this video. Your explanation for each is detail yet casual. It makes me wanna try this the next time i go to the range. Tx pete!
very insightful info. loads of helpful tips. I'm a strong draw player, I'm trying hard re-learn my fade especially on wedges and high irons. I feel like shaping shots is much easier on the longer clubs.
Great video Pete, a lot of practical advice and demonstrations mixed with awesome humour and excellent videography. One of the best golf videos I've seen
Pete... don’t tell rick, but this is one of my fav videos! You’re so normal, and seem to have the occasional iffy shot, I have the occasional good shot so I feel we’re both very similar! I loved the double Pete part, very good, you have a very good way of explaining things !! Thanks mate 👍 jamie
Learned to apply these adjustments last year, when it clicks it simply clicks. Plus you get to understand why you had a slice or hook. And once you adjust to do the opposite, the feeling is amazing. Very insightful video.
this was a great video pete - your explanations were great and even more impressive than the advancement of your editing. Seamless, great video. i have tried this myself in the past and the additional pressure i would add is that you call the shot shape to a named target on a range otherwise its easy to call a slice a fade and a hook a draw :) no substitute for a playing bit of practice though. It would be good to understand where you thought your percentages should be for this to be effective
Awesome video. Ive recently been able to hit possibly 50% of greens in regulation if I have a shot from 130 and in. I feel im ready for shot shaping! I loved how you only spoke about the 2 main variables to shot shaping (club path and face angle). I've never learned how to grip the club or change my wrist action, arms or anything. Why mess with these right now? Im consistently hitting it straight with decent power (PW goes 120-130 ) with similar distances each time. Thanks again, I cant wait to try these! 🍻
Hi Peter new to the channel after finding you from Rick's channel and have been ripping through vids in lockdown! I would love to see a video of tips on how to deal with or manage things that are out of your control on the course like slow play; do you take extra practice swings, not take the club out right away, modifying the routine when you have more time, or other things like putting on aerated greens, or playing a course for the first time, random tips and tricks like that!
Ive only been able to play once since early March due to lockdown and a medical issue. Cant wait to get out and try the stinger shot - its one I know I need plus it looks so damn cool. Cheers and thanks
Great video! I can turn the ball both ways but tend to overcook them sometimes. Great tip on the club face staying closed to target on fades and stay slightly open to target but closed to path on the draw. I've always just kept club face pointing at the target Cant wait to try both next time out!
lol he leaves a lot of 3 putts in 😀😂🙃 that’s why him and rick are so successful they are honest and show you the good bad and ugly because even the best in the world hook it in the woods on 18 and miss 3 footers for a major championship cough cough Phil , cough cough Dustin
Great video Pete. I don't think my consistency is good enough to do these on demand but I'm trying to work a draw into my game and having good results so will deffo use youre tips.
Great stuff, thanks Pete! However, you could do also this same video with just leg adjustment. I find it even easier to hit draw and fade with feet adjustment vs changing grip. Just aim your club face to target and adjust left or right feet for fade or draw. Simple and works too.
Hey Pete, after finishing most of Ricks vids I’m onto your channel. Love the vids. Not sure how much of this I can put into practical use but great insight all the same
Best bit greens are prefect then misses 2ft put 🤣🤣 welcome back to the golf all your subscribers play Mr Finch loving the channel keep up the good work 👍🏌️♂️
Hey! Curious on this one at about 5:25 - Angle of Attack....perhaps it's just an error - but Pete describes that if you hit down the club is travelling to the right..and if you hit up the club is generally travelling to the left? I think this is the opposite in reality?? I.e. if you're shallow with your driver...you'll be swinging from an in-to-out arc - i.e. to the right....but if you're steep and hitting down it's to the left. I find it difficult to hit a draw with a divot unless it's very handsy...easy with a fade as you swing down and left..... curious on this one?? Love the content though!
I get the gist of these shots... I just need to get out there and hit some, I broke even par for the first time ever playing on a simulator and I also had a shot where I swung 122 mph 2 firsts of my life but I'm ready to master these more advanced shots!
Great vid Pete. I'm gonna have to watch the part where you break everything down about 20 more times to get it all. Lol. But great vid. I've actually been working on my shot shaping a lot lately. I've always played a "fade"(slice) now I've been working a "draw"(snap hook) into my game as well. 😂😂 totally on purpose of course.
From BOTH OF ME thank you for sharing your time with me ❤️ hopefully you found this interesting and useful
That is so freaky seeing both of yourself conducting the lesson at the same time!!!
Are you sure the Aoa info is correct? I thought you had to swing left more to get steeper? And a path more to the right tends to be more shallow??
Unless you mean move if the ball forward and back in the setup??
Pete I am just wondering. Is it possible to hit that low stinger with a 5 iron. I ask because it is the longest iron in my bag at the moment.
Which one of you is really Rick in costume?
I can hit all of these shots its just i dont know which one is coming 😂
Lmao... Your not the only one!
🙌🏻 😂
Just like rolling the Dice..dunno what your getting..🤣🤣🤣
Pisssa
Yep count me in 😂😂😂
I’m personally an expert at my own personal shot the 60 degree stinger.
Yeah I prefer the driver flopshot myself
Isn't the number on the bottom of your driver the bounce? Maybe you need more if the tee boxes are really firm.
My 60 degree stinger is longer than my Driver shot 😂
My wedge stinger is my best shot
ROFL That made me LOL ...Yeah I have a great short game...Unfortunately its off the tee.:)
I appreciate that you don't just post clips of perfect shots. It makes me feel more relatable and lowers unrealistic expectations. Great video , great tips, great content as always. Cheers.

For me:
high hook, high duff, high chunk
normal hook, normal duff, normal chunk
low hook, low duff, low chunk
At least you know the order 😬
Them shots would be good for me.....
My choices would be:
Top.
Reverse shank, Straight shank, Shank, Toe.
Hook grass-cutter, Heel straight into ground, Slice grass-cutter.
Underside of club.

“ I’m not saying that was a perfect lay up, but that was a perfect lay up” cracked me up. 10/10 on the video
This is the simplest most informative video on the golf swing and shot shaping I have ever seen! Thank you so much for all your videos, they have helped me improve my golf game so much.

One of the simplest and yet best videos on shot shaping. You really made it easy to understand. Thanks.
Great content again Pete. Not
Just aimed at high handicap players to improve but for all levels to use the drills. Top drawer!
Exceptional video. Hugely helpful in visualising the mechanics of a draw and fade. Also the camera shot of the low draw was beautiful.
I love how you structure this video. Your explanation for each is detail yet casual. It makes me wanna try this the next time i go to the range. Tx pete!
One of my favorite videos you have ever done
The editing with the two Petes in the bay was top tier. Amazing video!
not sure why i haven't subscribed to you yet but this video has most definitely made me do it.
Getting closer to that 300k subscriber mark! Keep it up Mr. Finch. Big fan of your videos
My biggest problem is I know I have a fade off my drive so I aim left, and of course I hit it perfectly straight then and lose my ball left🙈
I think it's because you concentrate differently on the course, at least it's that for me.
Fan for a while Pete and this was one my favourite videos you’ve done. Thanks!
Great video Peter! I like how you put it all together and show range drills and course applications.
very insightful info. loads of helpful tips. I'm a strong draw player, I'm trying hard re-learn my fade especially on wedges and high irons. I feel like shaping shots is much easier on the longer clubs.
Thanks Peter. You have been a great help in explaining these golf swings.
Great video Pete, a lot of practical advice and demonstrations mixed with awesome humour and excellent videography. One of the best golf videos I've seen
Loving the new double Pete during explanations!
I love the side by side vid with TWO of you! great camera work.
Brilliant Pete! Best TH-cam golf content by miles 👍🏻
Pete... don’t tell rick, but this is one of my fav videos! You’re so normal, and seem to have the occasional iffy shot, I have the occasional good shot so I feel we’re both very similar! I loved the double Pete part, very good, you have a very good way of explaining things !! Thanks mate 👍 jamie
Amazing video! This will help a lot with my ball path and hopefully I can get my score in the 70s for the first time!
cheers buddy.very very useful video for me to practice at the range, keep them coming, love them all.
Cracking video. I liked the blend of technicalities & simple tips to further understand how to achieve each shot shape. Noted!
Best video you’ve done, unbelievably helpful video this is for me, smashed it Pete
Super slick video Pete. Great coaching too.
9:30 love how the SmithWorks wedge still has chunks of TP5 on the face 😅
3:45 This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them!
Learned to apply these adjustments last year, when it clicks it simply clicks. Plus you get to understand why you had a slice or hook. And once you adjust to do the opposite, the feeling is amazing. Very insightful video.
Absolutely love your little fairway monolouges 😂😂 Hilarious!
this was a great video pete - your explanations were great and even more impressive than the advancement of your editing. This works so easily, it’s amazing. I saw Jack Nicklaus talking about shaping, and tried it with some trepidation, but was amazed.
Thank you. Clear and helpful detailed information on how to impact the flight/trajectory of the ball. Going to try it out today
So much humor in this episode :)
One of my favorite videos you’ve done in a while. Good job! Not a putting video!!! lol.
Still my all time fav video... sooo much coffee
i just pulled this over the weekend. twice. I love golf
Awesome video. Ive recently been able to hit possibly 50% of greens in regulation if I have a shot from 130 and in. I feel im ready for shot shaping!

Great Video Pete!!!
@Dazzer99 I knew it was going to be a great video! So no wasting time!!! LOL!!!

brill vid you definitely improved so much since your first videos
thak you
Pete, thanks for the simplicity of your explanations. Things to think about when I hit the range in just a bit. Cheers! 🍻
Nice one Pete, I'll certainly give this a try. Especially the straight shot. Already mastered the "oh shit I've sliced it again" shot!
"It's not a putting video"🤣🤣🤣🤣 subscribed!!! New favorite!!!

Great vid. Editing is on point Pete! 🔥
Very very good Pete I'm going to try this the next time I go out and play

Peter, thank you for such an honest video. Gives new insight to improving my swing and game.
Great vlog Pete - instructional in an easy to understand way and simple to follow!
Stockport looks excellent 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great stuff, thanks Pete! However, you could do also this same video with just leg adjustment. I find it even easier to hit draw and fade with feet adjustment vs changing grip. Just aim your club face to target and adjust left or right feet for fade or draw. Simple and works too.
Thank you, Peter! This is exactly what I needed!

I’ve always hit down on the ball a lot and I’ve wondered why I struggle hitting a draw, but now I know. This was very helpful.

"Listen, it's not a putting video." I'm laughing my @$$ off. Love it!
Literally the question I was asking myself today
High class information in this video. My favourite is the "Arizona highway" 🤣👌🏼
Great video Pete, concept changer 👍
Absolutely great video editing
A other great video peter , love the classic lay up 😉
Great video, Mr. Finch
I needed this 🙌🏻
Nice to see you putt like the rest of us... :)

Brilliant! Thanks Pete.
Very helpful! I’ll have to try this in my next video!
Pete needs sooooo many more subs
Agreed
Was looking for this video yesterday, so you're one day late. I expect you deliver faster in the future! 😂
Great vid Pete. I'm gonna have to watch the part where you break everything down about 20 more times to get it all. Lol. But great vid. I've actually been working on my shot shaping a lot lately. Good stuff Peter!
Love the vid Pete
Very helpful video, keep it up!👍🏻
