The design of the Legion is amazing. It’s like a more modern switch that can do anything. I just wish there were different controller options available if you wanted to change it up
The Steam Deck OS is optimized for gaming, but the Legion GO is a magnificent beast that offers a great experience. I hate Windows, so if I could get one, I'd definitely add Bazzite as a boot option (until Steam OS is released for more devices - if ever). Since I'm having a bit of trouble with my eyes, I'd love to enjoy my games in its larger screen, but its price is at almost 1,000€ here in Greece, and the imported quantities are extremely limited, so I'll stick to my Steam Deck for now, and I might give it a GO when the next gen arrives.
That sounds like fanboying Linux/Valve rather than taking an objective view of the OS options. Steam OS is not optimised as far as in game performance is concerned... Its just a modded version of wine. Proton makes it much more optimised compared to running linux without the compatibility layer but in-game performance is still behind running windows. Depending on the game, Proton still has a 5-30% performance cost. There is a lot of potential in proton but right now Linux isn't up to windows for gaming.
Just got mine for 375 used, but no Joycons, I normally play mouse and keyboard anyway so im Great, I did order the joycons from the lenovo support site just to have the full system.
Legion Go is currently my favorite piece of hardware right now, it's very impressive. I agree that it's currently the best, ally x and SD oled included. I absolutely love mine.
What I love is that this video isn’t even clickbait. It truly is the best handheld out there right now. Been using the ROG ally since August 2023 and only got my legion go 2 weeeks ago and it puts the ALLY performance to SHAME
@@deoner1313 I truly don’t have an answer lol cause I’m not that techy myself, but I am legitimately getting more frames at a higher resolution than I would with the ALLY. I was also able to just pick up and play games with less tweaking of settings in general, but some changes are still needed on the Lenovo for the best performance in each game. The screen on the Lenovo is much better. I play most games at 1200p and I’m getting around the same frames as an ALLY but maybe add like a + 5-10 additional frames for the Lenovos performance. Just for an example though, I play Resident Evil Village on my Lenovo at full 1600p resolution with mostly medium to high settings and on FSR ultra quality and I still get 50-70FPS. Now that’s the only game I’ve gotten crazy performance like that in but it’s still cool to see. Black myth wukong im currently getting 45-60fps at 1200p but it’s very area dependent.
@@828maori5 I would argued that at this point, the Lenovo, while not as powerfully is a better value overall cost wise than the ROG Ally X. The performance is tougher from that device doesn’t justify the price point in my opinion
Hey guys. What's the best way to make this feel more like a console? What launchers are you all using? I tried steam launcher with big picture mode but am having trouble adding non steam games. Thanks to anyone that gives me some feed back.
You got a better deal than me, I got mine used for 375, but it was just the screen, I went to the lenovo site and ordered new joycons for it, now its perfect and also 1tb, I'll mod it up to 2TB because i found A SSD adapter for it.
Steam deck is the ergonomic goat. Rog ally is the best performance and the Lenovo is the most creative. Hopefully they make an upgrade. I'd like to get it but not with the current hardware
I heard this too in terms of battery life but honestly I just love the versatility of the Go and 9/10 times I will be playing plugged in anyway so battery life is a non issue
I swapped a spare gaming pc I had (Ryzen 5 2600, 16gbs, 500gb, and rtx2080s) for the Legion Go brand new with a D brand skin on it with the 2TB storage! After 1 week I decided yup it HAS to be my main device. I currently have a R5 5600x, 64gbs, 2tb, and RTX 3080. After 2 weeks I now have a Razer Core X and I have the 3080 in the eGPU box and I'm playing Overwatch max settings 2 1440p monitors at around 180fps. Overall after trying the ROG Ally, Steam deck, gaming laptop, Desktop. The legion go does thing differently in a way that I JUST LOVE! The 16gbs of RAM is the only real limitation in my opinion since it feels like 8gbs instead sometimes. But Legion Go 2 will 1000% be my next upgrade! Time to sell my PC and get money back for a great TRADE! That gaming PC I traded I put together for less than 350$ so that worked out great! If you're thinking about getting the Legion Go, GO get it!
18 GB RAM on Legion Go, biggest battery in market. Bro, are you aware of Aus ROG Ally X's existence in market. And to whom you searching on camera? Your eyes always seem to be following some ghost.
16GB of RAM that was my mistake in filming, I know the Ally X exists but didn’t know the battery was bigger and as for my eyes, it’s a medical condition called nystagmus, sadly I have had it since birth
@skiyer0120 bro so rude how dare you talk about his personal issues just watch the review he must have gotten offended felling sad for you @bitesizeclue
This device is prone to overheating to dust or whatever building up on the fan & causing permanent overheating. The device will shut down running high demanding games unless you run the fan at full power once it becomes “clogged” the best option is to be willing to unscrew the cover get to the fan & clean it yourself but I’m not gonna do that & since I own 6 devices in my current “rotation” I have considered using compressed air & seeing what happens & whatever happens happens. The cooling system is questionable & battery is cooked. In all other aspects tho this is clearly the best North American handheld pc on the market. I’m a sucker for a variety of Aya Neo devices but they are imports & are not mass produced.
Lenovo should have not even offered a 512 version its ridiculous for a gaming device. Its easy enough to upgrade though. Ended up putting in a 2280 with a vertical adapter and despite many reports online of high temps they are much lower than the default drive which was hitting 94c 😂 overall I like the go for the big screen but prefer the software and control layout on the ally. Its more spacious.
@@bytesizeclu yes, the bigger screen is a plus but the ally x has VRR, bigger battery and more RAM, I had the legion go and I was always worried about the battery life.
16gb is not enough ram, enough said. You will regret purchasing a 16gb mini pc just like how i was now. You need at least 32gb, although 24gb is reasonably ok and more future proof
I love the Legion Go. I enjoy gaming on it a lot. I love the classics personally!
