idk man it just looks like a Z1000 to me. Am I the only one who thinks they should've doubled down on the single-headlight designs? They were the only ones in the Japanese space doing that aesthetic in a modern fashion, people just opted not to buy them because they were priced too high for what they were.
The neo cbr looks really good.this one looks like some chinese manufacturer copied designs from few bikes(mainly z1000 and streetfighter)and slap it together.
The more modern styling isn't an instant negativity, I'm sure there are audience for both styles. Problem is the retro styling was kind of the CB's selling point. With this design I have a hard time not choosing the MT-10 over this.
Totally agree with you. Getting rid of the classic bike cues for the new insectoid trend is a huge step back. I would have liked to Honda keep the Neo classic looks, update the electronics and rider aids to add things like cruise control and a 6-axis IMU, and perhaps a more recent engine to keep the bike competitive. That's all it really needs.
Too bad the single sided rear swingarm is gone, that is what distinguished the last two cb1000 from the rest of the Japanese manufacturers. This is a safe bet design choice....
Don't thing anybody would, but I think they went with the regular swingarm because they maybe use the same design from the cbr1000, more cost effective@@jawadulkarim9498

Looks like the kawasaki z1000. Honda needs to get back to making some exciting bikes, what happened to making bikes like the NR. Also Honda quality isn't what it used to be. Yeah IMHO I much preferred the previous neo retro styling it looked great this looks more "vanilla" run of the mill. different strokes I suppose. Honda has always gone the safe route so this isn't surprising to me
I am sad it lost the single side swingarm, but I get why. Love this design, just wish honda would make the engines a little more aggressive, like they did with the 750s ptwin
So: - they got rid of the styling, which set it apart from anything else on the market - they replaced it with ultra-generic styling to make it look like a Chinese knock off of a Z1000 - they didn’t bother to upgrade the suspension, a major pain point in the current version - they gave it a tiny increase in power, but still not enough to be competitive with the Yamaha or BMW
It will be cheaper than the yamaha or the bmw (which is actually a lot more than what the base price is once you have even basic options added) They are going for an accessible 1000cc naked. Which it will be.
Sorry but, What? Are we back in 2016? What's going on? Have Honda lost absolutely any passion in their work? I mean really, What are we seeing here? Is that a replica of Kawasaki Z900? Has a single-sided swingarm and still a peach of an engine with real world power and torque. If you are not competing for the top horsepower super-naked like the other manufactures at least give has mere mortals more torque not less!

it's plain boring. they should look at Italian bikes and learn a thing or too about design. i say this being a proudful owner of a cb650r. the hornet 750 is a cb500f with a different engine and this one is just boring for a 1000cc bike
I’ve just bought a Neo-Cafe’….. I knew this bike was in the pipeline but my new bike was at a good price…. Having seen the new bike it reminds me af the Kawasaki’s and now I’ve seen it I don’t regret my purchase. Also, they’d dropped the single sided swing are which added a bit of class in my opinion 👍🇬🇧
I bet the value of your bike just went up. After seeing this abomination, I wonder if people will be running out to get the old model before they disssapear?
I own a '21 CB1000R and it wasn't a hard decision as the retro look is my preference. If I were into the angular style, idk if I could justify going with the Honda when the MT-10, GSX-S 1000, and many others out compete it.
I like it, there's a lot of people who evidently in the comments who had love for the old CB1000 but it never really sold that well (Was that power related? anemic by modern inline 4 standards). would say there are two key things that Honda need to nail here, Power in line with s1000r and price - if they get that right I think it will do well, i'd be very tempted.
Styling is on point, sharp and slightly aggressive as a Hornet should be but at the same time leaves a lot to be desired, not even a belly pan to cover that gap that makes it look like a 300cc. Ducati style headlight definitely came to mind and is a bit of a turn off, Hornets are usually single headlight and unique, not sure what they were thinking there.
CB1000 Hornet..... meh.... I'm a 2020 CB1000R owner and I'm underwhelmed. Is this replacing the CB1000R? If it is, I'm moving away from Honda. I'm looking hard at the new Yamaha MT-09SP.
I am a bit torn after seeing this bike on the video. Heart says, meh. Brain says, Honda didn’t try to go overboard and solidified its position in the sub 150 hp liter nakeds, which I think is more than enough for most average riders. I just hope that this bike’s suspension is not boinky like the cb1000r’s. If it isn’t then this bike will be a hit.
For me it fails because the head light is not round like the previous model and the Neo Cafe Racer range. The exhaust looks huge and ugly. It makes me realise that I need to buy a Honda CB650R with that tucked away exhaust pipe before they stop producing it.
I am a big fan of Honda bikes. It’s all I ride. That being said, this bike is not ugly BUT it’s also nothing to write home about. I hate the way naked bikes expose the gauges out in the wind as if it was an afterthought. It looks to me like the headlights need to go up a couple of inches so that the little bug deflector can hide the dash. Also, not much wind protection available from these nakeds. Give me a nice full faired CBR any day of the week.
It looks ugly AF, lost the single sided arm that was so good looking of the previous CB1000R, and look generic from every angle. TBH a downgrade in looks
I can not say that they will sell a ton of these, Honda and Suzuki is way off the other brands especially when it comes to nakeds. They have a problem with making new fun engines, clinging on to old engines they have used for so many years. I would still much rather have a MT-10 than any of the Honda or Suzuki bikes. Why they do not make a new fun engine to compete with the MT-10 and the nicer hypernakeds is beyond me.
Seems like a new avatar of the fabulous Kawasaki Z1000 of yesteryear. But will be a strong competitor to Suzuki GSX S 1000 which is always deserving and practical naked for any day.

Exactly my thoughts. I’ve still got my 2013 CB1000R. Sold my 2010 Fireblade to buy it and the CB1000R is the more useable bike by a mile, but this new Hornet 1000 is just a cheaper version of the old CB1000R like mine. This would replace my CB919 but.... BUT this hornet 1000 looks like a crashed sports bike from 2011 with a ebay fairing / headlight kit. IM disappointed
can you please show the bike from all sides? I can't find any left side of the bike, all shots are from right side... was trying to find the swingarm to make sure it's double sided...
Looks like a substantially cheaper looking bike than the previous Neo Sport. Given the Hornet name I reckon this will be a more value for money offering than the previous model.
Keen to know if it will have IMU technology (optional or otherwise). Good to see a return to a more angular/insect look as 1st seen on 2009-2018 CB1000R.
i agree, these new (twin cyclinders) are not hornets at all in my opinion.. Also a hornet is a classic looking shape, Like my hornet 250,600 and 919. all classic shaped bikes. THESE new gen hornets look like crashed sports bikes from 2011 with ebay headlight kits.
Used to own and run regularly a Honda CB1000 *"Big One"* slighly underpowered and *WAY* top heavy but way better looking than this and totally solid build good basically forever. Definitely one of the best motorcycles i ever owned and sold it to a really big dude who once he realized how to crank down the rear rebound was overjoyed with the machine which is one of the best Daily Drivers on two wheels ever made.
Finally Honda is building a Kawasaki...

Should that bike be on the Kawasaki stand?

why not? The streetfighter look waa absent for a while now

Wtf is that exhaust 😂😂😂😂
It looks like a z1000. Honda what happened?
Guess Honda had to copy cat the Kawasaki z1000
it looks good but its a little too similar to kawi z1k's
