    Great tutorial. Installed mines today. I have a 2010 Honda Accord LX. Only needed to remove the 3 (8mm) nuts to remove the exterior mirrors. The nut you mentioned is a pain to remove, can be easily accessed by removing just the slightest of the plastic trim from the interior door just forward of where the nut is located. Makes access to nut super easy. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks a lot for the video. I did break some plastic tabs but I don't care if they fall to the bottom of the door. Also, that one nut on the mirror is rather difficult but I wedged the interior panel open from the door to get more room on installing the nut.

    For the "painful" nut, I first stuffed an old sock under it in case I dropped it, then took a piece of wire coat hanger bent into an L and slid the nut on the short part, pushed it to the bolt, and simply turned the nut with my finger to get it threaded.

    The service manual says to slide the clips forward to release them, but this works just fine. Which is just as well, since at least one clip on the coupe is inaccessible with the window in any position, even with the door panel removed.

  • @schelbin09
    @schelbin09 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does this do the rear little windows as well? It wasn't clear in the video. All my felt strips are bending and peeling up, including the little rear ones. It doesn't show on the link the separation between the windows that roll down in the rear and the felt that is in the stationary rear windows.

    • @ThriftyToolShed
      @ThriftyToolShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's only 2 strips for each side and it goes all the way under the small back stationary window as well. You can tell at 6:50 in the video. I show it goes all the way under that window that I believe you are referring to.
      Best of luck to ya!

    I did mine today. I had to use the 8mm wrench to loosen the lower nut but could not get any socket or anything on it to put it back on. Even with a magnet. You don't see it in your video but there is a piece that stick out from the molding around the door right in the way of that nut. Made it impossible to put the nut back on with fingers. Even with a magnet I couldn't get it threaded. One nut fell down in the door on the driver side. I still have it for the passenger side but the only thing I may be able to use is tweezers to try to put it back. It was so frustrating I gave up. I hope the 2 of 3 nuts holding the mirror on will suffice.

    • @ThriftyToolShed
      @ThriftyToolShed  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been a while, but I thought I mentioned that nut specifically and mentioned the magnet was under it in case it fell and rag under it to help in case. Yeah, that one is hard for sure, but as shown not impossible...

    Man my window trim has been flapping around for months. Very annoying. I finally tried to look it up on TH-cam and found your video. Looks like you have a EX, I have a LX non chrome. I wonder if the trim is interchangeable.

    • @ThriftyToolShed
      @ThriftyToolShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know they are interchangeable as long as you do have the 4 door. I bought mine based on Accord 8th gen. At least I did not see a variant for EX vs. LX. The ones I ordered looked identical to mine so I did not even think about that honestly.

      I shared a link in the video description for the strips I used on mine. I was thinking all 8th Gen 4 door Accords would be the same, but double check that they list your vehicle in the Amazon description. I only own a 2010 4 door to say for sure. Let me know if the link is no longer good.

      The more I look I see some for the Civic coupe, but not any for the Accord coupe. That is so strange. It seems you may have to resort to the dealership for these if no aftermarket ones are available. So weird to me.

    After watching the video, suppose I replaced the part in the past and did not marked the clip positions from the original ones I removed cause i didn’t know . Is there a method to ensure correct positioning, or does it not matter since aftermarket position clips are already set? Cause I notice the clips are in the ball park from the one you’re removing.
    Thanks once again

    • @ThriftyToolShed
      @ThriftyToolShed  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Without removing the door panel I cannot say for sure that it doesn't matter. It could possibly be somewhere along the door that they need to avoid maybe. I simply installed in the ballpark and had no issues anywhere that I installed them and no clips hit any part of the interior or affect the window in any way. Hope it helps!
