This video is a compilation of all the bosses shown throughout the Metal Slug videogame series. Including the classic ones you've fought in the main series and other & new original bosses from other official Metal Slug games!

The effort & artistic talent that they put into these games...
The animation and pixel art quality is unreal.
not even mention the beutiful soundtracks
No game has ever matched the artistic quality of MS (in regards of pixel art)

The first few metal slugs are indeed very beautiful.
But, back on the day, after MGS 4 people started to get tired of these games since they had absolutely nothing new on them. Honestly, I think people were complaining even when MGS 4 released

What I noticed from early metal slugs is that the bosses has visible destruction effects, some of them are even depending on where you damage it. I guess the detail overfocus is why they almost went bankrupt on metal slug 3.
If I had to pick one entry to summarize metal slug it would be 3.

From fighting off against a big machines and an evil dictator to alien invasion to dealing with the giant demonic creature, _Metal Slug_ gets hella weirder and bizarre each time.
Not to mention killing a god with a gun
Gotta admire Allen's dedication to his work! 🤣
This series is jam packed with so many awesome boss battles. I've said it a million times and I will say it a million more, some of the best character design/sprite work in the entire history of gaming.
Feel free to say it as much as you want, we all feel the same way.

The art of Metal Slug is based on Diesel Punk, but as the game progresses movements such as Atompunk are also taken.

Looking around, I noticed that there were more bosses than I thought.
It was very shocking to me that Hyakutaro appeared as the boss.

This game series is basically the embodiment of "if bullets don't solve your probpems, you're not using enough bullets" and i love it

Got to love how MSA make their new type boss even though it's a gacha game
It may or will come as a shock to many, but the reason why MSA has been somewhat consistent on introducing original bosses/vehicles/creatures is because a Nazca employee, the very same employee who was responsible for designing and animating bosses like Jupiter King, Dragon Nosuke, and Huge Hermit, Kazuhiro Tanaka, better known by his alias Max-D, has returned to SNK on his own accord and is actively and currently working on MSA as a designer & sprite artist. Starting from the very first thing he designed for MSA, Cyclobster, up to his latest designed vehicle for MSA, La Torne, he has designed 74 or 75 different vehicles/creatures for MSA so far, and still counting.

My favorite one is Aeshi nero, that boss still scare me to this day, imagine you being chased by giant robot, try to run and fight it at same time, if you try to focus to boss it will devour you but if you try to run, only god know how long you survive, man if they focused at that boss by adding maximum floor at random if they somehow add it to MSA

What I like about Metal Slug overall world design is, it uses the WW2 and Cold War aesthetics. A combination of brutalism, steampunk, and dieselpunk.
Even though when you see the weapons and the boss design, they are a lot of futuristic elements with laser and plasma gun. But when you see the movement of the vehicles & bosses, which have a lot of lag and jittering. It looks like they're powered by an old steam or diesel engine.
