love your thinking. Practical. My thoughts are to retire in PH, do the same minimalist living. then...get some land and build a Nipa Hut. SOLAR Aircon and appliances. NO RECURRING BILLS. Imagine what you could save and invest.

You really surprise me! I’ve been super paranoid about how much to save for the PH but that room seems pleasant enough for only $100 a month?!
Unbelievable! That’s more than enough for a couple.

Tom, I enjoy your videos, they make me think, I'm not sure if I agree or disagree on your move, I don't know your financial position. For me, I think this video more than any other, made me really take a look at my lifestyle and ask the question, what am I willing to give up? Could I live there? Yes!, BUT would I live there with a beautiful girlfriend, not sure? I guess if I'm living on love and there is no other way, I could do it. I think your set of videos on living quarters shows how a person can go from one lifestyle to another, it's all about what you are willing to pay for a certain standard of living. Financial constraints cause people to live in some less than desirable places, hopefully, things will change for you and MJ soon. I'm not trying to be critical, I'm soul searching.

So, I have a question that I hope is not too personal. I'm moving to SE Asia in a few years when my pension is where I expect it, along with other retirement accounts. How do people your age move abroad and support yourselves longterm? Are you returning back to Australia to work? I'm curious about the long game. I see many young people living abroad like you guys, but I feel like I need to have the financial security to live that lifestyle. Any thoughts on this subject?

Can you answer in your next video. How is internet and Netflix. Because if that is good. Then some someone could have a month holiday instead of like just a week. Thanks so much!

Yea I'm interested in your internet situation you got a good deal.by the sounds of it is the wifi alright ? I had a western friend who had a similar setup but no wifi and shared bathroom but looks similar to your current set up i think he paid alot less but just be careful with your valuables when you go out he had some problems .
when I was in cebu I used globe I would use gosurf50 2gb for 2days I could never find any good deals for big data it was like 1k for 5gb or 10gb I cant remember but it was not cheap I even had a portable wifi thinking there would be better data deals but no not when I was there, so I made sure I would have wifi where ever I stayed but the first place was super slow allways cutting out I told the guy at the front office he said it was my laptops fault so updated everything thinking he was telling the truth but still the same haha. then I stayed in deca homes on mandaue by the san mig factory private rent 12.5k nice big aircon room hot shower and cooking space had half decent wifi for the phillipeans cant complain to much not great but not to worst could stream a movie with a bit of buffering then I got a airbnb just off highway mandaue not far from ayala had alright wifi allways made sure where I stayed had a half decent connection got to pay the extra but was easyer . . I would just buy DVDs most the time and listen to pre downloaded music . Phillipeans allways got the latest movies if you know the spot in colon is 5 DVDs for 100 Peso for new releases
