      I've got to say, since moving here 2 yrs ago, I realized the ins here is a scam. A lady hit me in a parking lot, she admitted 100% fault on video & to the ins. I went through her ins. MY INS RAISED MY RATES, AND MY HUBBY'S RATES, JUST FOR BEING A PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE. He never even went to the doctor! Scam, 100%!

    How quickly you dismiss those of us who advocate other ways of meeting people's needs! Since I moved to FL in 1982, I-4 has been widened multiple times, and it is obsolete before construction is completed. Will 26 lanes of I-4 be adequate? How many neighborhoods must be destroyed? Will DeSantis have imienent domain uproot him? Brite Line is great! Leadership is doing what needs to be done; not what gets you votes/makes you popular.

    I am all for roads but why keep building highways where the bigger the more cars until your road becomes constrained and limited. Why not take the right of way and use it for the Bright Line from Orlando to Tampa. It could have stops in Kissimmee, Lakland, Plant City, Brandon, Hard Rock Hotel and other strategic stops then the Airport which has set aside a tract of land to the Terminal.

    • @nolebucnaround8350

      @@nolebucnaround8350 That's the biggest issue. I live in Orlando and go to Miami often. I'd love to take the train but I'd have to go to the airport (closest station), pay to park or Uber, buy a ticket for $59 each way (x2 people) and then pay for a ride when I get to Miami. My wife and I can drive our SUV for around $25 in gas and $20 in tolls and have local transportation when we get there. If they had quick rent/shared cars or better local trains like the bigger cities it might be more feasible.

      Guess no one is aware that infrastructure is one of the ways he's getting developers to be his buddies. They're supposed to pay for infrastructure, yet desantis has done all he can to force us taxpayers to pay for it. Also, affordable housing? He screwed us on that, too. We are now having to pay, through our taxes, for affordable housing - through legislation that is very vague when dealing with the actual income part. It's called Live Local or some such. One county found that it will bankrupt them and passed an ordinance to prevent any developer from claiming Live Local status. Desantis also sold out the people of Florida when he was busy collecting favors for developers during his failed to run for president. Before you sing his praises, look at what he did to prevent citizens from challenging development. It's a freeforall down here as far as overdevelopment is concerned - all because he wants to run for president. He'll never win. People here are fed up with him.

    Lots of comments about the state helping with insurance premiums. A) you live in a state that is prone to hurricanes. The cost of rebuilding has gone up, thus your premiums go up. 2) you live in a state that is great partly because they are downsizing government…do you really want government intrusion on this issue? Another 20 years of construction. Most of this is happening in Miami
    They took 20 years to "finish" 826. 5 years to widen the lanes from Homestead and traffic is no better. Its just a way to fill their pockets with tax money

    How about Widening the Ronald Reagan Pkwy (Turnpike) from Central FL to Miami. 2 Lanes are a joke and danger when everybody is haulin' A...S at 80MPH Plus. Lets get it done. If we can give away $200 Billion to Ukraine, we ought to be able to take care of our infrastructure.

      The FL Turnpike is self-supporting through bond issuance. Did you notice the turnpike widening in Central Florida? Did you know that Kissimmee to Yehaw Junction is the longest section of highway without an exit in the USA? They will get to it.

No playing identity politics, no inclusion or inclusivity or the Latino or black community talk, no blaming the opposite Party or the Federal Government, just focus on plans and results that benefit ALL the residents in his State. The complete opposite of what the governor of California does.

    Most roads in Tampa are just like in any third world country. The streets and avenues are only patch. they aren’t paved completely . The street signs are not well maintained and many have the inside lights broken or the name are fade away that is hard to read it. In Bearss ave and Florida Av you can see it. The only road that is in good shape is Delmabry highway.

    • @mikelemoine4267
      @mikelemoine4267 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of those roads are county roads so the local government is to blame if they are not being maintained. They can apply to Tallahassee for state assistance.

      @@rodrigoquiroz8816 I'm in Orlando and the problem we have here is that the County approves huge new developments but doesn't charge much for impact fees or invest in the roads to support them. They claim they will wait for the tax money to come from the new development to pay for roads, but that means horrible traffic for 5 years after each place opens until they fix it. A new place opens all the time, so it never ends. Our roads are fairly smooth, but maybe that's because you can't get over 10 mph sometimes🙂

    At some point there needs to be an i4 to i75 south connector having to go from Orlando to Tampa then south all the way to the Sarasota area and all those surrounding cities is crazy for roadway congestion. Making a connector that goes from say Polk county I4 to Sarasota or Lee county would cut major travel time and give the i4 Hillsborough county area a major congestion reduction.

    • @figmentofurimagination457

      They tried that. It was going to be a toll road called the Heartland Parkway and would start on I-75 in Fort Myers and end on I-4 in Northeast Polk County near Disney. DeSantis shut down the plans in April 2021 due to backlash from rural residents and other reasons

    • @mikelemoine4267
      @mikelemoine4267 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Bryce_Fl I think our biggest issue is local transport once you get off the train. We don't have very walkable cities as everything is so spread out. I'd enjoy a monorail ride across town vs. sitting in traffic, but when you have to get in the car to drive to the station and then maybe Uber to the final destination at the other end, it's just easier to go ahead and drive. Maybe they can add some smaller trains like Miami (similar to the Orlando Airport Trams) to spread out around the city more. I'm sure it can be done, it's just a matter of making it convenient, cost effective and easy because we are all spoiled and maybe a little lazy🙂
