Thanks for this. My issue was that it was charging just fine, but when trying to place it on the dock for updating both firmware, it would just stay stuck at asking to place headset on base even though it was 100% on there perfectly. So I opened it up like you did, but using a hair dryer to warm up the double sided tape on the inner soft cushions so as not to tear them up, and low & behold on of the wires running to the gold contacts on the bottom that connects on to the base pins, was so loose that it came off as soon as I touched it. Weird how it still charged okay! But whatever....So I dropped a spot of solder on to it, closed it back up, reheated the padding tape, plced the cushions back, closed it up, put it on the base, ran the update & PROBLEM SOLVED! Recognized the headset no problem. Hope it helps someone who has any similar issue with base not recognizing the headset. :)
