I purchased my original kefir grains from Donna and years later still using them! This stuff is in my life for ever! The kefir makes your gut HAPPY as well as all other benefits.
Thanks for another great video. I make kefir every few days and I do drink it every day. Been doing it for about 30 yrs. Wow, how time flies. I have systemic Candida that is pretty much on the back burner. I was terrified to use it at firs but my health was failing in spite of all the remedies I had been doing for many years. Im soooo much better drinking Kefir but definitely not completely free of Candida. I also make water kefir for my daily smoothies. I use many different modalities for my health and Im about 96% good but if I could not get kefir I would be in a world of hurt. I have been doing the SIBO yogurt for 6 months now and I believe it has addresses many lingering issues. Happy fermenting to y'all.
I drink a cup once in the morning and once before I go to bed. I'm a different person. It's amazing. With the whey I strain it and add it to my kids fruit juices they drink. Its great method to incorporate bacteria to my children. Also make kefir butter. Put in heavy cream for 24hrs strain the kefir out. Place the heavy cream that you strained out in a air tight jar and shake till you have butter. ❤
I am SO excited to see how this helps me. I've been dealing with autoimmune issues, food sensitivities, blood sugar and blood pressure instability, fatigue, hormonal imbalances and dizzy/nauseous days, and severe allergies to mold that no one around me has reactions to in my home and even the office I work in. It's been so bad that I've had to sleep on the couch and avoid taking a normal shower, and never dusting anything in the office. The sinus headaches are bad enough that I throw up. We're actually going to ozone the house tomorrow. I can occasionally access trustworthy raw A2 milk, but for now I've been able to successfully start my grains this week with goat's milk from the store, even though it's ultra pasteurized, and have just been able to start drinking it the last few days. Trying to take it slow so i don't get horrible die off reactions, but it I just keep going back with my little teacup for more. 😂Looking forward to having some wonderful turnaround stories to tell. ❤️
@@marieanne8317 I just started. But I have not had a single GERD attack or heartburn attack since I started. That was around six weeks ago. I love it and drink around a quart a day. lol I make mine with raw milk as I belong to a local herdshare. I make my own with grains I got online. I drink it plain because I love it that way but you can flavor it. I just have not found a good way to flavor it.
@@ernestinebyrne9912 ahhh okay thank you 🙏🏽 I’ve been using it for 1 month and am still getting acid reflux :( I’m going to try for longer but also add betaine hcl into the mix hopefully that might give it an extra push
What strains are in non-dairy kefir? I do alternate my grains between organic milk and non-dairy without rinsing them so there are traces of dairy in my almost non-dairy kefir. I was told not to consume much dairy so I've been giving away the milk kefir I make.
Im planning to make a 5 gallon kombucha i just dont know how many tea bags n cups of sugar plus to flavor it like a pineappple kombucha do i cut it all and place the frhit with skin in a big 5 gallon
I have a 2 gallon jug. I follow a Kombucha Guide , just google it and look at images on google and its a green/blue guide.title is Kombucha Guide. And it goes up to 5 gallons. I always just check it every time I make it.
I use the whey to make marinades for the chicken, I let the chicken overnight in the fridge soaked in the whey with some salt and may be some soja sauce, some herbs, depending on the inspiration of the moment I also give it to my dog or to the plants, as I make a lot of kefir and cheese I have a lot of whey
You don’t need raw milk, although that may be best. You can use regular whole milk from the grocery store, make sure it does NOT say “ultrapasteurized” just get the kind that says “pasteurized”
Donna, I am looking for the link of all the bacteria and yeast you said are in kefir which you noted at the end of your podcast. Can you please reply with it? Thank you.
Literally just got back from a walk with my father. I spent 45 minutes pitching it. It’s amazing how people won’t listen to loved ones who try helping them Hence, why I’m watching yet another Donna Schwenk video
I was the same. My husband and have been drinking kefir for 8 years (every day). I stopped telling my friends and family about it because they don’t seem to listen. Now I just wait for people to ask and I’m always happy to share.
If a person is allergic to milk the person would not be able to drink milk kefir, nondairy kefir is recommended. But if a person is lactose intolerant they will be able to consume milk kefir with no problem.
What is she allergic to specifically in the milk? The lactose? Because the kefir grains will eat most of them. Most people with milk allergies can handle milk kefir, but it's best to always start small and test for a reaction. Milk kefir is anti inflammatory. You could even try a skin test to see if there is a reaction. Always err on the side of caution and start with a tsp at a time for one day and look out for any adverse reactions. If you are unsure, try seeking a holistic doctor or naturopath who can guide you

Thank you so much Donna for tirelessly promoting these miracle foods.
Kefir has helped me with acute acidity and food allergies like nothing else has.

@BeingJenniRae lol it's the healthiest at least. Ty I hope you try to make a batch your self.

Just got my grains today and in the process of reviving. Wish me luck.
I had indigestion, acid, and extreme esophagus issues and kefir made it all go away. Plus I truly see it as a treat every day.
I have GERD and found out I have a gastric ulcer. I began drinking milk kefir and I just tend to heal both.

How much do you drink per day?
And at what time?
Thanks for having such an amazing channel which is a great health resource for everyone! :)
Start with one cup a day. Gradually increase to 2 if you like. Try having a glass in the morning and one at night if you like
I have been straining my kefir and eating it like yogurt, and I haven't been using the whey. Is the kefir still beneficial without the whey?
Yes, they will not contain the good bacteria, but look at a way you can use both
How does Kefir lower blood pressure? Does it produce magnesium in the body or tryptophan? I was really exhausted after having kefir this morning.
Potassium lowers BP. Getting plenty of potassium - leafy greens, celery, beets, potatoes, etc, can help lower high BP.
@@alisonbamford6723 But I don't want to lower m3u blood pressure. It is already on the loe side.
Do you think kefir could help with skin issues like psoriasis?
Yes totally as long as you heal the gut and it’s does not leak. I had psoriasis on my entire body and kefir is a life saver.

I sometimes strain the whey as well. Am I missing out on any benefits when doing this?
It’s a great protein. I’m not an expert, but I’m certain you can research ways to utilize it. I bet Donna has a video on it

The best way to convince them is when you start changing the way you feel! Feel great and it becomes contagious!!
I just started making it this week, and my plan is to just start making my husband a smoothie every morning without talking about it. ☺️
