I spent hours looking on youtube to try to find out how to replace my 2009 Civic weatherstrips and this was the only video that I could find that covered it. I especially appreciate the recommendation to cover your prying tool in duct tape so it doesn't scratch the finish AND you linked the webpage that you got the replacements from. It's those small things that take this video above and beyond. Thank you so much Danny.
THANK YOU! I had went to a shop and tbe guy said 150.00 ! To install for me . I watched your video with my 18 year old daughter and she installed the weather strips for me ! You and my daughter saved me lots of money!
Thank you Danny! My daughter just bought a 2006 Honda Civic as her first car and these strips are about the only thing if needs - looks like a super easy job, thanks for making this video :)
I checked the price for my 2012 Honda Civic last week. However, the body shop quote me $100 per window. And I search some video but there are difficulties Thanks Danny to teach me the most easier and simple method. You are so great❤
Tremendously helpful! Just did our 2018 Civic for $46.50 in parts ordered online, very satisfying, done in 20 mins. Had couple tiny paint nicks despite tape/cloth, but knew 2018's don't have the best paint jobs anyway. Knowing that, I started on the passenger side to make mistakes on.
Thank you for this video. Just bought a used civic lx and this is the first thing i noticed that i needed to fix. It was an eyesore for me, but after stumbling your video. I subscribed right away, i mean browsing thru your DIY on a civic will saved me on paying someone.
Thank you for the video. My weatherstripping was in need of replacement and your video walked me through the necessary steps. I'll be looking of the windshield weatherstripping replacement next.
Thank you so much for this easy to follow, super helpful video. I was able to purchase the weatherstrips through your link, and replaced all four on my 2010 Honda Civic EX. A couple of the old weatherstrips were a little ornery coming out, but your video showed how to coerce them! I'm very appreciative - thank you for sharing your time and experience!
shoutout to danny for this awesome break down of how to replace these, I just installed them on my car and now I don’t have to worry about my old mouldings melting and smearing on my windows when I roll them down 🤞🏼
I have a 2010 honda civic and I was able to follow this tutorial and install these all by myself, doing this is really as easy as he makes it look! Anyone can do it trust
I had some of these laying around and finally decided to install on my Civic today.. broke one clip but still clicked in and feels solid. Good video!! Thank you
Didn't have to Use the tape. Honda planned ahead. They made sure they did the crappy clear coat and crappy paint job on my 2009 Civic because they knew that I'd have to do this one day and wouldn't be able to find tape to protect a good paint job. So thanks Honda! Thanks for thinking ahead! Don't know what happened I subscribed to this channel a month ago when I found your video on doing the touch up paint. Now I see it's not subscribed. You're fast becoming my favorite go-to guy for honest work. I am becoming a bit dismayed with a very popular mechanic on this site after it feels like his videos are becoming more product placement and advertisement and clickbait-ish. Sad really...
Nice job Danny! Just finished replacing on my 2008 Civic. The rear moldings were not a lot of fun, but got the job done. Appreciate the simple how to video.
Danny, do you know anything about replacing the rubberized moulding on the outside of the Windshield? There are strips to the left and right side of the windshield that protect between the frame and actual glass to keep out moisture. Ours got so weathered that is fell out in a carwash. I would appreciate the input.
When my window goes up or down, there's a "flap" that goes up with it that I have to tuck back into the track. Is this part of this weatherstrip? I ask because the moulding seems to be a solid part or can it get flimsy from the inside?
Great tutorial, thank you! OEM parts are ridiculously expensive for what they are. Plus aftermarket trims don't fit well. I'm thinking the plastic part could be salvaged and the rubber strips could be easily substituted by something else.
I have a 2011 civic 2 door. I ordered the parts from Amazon that you posted. Unfortunately they don't fit, everything is for a 4 door. I've searched and can't find the ones for a 2 door. You have any recommendation? Thank you Dean
Looks great, but so did mine with the ones I bought on ebay. Unfortunately over time they started leaving sticky residue on the windows, terrible quality. I wonder how this brand stands up?
Hi, my window seal moulding pop off a bit and every time when i close the windows, those are shaking when the engine start or music so loud. So shoud i replace the window seal moulding ?
I would have cleaned the surface of the groves before installation with isopropyl alcohol. Then, I use silicone spray on the clips to make it easier to remove the old belt window molding. Same thing with installing the new one.
