Its a Wildey 475. Its Charles Bronsons gun from Death Wish 3. Also in A Low Down Dirty Shame, The Hard Way and others . www.imfdb.org/wiki/Wildey Very expensive and hard to find.
I saw this much later than Trancers, in fact I remember being WAY too excited about finding this one- thinking I'd watched every cool flick available that was like it. This was before the internet for me. I had the ma and pa vhs rental place literally two blocks away on my avenue. Wow, I did have an awesome childhood.
I love your reviews, Cecil. TH-cam has become an ocean of either straight-forward and to the point reviewers, or those reviewing a film just for the sheer fun of mocking it. You fall somewhere in between. You're not afraid to make fun of certain aspects of a film, especially when it's a dated effect that hasn't aged well, but your love and respect for the movie you're discussing is always present. You shed light on what goes on behind the scenes in a way that makes the movie even more enduring. It's crazy how many movies you've covered that I saw when I was kid and thought very few people had even heard of, let alone watched. Every video brings back another childhood memory.,I rented a metric fuck ton of movies when I was younger and I can't remember half of them. Now, on a side note, I do have a request. I don't know if you've seen Murder Party, but I am almost positive you would love it. It's written and directed by Jeremy Sauner, who also wrote and directed the underrated but excellent Blue Ruin, as well as the highly and well-deserved praised movie, Green Room. Murder Party is such a fun movie to watch. I was so lucky to stumble across it a few years ago and I have been suggesting it to friends since. I'd love to see you cover it.
I still love the "its Raining Men" part at 2:46. Its amazing and WOW the gore of two guys exploding into Ludicrous Gibs. One guy doesnt have lungs anymore yet still tries to reach for his gun, talks, and smokes.
literally just made my day with the suicidal tendencies reference. seriously. i can't say thank you enough! i might just leave a comment every minute for the next forever. so good!!!
I didn't realized when I started watching this episode that not only have I seen this movie, but I loved this movie when I was a kid. There is another film from around the same time, also about good guy alien chasing bad guy alien, that I really liked called 'Peacemaker.'
If any film's got Tim Thomerson in the lead then it gets my vote!! The movie is cheap, badly made and over acted but it's still faaar more entertaining and fun than most huge budget blockbusters that do the rounds these days!!
back when i was at college (99) i can remember seeing this on the shelf at the local 2nd hand video shop, i almost bought it so many times because it was always there like it was waiting for me to buy it, now i know it was really there because nobody gave a crap and rightfully so, thanks!
2:48 Now that's real firepower there LOL! 4:12 LOL! 8:25 Agreed he had some good lines in this film especially this one ''YOUR IN THE FUCKING NEIGHBORHOOD DEADHEAD!''-Braxton/Jackie Early Haley91
So many of your videos remind me of movies i haven't seen in years. thanks for all your hard work making these and i am sure reminding so many of us of our childhoods
I love it when you do a Full Moon production. The reviews are always fun to watch. I also recall Frank Collison playing in the show Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman as a telegraph operator named Horace.
I met Tim Thomerson way back in college when he was mainly just doing stand-up. Helluva nice guy. He hadn't even done Trancers yet! I razzed him a bit when I started doing the theme from Quark, which he didn't seem to be too fond of, but thanked me for both knowing the show and that he was in it.
"Psychic Severed Head" may be the most obscure reference that I actually understood all year. "If you scrunch his face in, he looks like Phil Collins."
This is a great flick to throw on during a get together. Picked it up w/Dollman Vs Demonic Toys and Bad Channels. Can't wait to watch Bad Channels tonight!
The Subspecies soundtracks are amazing, especially 2 & 3. I always wanted to get them back in my OST collecting days, but they were hella rare\expensive imports. Speaking of which, when's he gonna review the rest of the Subspecies flicks, huh?
I like how the kroager blaster is just an unmodified weildy surviver magnum. It wasn't even new at the time. It's even heavily featured in death wish lol
1:24 *Fun Fact:* The Groger Blaster was portrayed by the Wildey. Yes, the same type of .475 Wildey Magnum made famous by Charles Bronson in *Deth* Wish 3. 6:22 It's a flipped image. Sam Raimi uses that so-called "technique" all the time. A lot of directors do. They think it improves continuity, but it actually ruins it, especially if there's any visible text anywhere in the scene. You know that basement scene in Evil Dead 2 that everyone complains about because Ash appears to be wearing his chainsaw on his left arm instead of his right? Same deal. If people looked at the chainsaw, they would have seen that the blade was offset to the left (no one makes chainsaws that way). Plus, Ash's shirt appears to fasten right over left (no one makes men's work shirts that way). Plus, Bruce appears to raise his left eyebrow instead of his right. Plus, there's the arrangement of wounds on his face.
That kid that got called "fat boy" is Cody Burger. He was also in Heavyweights, D3 and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I went to Middle & High School with him.

The Dollman blu-ray allows you to appreciate that it's actually reasonably well shot for a cheapie, but the opening scenes on another planet have been obviously regraded. The original version had a sepia look. That was removed for the HD transfer.
One of my favortie reviews you have done. Quick observation: Sproog = other successful things you mentioned = yes, the Hot dog guy from the happening = Annnnnnnnd the movie projector victim in The Blob 1986. Dude has had an interesting career.
I'm wondering if you'll do Guillermo Del Toro's Mimic. I'd love to see you analyse it for details: like how Del Toro turned down directing David Fincher's Seven to do it, but they both surprisingly have similar opening credits, how even thought Del Toro said the world was too dark in Seven: had children murdered in Mimic and The Judas bug being a reference to the biblical character. if not, then how about your thoughts on Pacific Rim?
huh. I always used to see this video at my local video rental place and I had no idea it was a ....comedy? of sorts? idk your reviews always put a smile on my fucking face. lol

The first time I saw Dollman that early scene in the laundry room just killed me. Then him being found by kids, I thought this is great. And it was.
The footage was from the Buck Rodgers TV series.
Well spotted
The night shot of the city was also used again for the 80s sitcom, Out of this World.
Was it the one with the teenager who could stop time?
Roger Morris
Yeah, cheesy, but good.
Yeah I remember seeing that on cable and going, "Buck Rogers"?
