He didn't betray them they betrayed him. He tried to have them see reason but Achilles's own arrogance is what brought down the brotherhood. He warned them about how dangerous the precursor sites were but wouldn't listen. He allowed himself to be killed but survived.

99batran That's fine, but it doesn't fit in AC. I don't understand how people think that silent protagonists aid in immersion. Your protagonist doesn't have to be silent for your game to feel immersive.It breaks immersion for me when my character doesn't speak because it shows that my character isn't quite a part of the game world.

Well, silent Protagonists gives you the freedom and creativity to imagine what they look like. Kinda like character creation except without the creation part
desmond is alive in the end of AC3. finish the credit part, he will stand up there.
People hated Desmond. That's why.
Plus we aren't stuck being Altair and Connor.
Eliot, Edward, Shay, and The Frye twins are the only good assassin's and getting away from Desmond shows that.
i dont see whats so bad about this game. its not the pinnacle of excellence or any thing but its not bad. its just kind of above average. it just kind of adds to the story.

Assassins creed plot twist...Templars were the good guys all along
Both Assassin's and Templars are both right in their own way, but take things too extreme. An Anarchic society or Pure Democracy/Mob Rule that the assassin's want is a fucking pipe dream utopia. But the Templars suggestion for an Oligarchic Autocratic Statis order is very dangerous to be given trust to a few men who have their own interpretations of 'peace' while subjugating anyone their way. A Republic ruled by 3 branches of government divided composed of 2 or more parties is the only way of compromise between the two ideologies.
Yeah but Ubisoft should split the community where they are both good and they do evil kinda like Star wars with Sith and Jedi just a bit more balanced. Where "In my opinion this is bad" it will be interesting.

Not gonna lie Shay is really different than what I was expecting him to be. Sadly since Ezio the most interesting characters I have found were only Haytham and Shay. I just couldn't really get behind Arno or Connor. I was able to with Edward at the end of his game...just wished it hadn't taken so long for him to become an Assassin.

I wasn't expecting to see anything different that time I went back into the Animus so I missed part of it and turned the game off, hoping to catch it from the beginning again, but for some reason, it skipped to the part where he's looking out the window in bandages.

The AC series died after 3 in my opinion the last one I bought was Black Flag...and after years of being immersed in the storyline I just simply didn't give two shits after 3...and honestly it was because they killed Desmond...he goes through all this trouble just to basically get nothing accomplished...I played through 4 as quick as I could not having a damn clue about what was happening..for the first time enjoying the game more than the story...I was more interested in the pirate theme rather than the reason I bought all the other games...anyway 4 in my opinion was just a blur and I feel they could of at least had like a relative of Desmond take the story over or something...well I now I guess I'll see what happens as I'm finally gonna get back in touch with the story
