I told my vet of how I healed my dog from constant UTI’s by giving her kefir, kombucha, cultured vegetables and apple cider vinegar. My vet looked at me like I had three eyes. Too funny eh. Anyways thank you for all that you do and for sharing so freely. Take care and God Bless, Paul Le May. Canada. 😎🇨🇦
Hi Roma! They do best with dairy kefir overall. Water Kefir isn't as powerful probioticly as milk kefir and doesn't contain as many healing properties. They also might not like it as much as they do the milk kefir. I don't have any specific healing stories for animals with water kefir at the moment.
@@CulturedFoodLife I've been giving our horses water kefir over their grain everyday. One of the older ones has been able to put on some weight and he is much calmer. I didn't think the milk would go over well for the horses.
I've been making milk kefir since February, and was excited to try it with my Golden Retriever, Lily. She wouldn't touch it. It's too sour, and the smell is unappealing, I guess. I've added honey to it, which is about the only way she'll lap it up. So, occasionally, I just put the kefir grains right into her food and mix it in. Maybe I could add some beef broth or bouillon cube and second ferment it to make it more palatable for Lily.
Hi Debbie! Some tips: Every dog is different, mine are a bit pickier with kefir and dont always like it. My daughters dog LOVES it no matter what form he gets it, he hovers around her while she makes it haha. make sure you kefir isnt over fermented I found that if i let my kefir go too long and it is OVERLY sour even her dog wont drink it. Also definetly mix into something they enjoy, the kefir grains are great for her too! We often mix in beef broth or something tasty with the kefir for pickier dogs. Also keep in mind they don't need a lot. Even a couple tablespoons is helpful. They can certainly have more (after you build them up) but they dont have to have huge amounts. ~Donna
If they have dairy I bet you could. I haven't heard of anyone doing cockatiels yet though. Here is some more information: www.culturedfoodlife.com/probiotic-pets/
I don't have a cat personally , BUT I get a lot of testimonials saying kefir has helped cats and just about any type of pet! Not all cats like kefir so you can mix in some tuna or broth or something they'll enjoy with it :)
Love these ❤testimonies
