    You can scale per pattern by adding a scaler to the track fx. The input parameter of the scaler allows you to specify a scale to use. This would be shared by all patterns of the track, but if you lock it by pressing the encoder it can have a different value for each pattern.

    Whilst in Step, if you press and hold Live and you will jump to that screen to pick a new chord, then when you release Live and you’ll be back on Step. It can help speed up jumping between the 2 screens.

    This is one of the best explanations of the Hapax chord and scale features. Such a shame you didnt go on to cover other elements. Huge thanks for this

    Very helpful, thanks so much for this video! So much to explore with this amazing sequencer!

    What a fantastic watch. I’m learning MIDI at the same time as I’m learning my Hapax because I’ve avoided MIDI for far too long out of some weird misplaced fear or something. I’m going to watch this several times as I really want to internalize some of the concepts here. Thank you!

    Bummed I missed this live, very informational! The GAS for a hapax is climbing!

    Cool video! Waiting to get mine in june. On the "fixed" scale project, maybe as a workaround, you can ditch the project scale and assign scale per track in the fxs menu, so to have more options to interpolate tracks scales to master transpose scale

    Awesome content man! I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I have a sequence that plays the following chords in the following order:Am7, Em Cm7(3). I would like to modulate these chords up and down the keybed, modulate the spread of the notes, and also modulate its rotations via an LFO. How would you go on about achieving this?

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! This might be something you can leverage the midi effects to do. Adding in the arp and harmony fx then sequencing their parameter changes

    Nice demo! Where did you get those knobs? Did you add washers and nuts to the pots?

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got them off Amazon! And yep, washers and nuts on the encoders

      @@Buildmusic could you share a link to the knobs and whatnot? Having trouble finding the right ones. Thanks!

    Thanks for this walkthrough. Can you tell me how well the hapax has worked with the expert sleepers fh2? I would love to be able to use this for triggering stuff in my rack beyond the cv outs... any latency or sync issues?

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its a solid combo. I was having some issues with sending a bunch of CC changes to the FH-2 would cause dropped notes, but that has been fixed with the latest Hapax firmware. That was also sending something like 40 CCs continuously changing as well which is very much a stress test :D

    • @andrewbingham3449

      Thanks for the response. Fingers crossed I can get this combo going.

    Hi is it possible to move all sequenced tracks simultaneously from one chord (or degree within a given scale) on the fly to another with a single touch of a button in real time like the OXi one can manage?
    So say in A Phrygian from ii-v-i for example in real time

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      To clarify, you're looking to live transpose all enabled tracks based on a chord choice? Yea this should be doable with the latest firmware and live-Playing on track 16

  • @DespairQuietlyPlease
    @DespairQuietlyPlease ปีที่แล้ว

    Does it have phrygian and harm minor? Where could i find a list of scales?

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Should be in the squarp website/manual

    • @Claidheambmor
      @Claidheambmor ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a very basic mode and a very basic scale, I would bet my house on them being in the Hapax.

    A single scale per project??? Really? what popular song doesn't use borrowed chords and/or scale changes? You should be able to sequence scale quantization just like transposition or any of the other midi Effects. Why the huge limitation? Was interested in the hapax until now.

    • @Buildmusic
      @Buildmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sounds like you should file a feature request!

    • @DuneArchitect
      @DuneArchitect 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can still have a different Scale on each track. You don't have to use the project scale

    • @visible7044
      @visible7044 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DuneArchitectso to play borrowed chords i have to use another track? sadly that does not sound very convenient or like a great flow.

    • @_B.C_
      @_B.C_ 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Why couldn’t you simply keep it in chromatic if you need to borrow notes if you’re just sequencing in popular songs?
