  • Hey Friends, So today we have to do a border run, travel with us by bus from Bangkok, Thailand to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
    This bus was heaps better than we were expecting and made for a really easy travel day. The service was exceptional & the bus was super comfy.
    It made travelling 8.5 hours a breeze & they even helped us with our visas.
    We would recommend travelling with Giant Ibis any day.
    See link below for Giant Ibis.

    I am going to be doing this trip in a few weeks and I am glad to hear that I booked it the right way. I have only ever heard good things about Giant Ibis and it is nice to see that their praises are still valid. I hope you have a great time in Siem Reap. I can't wait to see it for myself.

      Great to hear! We did A LOT of research on the best company to use after the debacle that was our ferry crossing in Bali to the Gili islands.
      Giant ibis did a fantastic job and made the stress of travel soooo much easier than the usual circus that is long travel in SEA.
      Hope you have a great time here too my man! We have loved it so far and will definitely be back to explore more of Siem reap and Cambodia as a whole! 😊

    Guys, you are travelling in style to Cambodia, those seats looks the works😅😅😂
    Glad that you had a comfortable ride and also showing the countryside and the Cambodian boarder. Looking at the coach the build is by Hyundai.
    Your apartment looks nice for the price you paid. You are spoiled by the coach on board services.
    Glad you got there safely and thanks for the vlog.

    Looks like a pretty chilled day of travel - room looks nice. I'm jumping on the plane tomorrow night back to Sydney via Coolangatta - no free snacks or meals on that trip - and I wouldn't be getting out to stretch my legs but its only 5.5 hours.

    • @francandsarah

      It was a very easy travel day for us.
      Have a safe flight, we’ve done the flight from Brisbane to Kuta airport… similar situation, no
      Free snacks or meals, no entertainment & kids screaming the whole time on our flight 🤣.
      We were off it by the time We landed, at least it was a short flight.
      Hope you have a good travel day & a peaceful flight! 😊

      Thanks! It’s been pain free and super easy!
      How do you go about your runs to Laos? Bus? Train or other? Looking to visit there sometime this year

    • @kryme6000
      @kryme6000 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@francandsarah I always take the bus directly from Bangkok to Vientiane. It usually is very seamless, you only need to get off the bus once to cross the Thai-Laos friendship bridge in Nong Kai, so I’d recommend going that route:-) I love Vientiane, it’s such a relaxing town and a great break from the busy city life^^ gotta check out the new high speed train though next time😊 safe travels and enjoy your stay!✌️

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks heaps for the info, this might be something we do next time! We’d love to check out Vientiane. What bus company did you use for the Laos border crossing?
      Vientiane sounds like our vibe. 🙌🏽

      @kryme6000 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@francandsarah you’re welcome :-) I know only about the bus that leaves at the mo chit bus terminal in Bangkok. I think it is run by the state owned bus company (also always the cheapest option 😂) and leaves like twice a day in the evening so you arrive at the border in the early morning :-) looking forward to your next videos, cheers ✌️

    Interesting. What were the costs of transportation, hotel etc?
    Do you have to overnight in Cambodia or could you literally just go through the immigration to get your passport stamped and then return to Thailand to get a new passport stamp and visa on arrival, or whatever?

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! Hopefully this is helpful, we made a video of booking Cambodia & it’s all time stamped so you can scroll to the costs etc…
      th-cam.com/video/T_0D_TE6Q90/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FXNHsekZrCSvFMq9
      This particular service, Giant Ibis, you’d have to spend a night in Siem Reap then go back.
      There are services that offer a “border bounce” so you can go through and get your stamps but be careful doing that as we’ve heard they are becoming more strict with border bounces.
      Apparently Poipet border is one of the more strict but some of the quieter borders are less strict from what we’ve read 😊

    How was the entry back into Thailand, did you have any issues from immigration. I would love to do this trip but worried about them not letting me back in :)

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! We filmed the trip back in & it’ll be out soon 😊
      Let’s just say… we’re stuck in Siem Reap 🤣
      Nah jk were in Thailand.
      I think it definitely depends on how many times you’ve been in and out recently, we’ve heard it can be a bit sketchy, specially if you just do a border bounce (in then out again straight away) 😊

    Sorry if I missed it guys but did u do a breakdown of cost? I heard the “visa” at 1400thb but missed the bus ride price per person

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      All good! We put the price in the previous video planning the trip, but for the bus it was $176 USD return trip for 2 people 🙏🙏

    • @kohtime
      @kohtime 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@francandsarah that’s great thank you :) that’s quite an expense, is that every 60 days with a 1900thb extension or is that monthly?

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For us it is every 60 days on our visa. We can extend each time for the 1900 baht and get the extra 30 days.
      But there’s other options too! Border bounces are available and cheaper as well. But being here, with this channel, we decided to spend more to experience Cambodia and to see if it is a place we would like to visit for a longer time.
      And so far so very good, we are loving it and will definitely be back to explore more and just enjoy this wonderful country!

    • @johnoconnor7958
      @johnoconnor7958 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi guys enjoyed your video. I will subscribe few mins. Question: do you know if when you return to Thailand can you get second one extention on your second visit to Thailand. I am Irish guy living in Sydney but want to get heat on my back in SEA winter time Aus. Thanks again

    • @francandsarah
      @francandsarah  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnoconnor7958 Hey mate! We are on a Multi entry tourist visa, valid for 6 months. We are able to be in the country for 2 months at a time, with ability to extend for 30 days at an expense of about 1900 baht each time. The visa is valid for 6 months from issue. But if you arrive only a few days before the expiry then you can ‘technically’ be here for a total of 9 months.
      It costs approximately $300 AUD for the visa and well worth it in our opinion.
      We hope this helps! And we hope you enjoy this wonderful country 🙏😊
