How to SHAPE any GOLF SHOT - How to hit a DRAW | Hit a Fade | Hit it Straight | Hit it High or Low

  • If you want to learn how to hit a golf ball straight you must first learn how to shape any golf shot. If you learn how to hit a draw and then you learn how to hit a fade you now have two very different FEELINGS.
You can use these feelings as a kind of framework to work within to feel how to hit golf ball straight.
In this golf video you will learn how to hit a draw, a fade, how to hit a golf ball low and high
This skill is a fundamental to learning the game of golf and becoming a more consistent golfer. It is not something you should wait to achieve until you get to a certain standard. If you can't shape the ball both ways it's almost impossible to feel how to hit driver straight or take control of your irons.
You will also see how by improving your FEEL you will naturally strike your irons pure. It simply comes from a greater sense of what the club head is doing.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny, you are now my official golf guru. After not playing for almost 15 years, and staring back,, I was shooting in the high 90's (at my best I was an 11 handicapper)-- today, thanks to you, I shot 4 over on the front, something I haven't done in 20 years! I owe 99% of it to you. Thanks for your phenomenal lessons! (FYI, I 'lost it' on the back nine, shooting 14 over, which made it 'bogey golf'... my old back couldn't take it!

I’ve been working on my draw for months. I watched your lesson and immediately went out to the range. Absolutely amazing! The key for me was lining up right (R handed) which I would never dare to do, because -duh- my slice ends up over there AND having confidence that I could shape it to the left. This allowed me to do EXACTLY what you were saying, work the fade and then manage between the two to hit it straight.
Will continue to work on this to get it ingrained! Truly a breakthrough to be able to dial it back and forth which increases the confidence!
Thank you for your energy and your very thoughtful explanations!

I've never played on a Golf Course.. and at 70 with chronic Arthritis in my spine It's doubtful I ever will.😊
But I do get to play at TPC Sawgrass or St Andrews; without ever leaving my living room, through the wonder of Virtual Reality.
I have had to learn everything, starting with how to hold a club..☺️
My game has improved no end since I discovered your video's.

I've been paying special attention to your recent videos on how to turn the hips to create a good arc to hit well. This has always been a challenge. I've been playing seriously now for 2 years and at 62, I thought turning as you taught was going to be difficult. It isn't. I was at the range today for the first time this season and incorporated your teaching in my shots and it worked wonderfully! My hitting just improved big time thanks to your clear teaching Danny! I even managed to hit fades and draws; some of the intentionally as well:) can't wait for my first round of the season.

Thank You so much for presenting this video! Seems this should be a very early lesson to learn. Many times I struggle with wondering where the heck the ball is going to go. You brilliantly emphasized, "having fun" with practicing. Sometimes it's hard to believe, but that's what it's all about. Never thought I'd see the day that I'd have to think about hitting a fade. Your video lessons, on making a proper turn, have changed my golf shots into mostly draws (and sometimes a little too much draw) which I have tried to accomplish for 40+ years. Have an excellent week. Cheers!

Always a gentleman and a scholar! I was just trying to mess around with this. It is super hard right now, we still have nets up, hard to see what is actually happening and on the course makes it harder to really trust the shot if you don’t know exactly where it’s going to go. Last night on the range I was finally able to get some extra pop in my shot, people around could hear it and got some looks, that was really encouraging. I’m super excited to take this next step and as always love the information and detail.

That’s great Joe, be easy on yourself and enjoy failing at this because you will...but that’s where the learning is

That’s been one of the hardest things for me. I try to be hard on myself to do well in other sports and in work to get a good product or result. I’ve noticed the more time I put in or being critical on myself and hurt my game. It’s been a huge mental battle being so competitive and wanting to achieve my goal of being a scratch golfer. Just keep putting out awesome content for my benefit please! 😜😉

G'day Danny, My wife had a book by Beverley Lewis "Golf for Women". Beverley made no assumptions about the beginner's knowledge so every instruction was included. In the book. Shaping shots was explained quite simply, I used this method successfully and showed a few guys what to do. Recently I found Greg Norman used the same method. Beverley Lewis' book was published in the 1990's. Beverley was for a while head of the PGA unfortunately she died in 2019. I have found a copy of the book on Amazon.

I love this video. It has transformed my range sessions as I can vary the shot I want to hit rather than just trying to hit straight. Much more fun. I can hit a shot with draw now and I I hit really straight shots when I try to fade! Work in progress but useful to know. Your chipping video was a great help too.I have stepped down from rounds in the 90s to the 80s. Thanks for the really helpful videos

When I started out I tried to curve the ball, I was amazed at the negative reaction I got from many of my playing partners (often mid handicap) saying that I should focus on only hitting straight shots. Stuck to my guns and now I’m off single figures and there still stuck in the mid teens! Great advice and love the simple feelings 👍

See it, feel it, trust it....great video Danny on a great basics of ball striking lesson. I laughed when you challenged us to curve it on purpose. Good days - straight to fade, bad days - fade to banana slice. I have to say, it is more of the former these days and less of the latter. I have purposed to spend more time on working this plan - what does it feel like to hit it too far left. Okay, once that happens now what do I need to adjust to move it more back to center. It has really helped to quietly talk through the shot and then repeat the phrase "see the shot, feel the shot (which is what you are talking here), then trust the shot (i.e. that your muscle memory takes over)....
