I decided up leave Vietnam but wasn't sure where to go and as I was walking through Saigon I saw a bus journey from ho chi minh to phnom penh and I have been wanting to go back to Cambodia and explore for a while so I just decided to book a ticket with a bus company and go

Im surprised it was so easy entering from the Vietnam side, a few years ago I went from Thailand to Cambodia, that was not easy or hassle free at all!

Going to Cambodia tomorrow for a border run. It suck's to trust these van drivers. But I got stuck and took too long. So now I have to run for the border.

Interesting, but try to get out of district 1, when you get back. It is convenient but LOTS of foreigners. I think maybe go to Vung Tau or Dalat. Or something else, but get away from the main district in Ho Chi Minh. Way too touristy.

The idea of someone else holding your passport while overseas is strange. I would feel so naked. Did you still have to talk to the border official? Or do they have a trust system with the bus company?

Hi Tom, instead of giving your passport can you give Identification another form of ID. We’re traveling around Asia as well
when they ask for passports we give ID instead, if we needed to show our passport we’ll be the one to hand it over, NOT pass to other hands then get it back later? Passport is your life. Anyway maybe you know something , we don’t know the process of a certain trip you’re taking. Your smart, you know what your doing ( I hope, smile, joke)

Maybe a cool idea for a video is which Asian country you feel you get overcharged on goods and services the most. Like a Philippines vs Thailand vs. Vietnam. I have visited all of them, but I have only lived in the Philippines. I understand as a tourist your gonna pay a premium, but I am more interested in which country you feel the overcharging is more out of control to the point it turns you off and is more than just a slight inconvenience? Just FYI to anyone thinking that this is picking on Asian countries, there are places in Europe I won't visit due to how out of hand the grifting on tourist has become.

Just ask for your Passport while your on the Bus and she will tell you when they will return it to you, you have to get an Entry Stamp into Cambodia dont you, thats why they havent returned it to you yet, wakey wakey. 😃
