Earlier today on a Danish radio program, the brother of the frontsinger called in to talk about the song which meant the most to him. The hosts didn't know who he was, and was equally stunned and surprised when he explained why he chose this song: a story about how they became estranged during some years when he moved to Spain to live with his girlfriend. The two brothers had always been relatively close, so when Casper Eistrup travelled to Spain to attend his brother's wedding, he wrote this song for him. Beautiful story in itself, but also on another note how it helped him creatively to spark and rekindle his music career. Believe it or not, it's a true story, albeit with more details to it.

And then you feel jealous, weird, misplaced, resentful. This video expresses that feeling so well... That guy took it kinda far though.

Then he regrets it (because he did love his brother, just in a sort of horribly possessive way) so he figures a way to meet his brother again. The end.

The two brothers used to be pretty close, but for their wedding, Casper Eistrup wrote this song, and played it for them at their wedding in Spain. On another note I guess you could say it also helped Eistrup creatively to put a new spark in his career. Needless to say, the radio hosts was both stunned and amazed to hear this story. For me personally I love the song even more now, if that's possible!

Tenía aprox. 9 años cuando escuché esta canción en un segmento de música en canal once, mi memoria a esa edad pudo guardar la melodía para que a los 13 fuera capaz de encontrarla en TH-cam. Para ese entonces yo era un niño y no entendía muy bien el significado de esta canción, hasta años después..... Hace poco perdí a mi único mejor amigo, llevábamos 8 años de amistad, y no cualquier amistad, lo fuimos todo el uno para el otro; paños de lágrimas, baules de risas y buenos recuerdos, confidentes a muerte, sacos de catarsis y puntos de apoyo, fueron sin temor a equivocarme los mejores 8 años de amistad de mi vida. Desafortunadamente las cosas cambian, con ellos las diferencias aumentaron, sumado a un tercero en discordia que finalizó en una pelea con la cual todo termino. I lost my cousin a week ago due to a stroke. We grown up together. We were born in the same year and in the same month, and we had almost the same height. I miss him so much, even if we lived in different cities, we tried to stay in touch the most. We use to listen this song and watch this video a lot when were kids. He was an artist, a filmmaker, an excellent drummer, a gamer, he knew a lot of maths, and he was an excellent human being. Mi basto conocimiento en videojuegos lo adquirí de el, así como gran parte de mi filosofía de vida y mis aficiones, cómo me gustaría regresar a esa etapa de la vida donde podíamos sentarnos todo el día a jugar videojuegos y a hablar de nuestras cosas, de cualquier tontería, en esos momentos no quería que el da acabará, nos sentíamos inseparables.
Ahora que el se fue se llevó gran parte de mi, no se que sucede ni que sucederá de ahora en adelante, solo estoy seguro de que hubiera preferido perderlo de alguna otra forma, por qué no hay nada más difícil que tener a esa persona frente a ti y no poder decirle lo mucho que lo extrañas........

Te voy a decir mi idea, creo que todo es una metafora, no sé pero a mi me hizo recordar aquellas amistades de puberto cuando tienes muchos planes con uno o dos mejores amigos, de esos que vez a diario, compartes tantas cosas que sientes feo cuando llega el amor, tal vez tu quieres seguir luchando por tus sueños, por el sueño de ambos, vivir como lo tenían planeado pero si eres el que quiere algo mas y se va con su amor, el que queda se siente traicionado, no puede soportar ver al amigo pasar con la novia por donde siempre andaban, o incluso si ya tiene un niño te sientes traicionado, digamos que tienes celos de amigo (sin cosas gay ni nada, el amor platónico como tal [pero como lo define Platón, no la sociedad hoy en día])o incluso puede ser que entra a otra escuela, consiguen trabajo, llegan responsabilidades, total que para ti esta muerto, no lo comprendes y no quieres saber nada de él, hasta que maduras y te das cuenta de que el también tenia sus sueños aparte y comprendes que puedes compartir tiempo con el, cambias tus objetivos o te das cuenta que puedes incluir a los nuevos integrantes y compartes tu vida con tu mejor amigo nuevamente y su familia. En el vídeo los amigos/hermanos son los rocket brothers, el tiempo juntos y el objetivo de vida es cuando construyen el cohete y el llegar a la luna, la novia es el robot que se hace por que no se siente tan feliz como tu crees, o su pareja y el niño pueden ser el trabajo y responsabilidades que ya no permiten seguir juntos, el matarlo es dejar de pensar en el, el matar a su pareja y hacerlos parte de tu cohete es incluirlos en tu vida para llegar a el, a compartir tiempo otra vez con tu amigo, porque incluso cambia el objetivo, en lugar de la luna es el llegar al cielo, llegar al cielo es revivir la amistad. Algo así, sin mezclar religión, solo hablando de cuestiones psicológicas y significado de ideas (metáforas).

I remember this video making me cry as a kid after I randomly saw it on TV when it first came out.
