Well… that’s like saying being able to strum open is being able to play guitar. Sure I guess you’re technically playing it, but at such a basic level that it doesn’t really count. You’re also missing out on learning all the boring but important stuff about what you’re actually playing and why, which is how you actually learn. Which I guess illuminates that this isn’t so much as learning but memorizing. Sure you can memorize this, but unless you actually learn you’ll never be able to apply the skill outside of these very limited and simple confines.
Is it simple? Yes. Does it require practice and muscle memory to some degree to perform? Yes. Can this be used outside of this specific order of notes to learn from it? Yes. Then is it piano skills even if it is simple? Yes. (According to me that also plays piano)
I used the first trick but I took it up a notch. I used 2 bluetooth speakers on either side of the piano. One had a piano track coming from it while the other had a vocal track. Now my friends think I can play piano AND sing at the same time!
Solid stuff Elise, I've been looking for a tutorial like this for a while now. However unironically I can't be the only self-taught person who has learned by just learning one trick and "cheat" at a time to the point where you can eventually tie everything together and make it sound good.
I graduated fake music class thanks to you. I wouldn’t have any friends right now if it wasn’t for you teaching me how to fake play the piano. All the men are lining up for me now.❤
Found this on April 1st and got more and more confused on why this was a prank And now I've been tricked into having actually learned real information. Your long game skills are on point.
Just go for it! Don‘t be shy to play an instrument! This is the shortest piano lesson, but its so good ! Because it eliminates the fear to touch and play a „complicated“ instrument like a piano. Just try it and fool around! It will get to you! Make Musik, be creative! You don’t have to be a „master“ to be creative! 🤗

I am SO here for this. I've wasted so many years without these deep insights and caused myself a whole heap lot of stress and strain. Thanks for bringing it back to the basics of 123 - 12 - 1 spacing and keeping it real. ;)
For anyone interested, these are just chords but played one note at a time. The chord formula is 1,3,5. The 3 of each of the chords were played last, so the note layout for each chord was 1,5,1,3. Using the first chord as an an example, it was D Minor 1 5 1 3 D A D F
Contrary to what the subtitles say at 0:07 , I'm convinced Elise says "I've been pretending like I can play piano for the past 2 years even though I really CAN."
@@SingleAsaPringle28As a mediocre pianist, I’d say: 1. Get started with some nursery songs, they’re often easy and quick to learn. If you’re learning things quick, it gives motivation to try more:) 2. Press the pedal basically ALWAYS, it hides almost all sloppy playing from a casual listener. Only lift it very shortly once it starts to sound jumbled. (Or in the case of this video, lift it very shortly when you switch hand positions) 3. Just try stuff out and have fun! Smashing notes, playing over a track, figuring out the notes for your favourite pop songs… Whatever you want! The most important things (in my opinion) are the enjoyment in playing and the feeling of accomplishment when you learn a song.
@@SingleAsaPringle28 You can also use the same pattern starting on two other notes she didn't mention - C gives you C major, E gves you E minor. You can play a lot of music with just those six chords. Hint -- it will probably be easier to play the right hand if you use your ring finger for the top note instead of the middle finger. For another version, start with your right hand thumb on the *next* same note as the left hand (skip 6 keys), then skip 1 key and play with your pointer finger, then skip 1 key and play with your ring finger Have fun!
I have one of those electric pianos that has a setting where you can pick any one of around 100 songs, and no matter what key you hit it plays the correct note. It's insane how satisfying it is to be able to play Debussy's Claire de Lune note-perfect without having had to put in a second's worth of practice lol.
good one, "fur" Elise! (yes -- I did hear you say "can" at 0:12). The only "prob" (not really a "prob") with this is that the fake piano skills you're showing are actually real piano skills 🙂 But you're a lotta fun to watch! (the way you stare at your viewers -- you should team up with Lord Vinheteiro and play duet ...)
