My daughter bought a 2023 Thor Tallero 20J, in July 23 2023. In the first year she put 20,000 miles on it. Before she left for her first long trip, I had several issues to fix. I realized the "J" meant junk. She comes home once a year or more so Dad can fix things. I was a former home inspector, one of the biggest problems was mold in homes due to everybody sealing up homes to "save" energy. The Thor has vinyl covered press board. When the black van was closed up on a summer day the temp inside could get up to 175' and all the vinyl started peeling off. There were two leaks in the enclosed water tank that caused the floor underneath to get soaked and warped. I don't want to go through the whole list but I sure wish she would have taken DAD to the sale that day. I feel bad that she is stuck with a 10 year $889 a month mortgage.
I bought a 2023 24 feet keystone springdale hauler in June first trip in Oct 3 to Oct 9th from muncie indiana to everrett, Washington and found a about 4 feet opened up the second panel from the top

Workmanship is out the WINDOW on everything. I wouldn't waste a DIME of my money on ANYTHING sold today. It's time for people to boycott the industry 100%.

Have loved our Neumar Kountry Star over the last 20 years. No issues just routine maintenance over 2 decades. It is stored inside which I'm sure helps. Hopefully the purchase by Winnebago doesn't change quality.
Well unfortunately, our 2023 Dutch Star ⭐️ was far from perfect-lot of issues and it still isn’t all fixed 🤯 Unfortunately, we didn’t get an inspection because we were dumb and thought hey it’s brand new and Newmar it will be perfect-WRONG 😢🤷♀️⭐️

I got one for you for the wettest. I'm an inspector and have been doing this for less than a year so I am learning a lot from your channel. We were doing an inspection on a 2018 Explorer Avenger 32 BIT travel trailer. While testing out the city water connection, water started gushing out of the inside of the trailer, the bottom and the outdoor kitchen. We discovered that in multiple areas of the water lines, rats had eaten through leaving large gaping holes. And those were just the ones we could visualize. Who knows what was in the walls that we couldn't see. Anyway I love your videos and keep up the good work!

My daughter left her 5th wheel at a horse show for a couple of weeks, in between shows. When she came back, the rat's had eaten the plumbing and electric cords. It was a mess to fix.

Slide outs sound like a nightmare in general. Such a heavy mechanical structure subjected to weathering for perhaps days at a time while camping is bound to always eventually have problems regardless of how much you maintain A simple no slide out camper even if it’s small is the way to go (at least for me) Simpler is better
What kind of moisture meter are you using, I have an older one I used in home inspection but it's a pin type. When the sprinkler line in the attic of a hotel I worked at froze up and flooded the top floors, I used a thermal gun to see how far up the wall the water went up. Water or moisture will give you a good higher temp. My daughter is going to trade in her Thor in March and this time I am going with her!

I haven't seen a video on this segment of the RV industry. would you be ahead of the game by owning one?
Azdel has been the latest hype lately 🙄... Issues are 99% of the time coming from the human side, not the material side of the industry. They all use the same kind, or grade, and they all claim they have the best or totally different than the other manufacturer you are comparing your purchase with 🙄. Remember and do never forget, the turnaround in Elkhart is phenomenal. Yet always within the same manufacturers. Everyone knows everyone. It is a small community worth visiting 😉. Then you will understand the tight knit industry.

@@blueoxontherun9188 totally agree. I used to build Beaver Motor Coaches and when we were hired they said we would work 4 10 hour shifts. Lol. That quickly turned into 5 10 hour shifts than 6 10 hour shifts. We were tired and being rushed to get the Rv out and we were always told we are behind.

I looked at some newer 2021 and up travel trailers. Was looking for a 2 person perfect floorplan. Pretty much all the newer ones looked cheaply built to me. Looked at a Apex Nano and material was garbage. I don't camp alot, but We do a 2 week river rafting trip every year and is 110-120 degrees there. Found a 2016 FR primetime Tracer executive m-230fbs, $12000. I cant find a thing wrong with it, used moisture meter, not even a scratch inside, oven never used, no signs of leaks or damage anywhere. I owned 5 past rv's/and trailers. Guy was very ocd i bought it from, the real wood was a plus also and he replaced dinet with a double recliner which i would have done if it did not have it and looks factory. He gave me many other items, weight distribution hitch, lock, cover, k cup machine, he put on goodyear tires and 2 new deep cycle batteries. I just brought it home a couple days ago. Going to go over it again and double tripple check everything, but right now i am feeling like i got a great deal.

This is the first time that all the big (drivable) manufactuers will show their new 2025 models at the same time and place with factory people to answer questions. Let me know what you think.

I have done a walk thu on a tiffin, that normally is a nice coach! But the butt head selling it NEVER did anything to cleaning or keep up the maintenance. There was mushrooms growing out of the carpet behind the passenger seat!🤣🤣🤣
Wait. Are these pre-owned units? Dubious to blame the MFG on poor ventilation practices by a owner causing mold, eh? Do you wear a respirator when you work on these moldy units?
The best ones? That MUST be an RV which has no wood involved. So an RV or Trailer which is completely from aluminum, Stainless Steel or and Azdel - no wood at all. So, ATC as a company comes immediately to mind since ATC is about of the only one who does not use wood at all in their trailers.
@@blueoxontherun9188 Yes. The ATC trailers crack over time even on the frame. Since it is aluminum and it tends to crack over time. That's why I would consider these ATC trailer "destination trailers" as bungalow and tiny home replacements. You do not move them around but let them deliver and consider them as "house on wheels" for the time an chinese invasion is going on and we have to mover further up north or south. I would not constantly travel with aluminum framed RV's. But... they never rust nor get water damage. If everything is aluminum and Azdel, there never will be mold or water damage. THAT is the main purpose of all aluminum trailers. ATC floorplans are a bit small but they do not have slides which will eventually fail one day. Yes aluminum is prone to crack. Just put thicker aluminum - but then builders get cheaped out and then the too thin aluminum cracks. I like the concept of Timberwolf with an built in veranda but then their trailer is to small and contains wood. I suggest ATC does an Timberwulf design 2 story trailer of 70 feet long including 2 verandas on both ends. Kind of an destination bungalow trailer RV. To tow with an semi truck or do an gypsie wagon type of trailer with an agricultural like moving front axle. Tow with an tractor. That'll do it. All aluminum and Azdel with 3 inch isopor foam walls and off ya go. I designed an RV trailer and sent that to Silbert Wohnmobile (Silbert RV's) in Germany but never heard back from them. Knaus Tabbert Wohnmobile (RV) in Hessen has an interesting CNC machines foam aluminum sandwich wall for the RV which withstands alaskan winters since it has in it about 3 inch isopor hard foam. My RV design was an modular mix of the technology of ATC (USA), traditional Gypsie wagons and Knaus Tabbert (Germany) RV's, easy to fix, no wood, all aluminum and Azdel or Stainless Steel and the like made for canadian winters. Seems to nobody interesting in it and everybody likes the shitty construction quality of modern pretty over functionality RV manufacturing.

Slide outs sound like a nightmare in general. Such a heavy mechanical structure subjected to weathering for perhaps days at a time while camping is bound to always eventually have problems regardless of how much you maintain
A simple no slide out camper even if it’s small is the way to go (at least for me)

What kind of moisture meter are you using, I have an older one I used in home inspection but it's a pin type. When the sprinkler line in the attic of a hotel I worked at froze up and flooded the top floors, I used a thermal gun to see how far up the wall the water went up. Water or moisture will give you a good higher temp. My daughter is going to trade in her Thor in March and this time I am going with her!

Issues are 99% of the time coming from the human side, not the material side of the industry.
They all use the same kind, or grade, and they all claim they have the best or totally different than the other manufacturer you are comparing your purchase with 🙄.
Remember and do never forget, the turnaround in Elkhart is phenomenal. Yet always within the same manufacturers. Everyone knows everyone. It is a small community worth visiting 😉. Then you will understand the tight knit industry.
Dutch star too much money, solitude is still on the consideration, but the price of new trucks to tow it with is prohibitively expensive

@@blueoxontherun9188 totally agree. I used to build Beaver Motor Coaches and when we were hired they said we would work 4 10 hour shifts. Lol. That quickly turned into 5 10 hour shifts than 6 10 hour shifts. We were tired and being rushed to get the Rv out and we were always told we are behind.

I looked at some newer 2021 and up travel trailers. Was looking for a 2 person perfect floorplan. Pretty much all the newer ones looked cheaply built to me. Looked at a Apex Nano and material was garbage. I don't camp alot, but We do a 2 week river rafting trip every year and is 110-120 degrees there. Found a 2016 FR primetime Tracer executive m-230fbs, $12000. I cant find a thing wrong with it, used moisture meter, not even a scratch inside, oven never used, no signs of leaks or damage anywhere. I owned 5 past rv's/and trailers. Guy was very ocd i bought it from, the real wood was a plus also and he replaced dinet with a double recliner which i would have done if it did not have it and looks factory. He gave me many other items, weight distribution hitch, lock, cover, k cup machine, he put on goodyear tires and 2 new deep cycle batteries. I just brought it home a couple days ago. Going to go over it again and double tripple check everything, but right now i am feeling like i got a great deal.

You might look at being avalible because this is a event for buyers and they might need/want an inspection. This is the first time that all the big (drivable) manufactuers will show their new 2025 models at the same time and place with factory people to answer questions. Let me know what you think.

Wait. Are these pre-owned units? Dubious to blame the MFG on poor ventilation practices by a owner causing mold, eh? Do you wear a respirator when you work on these moldy units?
We don't typically have any equipment to wear as respirator. We never expect mold to be part of an RV, new or used, typically 😉
The best ones? That MUST be an RV which has no wood involved. So an RV or Trailer which is completely from aluminum, Stainless Steel or and Azdel - no wood at all.
So, ATC as a company comes immediately to mind since ATC is about of the only one who does not use wood at all in their trailers.
We had a fleet of aluminum trailers...🤨 that's how a became a pro at welding aluminum
@@blueoxontherun9188 Yes. The ATC trailers crack over time even on the frame. Since it is aluminum and it tends to crack over time. That's why I would consider these ATC trailer "destination trailers" as bungalow and tiny home replacements. You do not move them around but let them deliver and consider them as "house on wheels" for the time an chinese invasion is going on and we have to mover further up north or south. I would not constantly travel with aluminum framed RV's.
But... they never rust nor get water damage. If everything is aluminum and Azdel, there never will be mold or water damage. THAT is the main purpose of all aluminum trailers. ATC floorplans are a bit small but they do not have slides which will eventually fail one day. Yes aluminum is prone to crack. Just put thicker aluminum - but then builders get cheaped out and then the too thin aluminum cracks.
I like the concept of Timberwolf with an built in veranda but then their trailer is to small and contains wood.
I suggest ATC does an Timberwulf design 2 story trailer of 70 feet long including 2 verandas on both ends. Kind of an destination bungalow trailer RV. To tow with an semi truck or do an gypsie wagon type of trailer with an agricultural like moving front axle. Tow with an tractor. That'll do it. All aluminum and Azdel with 3 inch isopor foam walls and off ya go.
I designed an RV trailer and sent that to Silbert Wohnmobile (Silbert RV's) in Germany but never heard back from them. Knaus Tabbert Wohnmobile (RV) in Hessen has an interesting CNC machines foam aluminum sandwich wall for the RV which withstands alaskan winters since it has in it about 3 inch isopor hard foam.
My RV design was an modular mix of the technology of ATC (USA), traditional Gypsie wagons and Knaus Tabbert (Germany) RV's, easy to fix, no wood, all aluminum and Azdel or Stainless Steel and the like made for canadian winters.
Seems to nobody interesting in it and everybody likes the shitty construction quality of modern pretty over functionality RV manufacturing.
