The last one, Connie Johnson, people were shocked when her dog just showed up weeks later. I heard they tried to get the dog to lead them back into the woods, hoping Ace would lead them to Connie.. But the dog was too scared/nervous and refused. Really strange. Strange why Connie and Ace would leave the camp site and where was Ace that whole time? Could be he was with Connie’s body and didn’t want to leave it, or he somehow got separated from her and survived long enough to be rescued himself.

Dogs are really loyal. He probably stayed with her until she passed away and then finally after a few days gave up and left her. I'm surprised and sad that the dog couldn't lead them back to her, or that someone didn't recommended bringing in a dog to track her by scent along with her dog since that might have helped her dog to figure out what they wanted it to do.

@@swannoir that’s actually a good idea and I wonder if they considered that. I know initially they tried regular tracking dogs but they couldn’t find a scent. Connie’s case was featured on missing 411, and most 411 cases the dogs can never find a scent or right after the person disappears, there’s some kind of weather event where they’ll have to stall the search.

*Nowadays we all know what most likely happened to the Roanoke colony, but everyone is too scared of being non-PC to say it, and to sponsor proving it.*
At the time, that colony was the "invasive species" and the natives were the most likely ones to suffer from that "invasive species", and the most likely ones to benefit from capturing them.
At the times those people had almost no experience with natives, and most of them likely would have only known to call the natives Croatoan.
Sadly, being PC takes precedence over facts nowadays, so nobody wants to conclude that, and the ones who do get shot-down immediately as racist. Even though there was nothing racist about the natives wanting to extinguish this known-unknown category of threat.
Even though even now many tribes kill people because they are the type of threats that are classified as "known-unknowns"

It's heartbreaking and also makes me so angry how often foster parents turn out to be the abusers and murderers of foster children. So much so that I've got to the point of believing they become fosterers purely to have access to children. That's unfair to the good foster parents but shit, they seem to be getting more and more rare.

It's really is horrifically sad. Speaking of Kamloops, about 40 years ago or more, when I was in my early 20s, a very attention getting babynapping took place there. Apparently someone had gained access to the baby's room, taken her and gotten out of the house without rousing the parents. There was a lot of high strangeness about the event (the father was sleeping on the floor of the baby's room at the time, so how was it that he wasn't awakened? And no ransom ever demanded. No known enemies of the couple. Etc) Then after a couple days of searching, the baby's body was found on the mud flats (an area along the river's shore which became exposed during the fall and winter as the water volume lessened. After that, nothing more was heard. No one knew if the police were investigating or who they were looking at or anything. It was just radio silence. About a year after this happened I was working as a bartender at a local hotel (I was living in a small town about an hour away from Kamloops, but I'd grown up in Kamloops) and I got to chatting with a customer who'd been one of the investigating officers. We asked him about the case, and he said everyone knew what had happened but someone somewhere pulled some strings to put the kibosh on the story. He said that the cops knew that it was the mother; she'd been suffering mental health issues, but the husband's family didn't want any notoriety so she never got any help. She'd accidentally killed the baby and the husband had taken the baby, left it on the river bank and then they called the police some hours later to say she'd been kidnapped. All very sad....
I was going out with the baby's uncle about the time I found out what had happened. That kind of put a damper on things. So nowadays when I hear that a child, toddler, baby has just "disappeared", I always suspect the family. You never know.

The Kenny Veach case has always intrigued me. Another guy has attempted to follow his foot steps to try and find this mysterious cave that Kenny spoke of. He's found a couple of places, but thinks it may have been covered up, not naturally. He can't open or move rocks because apparently that's a crime in that area (something about not disturbing the natural things as it's considered a preservation area). Kenny could so easily have decided to end his own life as there are stories of him suffering from depression and not doing so well in his career ventures, and that if he wanted to disappear he knew enough that nobody would ever find him. Or we could go down the rabbit hole and there really is a cave, he got too nosy and interested in something he shouldn't be interested in and was taken/made to disappear etc. I feel so bad for this guy. It seems he just wanted to be happy but had demons (metaphorical ones) that stopped him from living the life he wanted.

You should do another one of these iceberg disappearance videos because there are so many that were missed, including the case of Lars Mittank. I know you did a short video back in the early days, but this one just really bothers me, how he just ran from the airport into the woods never to be seen again. If someone was hiding/wondering around an airport, in most countries, for security reasons they would be located rather quickly. He was so genuinely afraid for his life that he ran off, was he really in trouble or was it just a mental illness starting to appear? These kinds of cases are why I would be ok with having a tracking chip placed in myself (heck I have one on my cat for that reason), how people can just vanish and we never find one trace of them is just something so haunting and scary. My heart goes out to their families.

The 3 brothers have been missing for just shy of a decade. Every Thanksgiving, all the local news channels cover the case (the boys went missing at Thanksgiving).

Regarding Mayumi Arashi I was thinking in the lines of postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis? And for the note “Don’t believe what Yoko says” I became curious if the father, or possibly the mother, suffered from dementia. It’s quite common that the spouse of someone suffering from dementia writes notes as a reminder for all sorts of things that the dementia patient forgets. Some can be pretty hurtful, as going through a loss of someone close time and time again, and a spouse may have wanted to spare them from that.

Cave diving is dangerous and Vortex had a gate on that opening before Ben got in. He was seen as skilled enough by the staff that they didn't stop him from going in though. Returning his body would actually bring good press, not bad. Body recovery from cave systems is dangerous but admirable.
I personally think Ben stumbled onto a deeper part of that cave. It's been theorized to actually go much farther than what is recorded. He may have gotten disoriented and trapped in an undiscovered chamber. He was a skilled diver and may have thought he could handle more exploration, but I think his recent life troubles may have clouded his judgment of the risks involved.

I've seen several cases, with very big rewards which are.... Odd, in my opinion. the circumstances around the disappearances, seem to point to the parents/family members oftentimes but there's not enough evidence. So, my point is, when a parent or family member knows exactly what happened to their child/victim, they offer BIG rewards because 1. They know they'll never find them so they're not paying a dime and 2. By offering a big reward you're "showing" how much you "care" for your child/family member so the suspicion will never point on your direction. IDK, these parents acting all chill when a child goes missing will never sit well with me. Just my theory.

30:50 There are some details about Daylenn Pua that you should really mention about that case. The path he was on is closed to the public because it is falling apart and very delapidated. It was built during WW2 for a radio station at the top of the mountain. That being said it does not mean you cannot simply jump a gate and get onto it. In fact theres many points where you can get onto it. That man in the background was found and interviewed, he was a botanist who was collecting samples. This is the most likely scenario, he was climbing the trail, lost his footing and fell off. Nobody knows where he landed, the hikers that heard him a couple of days later couldnt figure out where he was either. He must have died before being rescued.

He actually approached from the moanalua side of the mountain, not the typical kaneohe side. That back trail is very dangerous - sheer cliffs and strong winds, easy to get lost if you take the wrong path. Plus he went solo. Look up Moanalua Valley Trail (Kulana'ahane). RIP Moke boy

The Kenny Veech case always struck a chord with me. Back in 2005 I was in that area and had a weird experience with a cave.
A group of 3 of us were exploring and had poked our heads into a few caves without issue. Then we found this one cave that had a semi hidden entrance, couldn't see it until we were almost on top of it. Took a few steps inside, then suddenly all of us felt a sudden sense of impeding doom. Couldn't tell you why but we just knew we had to leave immediately and we turned around and ran.
We were 3 teenage boys (not exactly the most cautious demographic) and all had a fair bit of outdoors experience but something about that cave just chilled us to the bone. Obviously i cant say for sure but i think it might have been the "M cave" he talks about.
Dont like thinking about what might have happened if we'd stayed any longer.
(And yes i know this sounds like BS. Might be a coincidence but every time i see the videos of him talking about it i feel like it was the same place. Either way I'm never going looking for it again.)

McCann case: Mother says they are responsible parents. Responsible parents don't leave their children alone. I don't care how close they were or how often they checked on them. I think poor Madeline is no longer with us.

“Don’t leave their children alone”…” I don’t care how close they are”
So… you think they need to be within a foot of every kid at all times? Stay up all night? Never take out the trash without taking all the kids along… never cook without forcing every kid to sit in a circle right next to the stove… take them all out holding hands to mow the lawn…
If the kids are asleep, and you’re checking on them in person every 15 minutes, that honestly sounds MORE diligent than being asleep and not checking on them for 5 or 6 hours, in my opinion. And I’m hardly going to say parents should just not sleep the first 10 years of their kid’s life. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This case is very weird for a lot of reasons. Kate McCann has refused to answer something like 40 questions put to her. If you're not guilty and have nothing to hide why would you refuse to answer questions? I believe Madeline's blood was found in the boot of a car Kate hired. Sure kids have accidents and even blood noses but why in the boot? I believe that's one of the questions she won't answer. Another weird thing is how much media coverage there's been of the case and how much taxpayer money has been spent on the search for Madeline. Many kids have gone missing since but within a month there won't be any more coverage. Why is there still so much coverage for this child and not others? Why has the government handed over so much money for searches so many times? Why don't they do that for all missing children? There's just something really unusual with almost every aspect of this case. Personally I don't trust the McCann's.

@bookcat123 If you're in the same home as them and someone breaks in, you're very likely to hear them. Being at a crowded place having drinks, where you can't see or hear them is trash parenting and it's actually terrifying people compare the 2 and think her parents were good parents.

these were really young children and the parents and friends were at the restaurant a good several minutes walk away. They did not have full views of the place they were staying at from the restaurant table, and there was another access point to the apartment that could not be seen from where they were sitting. The child was 4-5 years old for goodness sakes! You don't leave kids that age unattended. They WERE irresponsible parents. I can't fathom going to a separate building several minutes walk away leaving such a young child, with even younger twins in the apartment. No, you don't do that if you are responsible.@@bookcat123
