    "If you can't do it slow, you certainly can't do it fast." This is a very, very, very wise piece of advice that holds true in so many cases where we're trying to master some new skill or ability -not just in martial arts. And it speaks to the art of teaching as well: an effective teacher does not rush the learner beyond the current level of proficiency.

      True brother, that was my mistakes in the class and now I know how to learn and I will know how to teach someone, I always wanted to be fast and yet doing the techniques wrong, slow but sure is the best way of learning martial arts techniques, after you manage to do it slowly and later on you increase your speed

    Top class instructor. You make it seem so easy to follow , observing the moves of the student carefully and correcting the mistakes on the way.... Step by step does it. Thank you for your wonderful instruction.

    It's called "reflex action" when you're trying to make it a natural reaction. She's anticipating and is always timid. Practice Practice Practice is the key. Make it feel like a dance move you're showing off in the club, streets, church, etc.

    I’ve watched three of these videos now and I just realized that Krav Maga is the style of defense Jennifer Lopez was using in the movie Enough. I kinda noticed it in the first video but it became more clear with this video.

    Keeping the head up eliminates important leverage between the arm/shoulder and the neck/jaw. We always teach students to tuck their chin.

    • @TheNightfly84
      @TheNightfly84 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's the same we do, Adrian. Looking up is pretty dangerous, because your exposing the whole throat and putting its muscles in a compromised form (too much stretch, less tension). Tucking the chin lowers the attackers ability to push really deep into the throat, so in my opinion this is absolutely vital. Furthermore I prefer controlling the opponent by grabbing his right hand immediately with my left (I'm right-handed) and pulling it firmly to my chest while raising the right arm and breaking the choke by turning to the left - all in one motion of course. By doing so I pull him right into a perfect position for my ellbow and he can not escape too easy.

    Hi, I think the immediate reaction is likely panic, so I would need to train myself to have the muscle memory to automatically react with these defensive/offensive moves. I'm afraid that, if encountering a real-world situation, I would forget all about learned moves.

    • @danielwebster5748
      @danielwebster5748 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      That's why daily training with rest periods in between is essential even if you're a brown belt you should come back and practice these white belt moves and master all of them all the way up to where ever you rank I think this is a good defense especially for women but for anyone that wants to be able to not be a victim Krav Maga is typically more expensive than other martial arts and to me there is a good reason why to me every other Training Day with repetitions even till it gets tiring is the only way these will work and someday could possibly save your life to me this is a very good martial art for anyone especially women who more often than not are the victims

    • @PILATUS1968
      @PILATUS1968 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      repetition is what makes you lethal once you master the moves enough you never forget. its automatic, no matter what style, as long as is Kung fu based.

    U ovakvoj situaciji je najefikasnije uraditi napadaču polugu na prstima i istovremeno mu zadati nogom udarac u genitalije. Po meni je to najpraktičnije i izvodljivo je i na najjačem napadaču.

    certainly you escape from the choke with this technique, but is it this dangerous for the amount of nerves down of our shoulder? i mean that it's a very sensitive part as same at the neck, and if you raise your arm up, you expose you to be hit

    • @eze2576
      @eze2576 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kicks, knees. Scratch the eyes. Try to rip their ears off. You could do a shin rake, where you use the edge of your shoe and run it down their shin like you're scraping the skin off. This is just one beginner level escape. There are infinite number of ways, but like he said, it depends on your size and capabilities.

    that is good but turning your back to soon to run could sometimes be more dangerous. All so there is quite often more than one person to deal with. Had to go to the aid of a girl being pushed around by 5 men, I did scare them off pretty quick but if they would of came back at me more than once, would of had to do blows that put them down for a long time not just a few seconds . One thing we use to teach was take out the knee if possible before running off. Even with a kick to the groin some guys can recover very quickly and take after you, so unless you could out run them, turning away to quick night not be a good idea. I am now 72 and have gotten way out of shape, stopped training at 65 and that was a big mistake, that is why I am looking in to Krav Maga Not so much for my self but is I see any one in need I want to be able to go to there defense, no mater what the odds are.

    Here in Britain, if someone attacks you, you can legally smash up their arm and then stomp on their knee so they cant follow you. I'm not kidding, criminal violence can cost you an arm and a leg.

    i am sorry but why would you want to point to the sky? and turn and step back she s losing balance, when you can just do a kick to the groin, or from there point across instead of up, chop down block, and follow up with hammer, punch, kick to the knee grab the eyes punch the throat, solar plex etc do a combo or something, but this first step, pointing upwards, is seens compromising to the defender. sorry this is very similar to a Shaolin style I learned a while back but shorter moves faster and more efficient, as deadly as this one, no mercy on ther opponents. (non competition kung fu)

    I'm 66, a retired fed bodyguard, ex ranger- and have been in over 1000 confrontations in my career- lost 2- and NOT ONE TIME has anyone attempted to 'choke" or even 'grab' me.. I trained in defense against these things too- but it never ever happened- on the streets, or in the jungles. or anywhere else Ive been. I was almost tken out-- by a TRUCK-- got mashed between two trucks in 99.. that ended my bodyguard work.. 23 years ago- and I'm still not over it- but as I said- not ONCE was I ever grabbed or chokes attempted... in 1000 confrontations.. NOT SAYING it doesn't happen-- just it never happened to ME.
