LIFE SAVER !! TY : ) It's funny that ppl think that because some of us are Tech Support, Desktop Support, System Admins etc. we know these things 😂. I can fix Excel. I can resolve issues with Macros, add-ins etc...Don't ask me how add rows or create and execute a formula 🤔🤔
Hi Bilal. Not for inserting below sorry. I think most people use VBA code to do this which is way out of my skill set. If anyone else reading this message can help please share 😊
Hi, thank you for these great tips, particularly the "non adjacent" rows. Now, how can i add for example 200 rows? Is there a quicker way than alt + I + R and F4 that would require to be repeated several times no?
Hi there. You might like to try this. Please select the entire row where you would like the new rows inserted. Now, click into the Name Box (this is located top left of screen, below the Ribbon - to the left of the Formula Bar, you will see a cell reference in it). Increase the row reference by 200, e.g. if the cell is currently A8, increase it to A208. Now press and hold down your Shift key and with it still pressed press Enter. You will have now selected 200 rows. Now right-click, Insert to insert rows. I hope this helps 😊
Hi David. I'm pretty sure this can be done using VBA code. I'm sorry I'm not able to help in this area. But if you search on 'insert rows VBA code' I'm sure you will find some solutions. I hope this helps 😊
Hi Sandeep. Apologies for the delayed reply. You might like to check out this blog www.automateexcel.com/vba/insert-row-column/ I hope this is helpful.
Hi Tammy. Yes those shortcus are for the Desktop version. In the Online version of Excel maybe try Shift + spacebar to select a row or Ctrl + spacebar to select a column, and then use Ctrl + [plus sign] to insert a new row or column :-)
Hi Harsinchh. You might like to check out this blog. I hope it's helpful in finding the solution you require. www.automateexcel.com/vba/insert-row-column/
i want to add an additional row under each existing row in my excel table , but i cant do it manually cause there is well over a thousand rows already . and if i do that method of adding rows in bulk they all add as 1 big group of empty rows . i want a row that has my data and an empty row underneath it and repeat. is there a way to do that that is not manual?
nevermind i found out how without using functions. pretty easy tbh. for those who are searching the internet in the future asking my same question this is how i did it. first thing i added an extra helper column at the end of my table , the data in it was a text then number , so for example my data was all 1s & A's. one row had value 1, the next had the text A. then select all the data in that column , go to "find & select" in the home button --> "go to special" --> select "constants" --> select "text" only and de-select the rest and enter. this will select only the "A"s in that column then add row. this will add a row above every row that had the letter A from the helper column . then do the same for "1" by selecting "number" from the constants. after that delete that helper column. at the end you will have 1 row of data followed by an empty row and that repeats throughout the entire table no matter how big your table is.
