I spent hours looking on youtube to try to find out how to replace my 2009 Civic weatherstrips and this was the only video that I could find that covered it. I especially appreciate the recommendation to cover your prying tool in duct tape so it doesn't scratch the finish AND you linked the webpage that you got the replacements from. It's those small things that take this video above and beyond. Thank you so much Danny.
I appreciate that, hopefully you’ll subscribe so next time my videos will be easier to find, appreciate you watching and commenting
Dame el enlace donde lo compro...Dani.. gracias...
THANK YOU! I had went to a shop and tbe guy said 150.00 ! To install for me . I watched your video with my 18 year old daughter and she installed the weather strips for me ! You and my daughter saved me lots of money!
Appreciate your gratitude ❤️
Thank you Danny! My daughter just bought a 2006 Honda Civic as her first car and these strips are about the only thing if needs - looks like a super easy job, thanks for making this video :)
appreciate your gratitude
thank you Danny for taking the time to show to us DIY'er. You are an awesome guy. Keep up the good works. I like all your YT videos
I appreciate you letting me know that it helps 👍🏼
Thank you so much for this video! I have a 2008 Honda Civic and am so glad to find replacement is so easy!!!🙂
I appreciate your gratitude
Thank you for the video. My weatherstripping was in need of replacement and your video walked me through the necessary steps. I'll be looking of the windshield weatherstripping replacement next.
Yeah, if you find a cheap fix for the windshield, I want to know 👍🏼
shoutout to danny for this awesome break down of how to replace these, I just installed them on my car and now I don’t have to worry about my old mouldings melting and smearing on my windows when I roll them down 🤞🏼
Appreciate you
Thank you for this video. Just bought a used civic lx and this is the first thing i noticed that i needed to fix. It was an eyesore for me, but after stumbling your video. I subscribed right away, i mean browsing thru your DIY on a civic will saved me on paying someone.
Glad to have you with me
Great video. Concise. I had the gaskets already. Watched your video. Done in under 15 minutes. Thanks!
Appreciate the help! Had to replace those on my 2009 civic and this video saved me from a lot of possible pain and broken items....
I’m glad I could help, appreciate the comment 👍🏼
Thanks again, Danny, for doing such a great job and showing us how!
Easy job, once you know how it’s done
I had some of these laying around and finally decided to install on my Civic today.. broke one clip but still clicked in and feels solid. Good video!! Thank you
Appreciate you commenting, you’re welcome
@Danny, I can’t thank you enough. You have saved me so much time, money and my sanity 😅 Thank you for all your videos.
I appreciate you saying this, thanks so much
Didn't have to Use the tape. Honda planned ahead. They made sure they did the crappy clear coat and crappy paint job on my 2009 Civic because they knew that I'd have to do this one day and wouldn't be able to find tape to protect a good paint job. So thanks Honda! Thanks for thinking ahead! Don't know what happened I subscribed to this channel a month ago when I found your video on doing the touch up paint. Now I see it's not subscribed. You're fast becoming my favorite go-to guy for honest work. I am becoming a bit dismayed with a very popular mechanic on this site after it feels like his videos are becoming more product placement and advertisement and clickbait-ish. Sad really...
I Appreciate your support and thank you for watching, who are you referring to with many click bate ads? Curious
@@dannysdiygarage Happy to support you. I cannot call out that person. They are VERY popular here and have become the go-to for tons of ppl
Thank you, this is awesome! You make this look really easy. About to do this soon for my car.
It’s actually really easy
Nice job Danny! Just finished replacing on my 2008 Civic. The rear moldings were not a lot of fun, but got the job done. Appreciate the simple how to video.
That’s great, it does make a big difference as far as looks, thanks so much for taking the time to shoot me a message
Thank you so much. I had no idea how simple it was to change this myself.

Thank you for the easy-to-follow instructions!

I tell you what bud that video helped me a lot thanks from Louie Lopez in New Mexico
Thanks Louie, I appreciate your gratitude
this guy is a great teacher.

You Sir, just saved me $150!!! Wished I had known I could have bought this on Amazon. Just paid $350 for 4 doors. Ugh.
I’ll continue to add videos, hopefully next time I help save you money
Thank you for your good performance!
Appreciate that 👍🏼
Thanks mine had a leak and I just got new ones in- this really helps thanks
Appreciate your comment
Muchas gracias por el video amigo, muy buena explicación, 👌
Appreciate you gratitude you’re welcome
Great tutorial, thank you! OEM parts are ridiculously expensive for what they are. Plus aftermarket trims don't fit well. I'm thinking the plastic part could be salvaged and the rubber strips could be easily substituted by something else.
These are a perfect match and work well. Good stuff
Very helpful video thank you so much!
Appreciate your gratitude
Awesome Video, thanks for sharing the link
You’re welcome
thank you, I was able to replace mine on my 2015 civic

Thanks! Saved me from spending hundreds of dollars at a shop.
Glad I could help!
My doesnt stay put. Idk why. I have a 2012. I bang in the new strip but it does stay put it comes off easily. Any tips
Danny, do you know anything about replacing the rubberized moulding on the outside of the Windshield? There are strips to the left and right side of the windshield that protect between the frame and actual glass to keep out moisture. Ours got so weathered that is fell out in a carwash. I would appreciate the input.
They’re available at the dealership, they are not cheep but easily installed, I need them also, just cannot justify the price
Thanks alot, Dany
You’re welcome
Where can i find the inner weatherstrip? When I roll down my window it gets stuck.
Great help thanks blessings 🙏🙏
Appreciate that
Awesome, helpful. I hope I can do it..
You can do it!
Thanks a lot, video was very helpful. Is there a was to remove the molding without breaking the plastic hook?
Just be careful, as they age they break easily
Does anyone know if this will fit the 2 door coupe 08 civic? If not anyone got a link?
Good work mate
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey thanks a lot. If you put a Canadian link for amazon Canada I'll use it thx.
Thanks!
I appreciate you Peggy, thank you much, 👍🏼
Hi Danny - what is the name and where did you get the tool you used to pry the old pieces out....just ordered the parts on Amazon....thanks for sharing the link ..greatly appreciated!
It’s just a door trim tool, probably not the correct tool, something like this would probably work better Tresalto Auto Trim Removal Tool Set (No Scratch Plastic Pry Tool Kit) - Auto Trim Tool Kit Car Tools, Easy Door Panel Removal Tool, Fastener Removal, Clip, Molding, Dashboards, Interior Trim Tools a.co/d/4uN6icN
I wonder if careful preheating with a heat gun make it a lot more easier to come out with the old brittle plastic
I’m not sure it would make any difference, it might shrink the rubber and make it harder to remove but I really don’t know, I look forward to an update 👍🏼
@@dannysdiygarage It'll be till spring, I'll preheat it for kicks and giggles and let you know
Can you Do a video on replacing the weatherstripping around the windshield. Seems to be a common problem on civics!
I’ll see what I can find out, mine is also bad
Do you think this will fit my 2006 civic? Description says it does.. I bought them I'll try putting them on this weekend..
You should be fine
Looks great, but so did mine with the ones I bought on ebay. Unfortunately over time they started leaving sticky residue on the windows, terrible quality. I wonder how this brand stands up?
This is holding up fine, I don’t foresee any problems
I have a 2011 civic 2 door. I ordered the parts from Amazon that you posted. Unfortunately they don't fit, everything is for a 4 door. I've searched and can't find the ones for a 2 door. You have any recommendation?
Thank you
Dean
Sorry, I don't know that answer
@@dannysdiygarage ok thank you just the same.
@@whatelser I’m having a similar issue trying to find these parts for a 2012 2 door civic. Let me know if you have any luck!

They need to replace the rubbers with silicone based strips.
Для чего их меняют?
Hi do you know if this fixes water leaks coming in from the window?
I don’t believe it will, that’s going to be a different molding
Thank you.
You’re welcome, appreciate your comment
@@dannysdiygarage I didn't know that I could find matched paint in spray can til I watched your video.
Cool. I can do this!! Honda wanted 200 per door to do mine.
