    Hi, how do you lock a subtotal value as you update filters into another sheet or outside the table?

    • @ExcelatWork
      @ExcelatWork  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. I hope I'm understanding your question correctly. You would need to copy the filtered value and use Paste Value to paste the result, not the formula. If this isn't what you are asking feel free to email me an example to ask@excelatwork.co.nz, Attn Sharyn.

    Hi, I'm using the subtotal function for average values however I need to apply multiple filters on my data, an it seems that is not working I get the same values for two different filters. How can I solve this? Thanks so much

    • @ExcelatWork
      @ExcelatWork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alejandra. Sorry to hear you are having this problem. I would check that the range within your SUBTOTAL functions includes all of the data in the filter range. For example, if all of the data (without Filter turned on) includes rows 7 to 300 please make sure your formulas include the entire range, SUBTOTAL(1,B7:B300) and SUBTOTAL(9,B7:B300). I hope this helps :-)

    Please how do I fix the error ' you have entered too few arguments for this function '

      Hi there, there may be an extra space, comma or bracket in your formula. If you are experiencing this error while following my video you might like to pause the video and check you have exactly the same formula as me, before you press ENTER.

    hi,after creating table for all given data range i did total row but its showing 0 in sum option. please guide me . Thank you

    • @ExcelatWork
      @ExcelatWork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. Sorry to hear this has been happening. Can you please check that the cells are numbers and not formatted as Text? If the cells look like numbers but aren't totaling, please try in a separate column multiplying the cells by 1, e.g. =A5*1. Copy this formula down the column for all cells in the range and then try totaling this range. I hope this fixes your problem 🙂

    Want to ask a question,
    If i use SUBTOTAL function, then i got the result 3612.14 (inside the video)
    Is there a method that I can keep this result when remove the filter?
    As if I remove the filter, the SUBTOTAL result will turn back to 21261.38, which is the normal SUM.

    • @ExcelatWork
      @ExcelatWork  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. You would need to copy 3612.14 value (the filtered value) and use Paste Value to paste the result, not the formula. I hope this helps.

    what if you're using the countif formula?

    • @ExcelatWork
      @ExcelatWork  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. Around 02:28 in the video substitute the 9 in the SUBOTAL function to a 2 to do a COUNT or 3 to do a COUNTA. I hope this helps 😊

    • @ExcelatWork

      Hi there. Be sure to apply a Filter the data first then insert the SUM function over the filtered data.
