Your church is lucky to have you that sounds amazing
His church must wake up god when he's having a sleep.
Bro, this is really great! I was shying from adding brass on my productions, but you just demonstrated how I can just keep it simple and still get a great sound. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this video! As a new user of the session horns plugin, this was a huge help! The video filled in a major blank for me which was how to apply multiple "actions" (falls, doits, etc) to a single horn line. I was stuck on the fact that I could choose only one action in the session horns window. But you came up with the perfect solution. Split the horn part out into separate tracks, then apply a different action to each! Again, thanks for posting this, man.
Man this sounds fantastic even when it's dry
You are a major blessing once again KC!
I have NI session horns, this is a good idea, I do this quite often. Of all the MIDI VSTs out there horns are the hardest to replicate well. I also use a few other horn plugins, some built into my DAW.. then I send them all to a group buss channel, put some light compression on them, add some air around 5-8k, and dip some low/mids out.. it helps to detune some of the horns also.. Duke Ellington was famous for having the rear horn section play a semi-tone out (very very lightly) to give a chorus effect.. of course, it would be easier to have a nice horn section in the studio, boom! done.. :D great video!
This is the best demo of this product I've found on youtube. Great job.
And I just picked it up for $50
Tienes los midis me los vendes
one of the most realistic midi horns arrangement I've heard. great great great job my man!
It was and his church must be awesome with him being there.
After ONE minute of watching that sound... yes! This is what I need :)
Let's continue & say THX in advance...
Now this is a great educational video. Very demonstrative and well-rounded. Thanks a lot!
Sounds really good in the mix (not so much when solo). Great arrangement!
Thanks for the tutorial. And the heads up for session horns. Great job.
Man you got this sounding great quickly! Love the arrangement too :)
Dang. This is one happening church! Thanks for the tutorial man!
this is a great demo. simple , yet demonstrative in good form .
Wow the dry sounds great!
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I first heard them for the first time myself!!! I can't wait to wet them up and add a tad of chorus to them!!!!
¡Wow! Sin duda de los mejores arreglos de metales que hay.
Thanks just what I needed for some backing tracks well done!
Thanks for the tutorial !!! Keep on teaching .
BRAVO!!! THis is the best sounding digital horns I've seen and heard on You Tube. Thank you for the tip.
I'm purchasing it now! THANKS KC!
wow, thank you! I where looking everywhere and not realized that I can use this (i have it anyway)
13 years of trombone practice thousands of dollars on instruments, repairs, lessons, etc and a a logic pro plug-in puts me out of work in 5 mins and 53 seconds lol
If that's simple I'd like to see advanced.
That's sounds amazing.
Respect to you.
Horn line sounds great man.
Love this track!
Hi, I would just like to thank you very much for this video, it's given me more insight regarding how to create brass realistically! PS. I'm just starting out and a real beginner!! hope you make more videos on create brass realistically, especially for beginners like me. Thank you once again for sharing your knowledge to others! :)
This is an amazing tutorial. Thanks a lot.
Man, Brotha, you made those horns sound so real they jump. Nice work. I'm gonna get Session Horns Pro as soon as my income tax check comes
nice song at the beginning and good horns man!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
Those horns sound killer, well done!
That bro this has been very helpful. By the way the song sounds great. I will love to hear the finished product. Stay blessed
Superb! Well done and thanks for your tutorial.
Bless you sir, sounding real nice! I’m in the market for some horns, and you may have sold me on these
Thanks, God bless you!
How great! I want to record midi trumpet for a song and was wondering how to do articulations. I watched a video where it was suggested to set up different tracks for them. After that I was wandering if I must record each part separately or just one track and then split notes. I see that this way is very convenient. And I have Session Horns since three days, I will experiment! I have Cuba for Kontakt, too, with a trumpet there. Now with your approach I am very tempted to put more winds in the song.
You just sold this VST in three minutes. Thanks for this video!!!
Great sounding arrangement. What preset and articulation are you using for the main section part? eg around 2:14. Any chance you can do a more in depth tutorial on writing realistic horns parts, the music theory, unison/cords, smart cord, polyphonic, articulations, the production etc?
Very impressive man!! Great track. Thanks for these tips (brilliant arrangement)
Thanks so much man!! So glad you're gaining tips from this video! Much love ☀️💚
You have great programming skills with Session Horns. However, don't forget that the original track contains live brass sections (specifically starting at 3 minutes into 'Free For All'). When you layer live brass with any VST instrument, it can make even the most synthetic sounds sound somewhat realistic.
I believe the biggest reason the brass in this video sounds so authentic is not just due to Session Horns' quality but also because there's a live brass section in the track playing alongside.
Hey my man. Thanks for the nice vid.
I'm trying to get my Session Horns to sound good. Do you use Legato for horn runs? Also, what did you finally use for effects? The NI stock effects or your own?
Perfect... God bless You
Awesome arrangement!
Appreciate it! this video was very helpful ✊🏾
What a perfect and excellent video!!!
no wayyyyyy, you did this song/ We use to sing this in church.. OUTSTANDING......
you sold me on session horns with this video. cheers dude, you are talented!
Marcusmiller yes, I have since transitioned to Session Horns Pro... but in all honesty, the standard version gets the job done well and when you add effects, it really shines!!! :)
Lol you just sold me session horns standard too. I bought it :D You need to put in affiliates ;D
Marcusmiller wtf is his talent? Stealing gigs from actual trumpet players? Great
Thanks Bro....Just what I was looking for!!
Thanks for this tip, helped a lot.
Glad I could assist in your music journey!!! There are many ways to get the end result...this is just one simple way to get there!!! ;)
Fabulous! Thank you!
Great horn arrangement!
Very good, but is it possible to show how you did the other tracks for move the parts for the articulations???
I've tried to do the same creating more tracks in Cubase 5 and didn't work!!!
Many thanks.
Wow that sounds good! I'm going to have to stop using my Casio keyboard and get me one of these!
I love this song!!!
Great video. Is this three instances of Kontakt, or do all three MIDI tracks feed into the same instrument instance?
yo you should explain those effects you show on the video , thanks for giving me inspiration!
Did something similar for rehearsal purposes when the brass section couldn't be present. It worked pretty well, considering that I've built all the brass parts by ear (can't read nor write music). Session Horns is A-MA-ZING 😊
So what did you do for the shake and slide tracks? same midi channel? you forgot to ention that. Lemme know please. Great Video.
Thank you for this video. Is it possible to have fp last longer than 4 beats?
Hello, writing from France, i'm stunned watching your video. WOah !! The brass line you wrote is just so " Kool and the Gang" and the slur fx is so realistic !
I'm beginning on Stuio one DAW and your tuto is a very encouraging for guys like me... SO thanks thousand times.
I'm tryin' to look in my daw how to create this fx on my own songs...
Oh and, so sad i'm far from USA cos' i searched on the web for Lakewood church... My god ( with no game word...) that's something impressive... If only in FRance we could have this, many guys will go on sunday and ROck the faith !!
Bye bye Sir, and thanks again ;)
Omg, is James Brown in the house 🏡 fantastic work.
Thanks for the information. Song sounds really good too.. 👍
Wow thanks so much!!! Had a lot of fun putting this one together!
HEY MEN INCREIBLEEEE!
Reinier Chacon Thanks for watching!!! :)
Had no clue how you created those “shake” and “slur” effects...then I got to the end 😂😂😅
Thanks man! I’ve been DYING to replicate this Motown sound 😍
yes i need the clue for crated the slur
killer. thanks for the tutorial
Excellent Track!
Hey, thanks for this! This video is very helpful and informative! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :) By the way, do you have a video on how to transform a trumpet with a Tube Mute sound effect?
genius!!! thanks for sharing!!
Lorraine Höller
If u like romance music visit my channel ... cheers :D
How to make 'slur up' and 'shake' sound? I'm using Session Horns but I can't find the way.
This is awesome!
Thanks so much! Had a lot of fun putting this together! 💚
very very cool. way to go , man!!! Cheers from Brasil
Hi K.C. thanks for this amazon TH-cam Video. I went out and got Horn Session and it's the best midi horns I have heard. I'm having issues with setting up the sounds in Logic. How did you set it up to get the expressions to translate into Logic? I't looks like you have Logic setup as a Midi through. Happy holiday's and it you can help me out that would be wonderful.
Michael Shealy Hi!!! Ok, so are you not getting the sounds to play, or just the different effects/expression?
Great job bruv!!
Thanks a lot my friend!!!
Hi, thanks so much for this video. Any chance you could do another video on mixing this brass to the track? I really want to see how real you can make Session Horns before I get it. Thanks again.
Excuse me, may I ask you a question (about Session Horns Pro)? Is it possible somehow to "set and
change" the articulation, through the key (note) editor. Perhaps wrong
place to ask this question, since I am using a Cubase...
NICE JOB BRO! BLESSINGS!!!
Great vid KC! I have Session Horns also. What's your process on hearing and figuring out the chords and lines that the horns are playing in the songs especially the chords?
Hi! I use the same technique that I'd use for vocals... I show how I use my ear to pick the parts out in my other video - "How To Transform Your Music Ministry in 30 Minutes": th-cam.com/video/eWNq3tiI3Jo/w-d-xo.html
@@prettysimplemusic midis brass?
Thank you!!! $100 is very inexpensive for that kind of quality. Been looking for something like this.
Tienes los midis
Hey I’m new to this and wanted to know what I would need in order to use this program. I have Logic Pro X and want to get session horns but I have to buy kontakt right ? Kontakt 5 or komplete 11 i don’t really understand how that part works.
Excellent video and use of the software
Hey KC, I realize this video is 8 years old at this point, but it's new to me and I'm new to this midi backing track building, so I'm hoping you have a minute to answer what I hope is a simple answer to a simple question.
How did you get the horns to do that power crescendo at the end, please? Is that one of the choices in that drop down menu you showed?
Great arrangement and horn choices btw!
Thanks man and God bless!
dude sounds like Andre 3000!!
Awesome video. would love to know these 'more expensive' libraries....PLEASE TELL!!!
i love session horns pro - it gives me the horn
wow! fabulous!
Which song is this? I love it, even without the horns. Need to get Session Horns.
hey doc, do you track horns for projects as well
Damn that sounds great!!!! Subscribed
What do you used for the piano? I cant get that sound or i just play wrong chords :)
wow... great stuff... thanx
This is so cool 😎
Hey dude....how do you actually select individual MIDI notes and drag them to a new track?
do you use mainstage at all or just kontact?
Hi, would you have any tips to make some James Brown horns with a vst?
good work! thanks for video!
Wow great horns
I'm curious why you played 3 trumpet parts in harmony instead of using a section?
I'm brand new to this library and just trying to figure out the best way to use it.
Wow.nice tutorial sir..
All your videos have been helpful.have not been posting comments cause i just learn't how to.. wanted to ask if you could please do a video on how to make click tracks for worship songs...thanks you sir.God bless
thanks for the support!!! ok,I'll jump on that!!!
Could you suggest me some good Horns as in professional ones ? we are trying to do some church music too, in a similar genre as to what you showed
Nice horn arrangement.
Hello, Sir! First of all, sorry me for my bad English.I am a self-taught at all in this life and many things I still learn about foreign languages. Sir, I own the Session Horns plugin and work with the Cubase 5 software. I play some string instruments. But I do not know how to play keyboard. I never learned.Because I do not know how to play keyboard, when I compose MIDI, I use a program called Notewhorthy composer.I think this prevents me from using the MIDI controls well and I can not make my Brass Section very realistic. Do you have any tips on how I can improve this? Right now, thank you very much for your attention. Greetings from Rio de Janeiro.
