How to properly wear and use Brass Knuckles. (Probably not what you think)

- It came to my attention that almost everyone that picked up these brass knuckles were using them wrong! I figured I’d do a video of showing the right way! Obviously for educational purposes only and don’t inflict violence of any kind on people that don’t deserve it! The looping shot will cut and open almost any skin it hits so be careful. Looping punches/haymakers are the worst punches. Hands up and guarding, foot movement, and straight jabs are all you need - especially if you have brass knuckles.

When you use brass knuckles you wanna imagine that you have a tigers paw, tigers don’t punch. They smack/swipe, you’ll break your wrist or hand punching any other way with brass knuckles

I do know that soft metal like brass was used for a reason it splits flesh open better then pot metal like hes wearing..a copper pipe with wood in it and a tape handle will split someones wig without having to really hit them hard at all..
Yeah they are best for hooks and uppercuts and should be used like a palm strike rather than a conventional knuckle strike.
Different designs will fit differently. My rule of thumb is that I should be able to do pushups on my fists with them on without it hurting my hands and I should only be feeling the pressure in my palm. I never leave home without it.
Most people said it's hurt to wear incorrectly but i didn't feel any pain when punch with that way (Yea i tested in the wall, melon and kind of person hand)
The whole point is to concentrate all the force in the punch into a small areas so if you hurt yourself you're still gonna hurt the person your pu ching alot more
Most brass knuckles are paper weights and don't carry the weight to really inflict serious damage. If you buy brass knuckles look at the weight of them. 15 to 16 oz are a great weight to take care of bussines fast and finale. But at that weight they are not considered paper weights anymore and are a felony to carry.
Completely false, legal to carry and use in some states but considered deadly weapon so be sure you are scared for your life and also using these for jabs are way better wearing them how he shows they will cut to the bone every time
Couple things i wanna add.
First off, it’s not about the weight. The idea is focusing all your energy into a focused hardened area, therfore putting all that energy into the metal that strikes the other person. Think of it like using your wrist bone (on the outside of your arm) and striking someone with that as opposed to a hammer fist, it’s a much smaller surface area so it does more damage to whatever it hits.
Using knuckles is the same concept, all the energy from your punch goes into the small part of the knuckles that makes contact and it’s usually steel or brass so it’s 100% going to crack or break any bone it hits .
Secondly , they are legal in Texas and i assume some other states as well.

Its not about the weight of the knuckle its more so about how hard one hits and how properly they hit as well

I’d say your close but not quite. Essentially, you want to hold them where the back part is making contact with your palm while your wrist is completely straight . That way when they make contact your palm absorbs the impact . They don’t neccessarly have to be under the second knuckle, it just depends on your hand size plus the size of the knuckles

Make sure you check your state laws before carrying. Defending yourself with these may cause you more harm in court than the person attacking you. I would love to carry this but my state doesn’t allow it and I think it’s BS! Nice knucks btw!

The pair I have has a serrated sharpened edge at the point of contact.
Soo put them on the part of your fingers that is going to shift up or down on impact breaking your fingers in between like some weird bear trap.yea I'm going to put them across the strongest part of my fingers and where the brace sets straight against my palm because that makes sense.
So in short use fist loaders instead aka a roll of quarters.

of course you're going to inflict more damage to the attacker then the damage you will receive but if you punch hard enough, its enough to break your fingers if you go all the way up, try overhand punches, straight punches and hooks, but mostly overhand punches, they really have the capability of murder

"Real Genuine" brass knuckles.. have a longer "palm rest". Brass knuckles / Dusters today are manufactured mostly for novelties, with a micro "palm rest". They are designed nowdays with a shorter "palm rest" on purpose. This is definitely *not* the proper way to use knuckles.. unless you are playing with paper weights. Go over to the Philippines or parts of Europe & buy a "Real Genuine" pair of knuckles.

You holding the brass knuckles wrong. They not meant to be punching like that and def not up above the second knuckle. They more for bludgeoning. Like a hammer.

i use these all the time on people i just don’t aim for heads but they definitely break for arms and ribs

Cant throw boxing punches if the brass knuckles are held before the middle knuckles of the hand.. every punch is limited to a crapping motion.. even a straight punch or jab is difficult.. Question is . Why were the knuckles of the Roman cestus.. the fore runners of the brass knuckles placed on the knuckles of the hand and not on the middle knuckles of the fingers??
Cestus is a combat glove; its design has nothing in common with brass knuckles. It does not have hard metal bridges between the fingers, which, if hit unsuccessfully, can curl upward and injure the tissue between the knuckles. By holding the brass knuckles in the manner described in the video, you can deliver relatively straight "door knocking" strikes without sweeping hooks and swings. Many types of weapons have their limitations and must be used with them in mind.

Never knew they were made to be worn like that. Honestly stupid af. You’d think they were designed for you to wear em all the way down your knuckles for the perfect right cross to the nose, considering it’s made for self defense. Somebody needs to design brass knuckles made to be worn that way.

Dusters were developed to exponentiate the way a hook is thrown in traditional bare knuckle boxing, which is to connect on bone (chin, orbital, temple, etc.) with the knuckles where dusters are supposed sit. If you think it's ridiculous, hit yourself on these locations with your knuckles and you'll understand. Now imagine getting hit in the same locations with the same type of strike, only now with the knuckles are covered with an object that is anywhere from 2-20x harder than bone (brass and iron were the most common metals for dusters), while also increasing the mass of the strike, thereby increasing the force of the blow at the same or even slightly slower speeds (force = mass x acceleration). On top of that, the same strike can now also maime the face/head, particularly if the dusters are made in a way to have sharp edges/angles (i.e square tops).
These definitely aren't stupid af, and there's a reason why so many states/countries have made them illegal to carry in public. The problem is people don't understand the origin/purpose of these types of tools because people don't understand the fighting style they were meant to compliment.

It just seems so counterintuitive to me that the dusters are designed to sit below our second knuckles and not directly under our main knuckles. feels counterintuitive and stupid to try to hit someone with the inside of our balled up hand instead of directly with our knuckles.. I’ve been boxing for a while now and Ive never once heard of throwing hooks with the inside of our balled up hand instead of a direct knuckle shot. but I guess that’s only for when you have dusters on
Knuckle Dusters are made to be used that because the back part lines up better with your palm giving you a more solid fist and transferring energy more effectively. As someone with a background in Kali I am telling you that any time you use a weapon it should line up with your second knuckles and you lead with them.
When you punch in real human it wont hurt your so bad, compare to the wall or any hard object as a mere example for practise, human body is soft when u hit it with brass knuckle it will hurt him a lot, not your hand.

@inxanee There are two types of grips, the medial and proximal, named for the sets of knuckles on the hand that will be covered by the duster. Both grips have their use. The medial grip is what most folks think of when they think of gripping brass knuckles, and it's effectiveness is contingent on how well designed the knuckleduster is, and how well it fits in the palm heel. A straight strike with a knuckleduster is really more of a palm heel strike as opposed to a punch. The proximal grip is more like what the gentleman in the video was showing, but it is used for what is called "dusting" or "chipping," which are strikes that resemble more of a clawing motion as opposed to a punching motion. I hope that helps.
