I’ve had my Tree philodendron for 34 years. It’s pretty large (about the size of the ones you have there as I don’t want it so large it won’t fit in the house). I purchased it when my oldest son was a baby. They are so easy to care for.

Thank you! Best, most comprehensive info video I've found. Mine is healthy but it wasnt growing. I repotted last week and she's showing me some new growth. (der! 🤭) I'm now thinking of revamping my back porch to house my larger plants in the summer. 🤔

Very informative. I love these plants, probably my favorite.
The leaves on mine are slightly different, though.
I’m horribly behind on repotting. I feel like a bad plant mother but this video will help me take better care of them.
    Thanks!

you have not seen my philodendron that I have inside. It is 14 years old and massive. It puts out 4-5 new leaves each time. I have repotted it 4 times. I wish I could post a picture

I had one we decided to put on the back porch. It got so big we had to chop it in half to get it back into the house!
My current one is super happy. It just grew 5 foot air root. Does it need a post?

I bought one 2 months ago but the soil is coco coir and peat moss I think. I have it under a grow light but I think it is to bright because there are yellow and brown spots on a couple of leaves

I live in NYC. All the selloums that I see do not grow upright like the ones you show here. They have a huge diameter and the leaves tend to hang down after they are developed. Does that make sense given the location / sun?

My plant had root rot and I repotted it. It's now outside and seems to be out of shock and beginning to grow again. My only problem is the soil is getting dry in a couple of days. Should I be watering every few days or is that too much even the moisture meter is saying dry? It's about 80f temperature right now.
    Thanks for the informative video

These plants generally can handle being dry for short periods of time so it usually isn't a problem, but if your soil isn't retaining any water and just draining straight through you might need to exchange the soil in the pot for a different mix that isn't as well draining, other than that you can check the size of the roots, if there is more roots than soil you might need to repot into a slightly larger pot, hope this helps.

We can’t get that in the US. I’ve been using Neem oil.

I have two huge SLP outside. They get hit by hard freezes here in Louisiana. I want to propagate them. You did touch on it in your video, but can you do a video?

Gteat video. How much water for watering? And how much fertilizer?

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Water until some water drips out from the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot, with fertalizer they all have different doses that you mix with a specific amount of water I generally follow the dosage on the bottle.

My split leaf is spreading out more than growing straight up. It's growing new leaves, but the leaves at the bottom are really spreading. Is this normal? I have two of them and they're both doing the same thing. I have them in a screen room outside and they get morning sun.

@@VampyHannah I put a large zip tie on it, not tight, and let it like that for about a week. Then I cut the tie off and it's standing up! That was two weeks ago and it's still upright.

This isn't an indoor plant, however it can grow in doors but it will not get as big. Mine takes up over 5' in diameter about 4' tall.

What is white oil? I searched and found nothing specific for white oil, but lots for other types oil including one posting that describes how to make a white oil to spray plants.

Should I trim the aerial roots that are growing out of the trunk? My plant is humongous.
