They are so, so tight. The combination of a solid drummer and bassist with the sick leads on keys, sax, trumpet, and trombone is really a joy to listen to.
@@benjaminapeter I totally agree and have seen them many times at the historic hall. The only issue is that if you absolutely want to see the configuration of the band in this video, with Ben, Ronell, and Charlie (my favorites) you have to see the traveling band. Although you can see them in this configuration with some luck and planning at the actual hall, the in house talent is a revolving door so its hard to plan who you will actually see if you are just there for a litt bit for vacation. Also, the traveling Pres Hall Band is a completely different set and vibe. It is super high energy.
The thing that is the most awesomest of this Genius-level Prodigies group, noteworthy if you will, significant without a doubt, pertinent & poignant is the Realization; EVERYONE, all the band members, technicians, sound/light engineers remarkably began studying their crafts at the age of two. Amazing 🤩😳 musicology 🎵🎶 exemplary Professionalism, seamless cohesiveness/timely handoffs, mind-astounding solos 👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆!!!!
Just discovered this after listening to them on Chris Thile's "Live from Here" (only 50 years late to the party) - what a fantastic band, album procurement begins :-)
Do you have any cool stories to share? Specifically when they toured with My Morning Jacket. They seem to really love each other as they play so many shows together. I'm seeing both on the beach of Mexico for my honeymoon!
I know it was old Bill who played the Sax, but damn if that doesn’t look like 75 year old Obama up there 🤣 In all seriousness, it was none other than Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters who named dropped this amazing group during an episode of Hot One’s that brought me here. I grew up as a Disneyland kid and I always always loved the live jazz bands and looped music in New Orleans Square.
❤Just WONDERFUL .lts SOOOOOO Good to hear Jazz at it's BEST. ORIGINATING from New Orleans, LOUISIANA. And I see my Long time Friend 🎷 saxophone extraordinaire, Mr. Charlie Gabriel ❤ APPLAUSE THE Preservation Hall Jazz band 👏 👏 👏❤ 👏 👏 👏 ✌ 💖 & 🎶
Hey as long as you enjoy playing music...composing music or just learning thats all that matters...im sure almost everyone would get owned watching these guys.
I know they introduce the musicians in the video but it would be nice to add them to your description. So i don't have to search through the video again to get their names.

If you don't move and groove to this, you are dead. And seeing them live!!!! Nothing like Pres Hall live!!! The best live act ever
Nothing like seeing Preservation Hall Jazz band at Preservation Hall of Jazz music, New Orleans!
Them opening for My Morning Jacket then sitting in during several of their songs is the best live act!
