Short deck: All of the 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and 5’s are removed from the standard 52-card pack leaving a game where only 36 cards are used. This means the 6 is the lowest card…. Unless you use an Ace as low. As in traditional Hold’em the Ace can be used as either a High or Low, but in the Short Deck version of the game it can also make up the low and high ends of a straight. As in: • A 6 7 8 9 is classed as a straight (In this example the Ace is classed as a ‘5’) In Short Deck Hold’em • A Flush beats a Full House - This is because mathematically it is harder to make a flush than a full house from the reduced deck. In regular Hold’em, players with suited hole cards and two community cards of the same suit have nine cards in the deck from which to make a Flush. Playing the Short Deck game reduces this to five cards. This means a Flush is far harder to hit.
I was so confused before I seen yall message I was about to turn this shit off because I couldn’t figure out what the fuck was going on.This shit is crazy, this is one hella of a game fr.
Yong had 3 9's and 2 Queens. Phil Ivey had a club flush. As far as I have ever known, 3 9's and 2 Queens is a full house and a full house is supposed to ALWAYS beat a flush. So why didn't it happen this time? ☹☹😞😞👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤❓❓❔❔⁉⁉
They're playing on short deck meaning the 2, 3, 4 and 5 cards have been removed so 6 is the lowest card available. At 10:23 Rudoy would need the turn card to be a 7, 9, Q or A to improve to a straight draw, a K would give Phil a set but if the river was a J then Rudoy would get a full house, and a J would give him a set. Therefore, the safest card for Ivey is 6 as Rudoy will have no chance of connecting with the board even if the river comes. Flush will also beat a full house as the probability of obtaining a flush is now lower in a short deck.
He probably feelt there’s another little asian with to much money that play the ”all in go for luck game” and they always get lucky so he resigned. Skill wise there is no comparing!
I knew that they were gonna make another poker game off of Texas Hold”em” I just didn’t know that they already did it.Can’t wait to really learn how to play it
Love it when the pros" are telling us that poker is a 100% skill game. LOL, GTFO. Flopping 2 pair and then a boat is skill? Pockets queens are skill? AK is skill?? Ace of clubs and 8 is a skill when there are 4 clubs on the board? And so on. This is a joke. We all play good poker with good or great hands. Surely there is skills needed but this game is largely luck, short run 90-95%, long run around 75%.
It's interesting hearing these winners get interviewed from high roller events vs. the winners in lower stakes/higher turnout tournaments. These high roller guys are totally calm... Just another day at the office.
07:44 why didn't Yong win with full house 9 over Q?? How does a A high flush ever beat a boat? unless I'm missing something? edit: @freddiegibbs101 explains "short deck" variant of Hold 'em
Full house bests flush guys they messed up dude had pocket nines hits three of a kind and then runner runner queens for a full house over the ace high flush
The commentators on these poker vids from FuryTv is somewhat strange i belive. I dont know if the sound engineer on this one is drunk or maybe play a sidegame on his phone or something. It’s like this on all of them. Commentators sound as if they are in different rooms and at the same time as if they sat right next to the table. Maybe it’s there voices i dont know but they sound weird. And if you Ask me (i know no1 does) they are really bad in commentating.
We are back! Hope you enjoy our comeback video!

Great explanation thank you !
Thank you for that!!!
7:45 Please someone explain to me how come Phil won this hand when The other guy had full house…
Exactly what I was thinking.. I even checked it three times if I am missing something?
Same here i was like WTF, Am i missing something? it was doing my head in thinking i forgot the rules or something. Strange
so i just read on and its short deck. that would explain it.
Error
the commentators noted out during some point in the video that this game has a rule where flush beats a full house .. Hope i helped
amazing climb back from Phil. !! -- from 70k shortttttt stack after an All in...and to champ!! ivey ivey ivey
Doesnt mention Short Deck anywhere in the description
Yeah, I only ended up in the comments to check after the flush v boat hand.
7:32.. what the hell, how flush can beat full house 999 QQ tell me O.x
Phil Ivey the GOAT
Nope. Ivey is overrated
If you figure it out, he is just lucky. He was caught, outplayed by everyone at first hand and he got lucky.
@@stevest8675n how much have u made from poker. shut up

why does flush beat full house in this?
Am I missing something at 7:55?? Yong has a boat and Ivey only has the nuts?? How’d he win
that's my question too. when did flush beat full house?
yer what is going on??? is this not no limit holdem .. so confused.

Not in short deck which is what they are playing here, short deck removes cards 2-5, making flush rank higher than Full House. :)
I like the biker Buddha shirt on Phil Ivey - it is pretty cool.
this is nuts vs 2nd nuts. In commentary they said there were 2 better hands than Kc8c but of course opponent having Kc10c is impossible
😊Am I missing something? Pocket 9s, board K79QQ. Is that not a full house? No one catches it, Yong or the announcers!
My apologies, didn’t realize it was short deck. 😡
Last I checked, 3 nines and 2 queens is a full house and that beats the hell out of a flush. What the hell kind of poker is this?
Gotta add the context that they’re playing short deck please
man last two hands were brutal luck for Yong, but hey, that's poker
Quad aces and literally no reaction after scooping the pot. Stone cold killer.
can someone plz explain why at @10:23 the 6 makes ivey's hand stronger ?and as wel as why at@7:25 the flush beats the full house? thanks a lot

I don’t get it , how 99 fold to on 8:00?
full house loses to flush so has very little value on 4 club board
At 7:40 how does a full house not beat a flush? I’m very confused how did Ivey win that
Why do you think Phil went all in on QJ. Maybe just felt like he had it or idk kind of weird

Full house beats a flush
Yong didnt call the 100k bet with his full House....
with 4 clubs on board, full house has very little value in short deck. Any club wins
Why does a Full House lose to a Flush??
at 7:34 yong had full house and fill had straight. yong folds and the comentator says nice fold. wtf
Почему на 7:32 побеждает флеш а не фулл хаус? я что то не поняла.
