☝️The chef at the 3rd restaurant just wanted us to clarify that he is NOT wanted for evading taxes. That was Sonny’s humour talking. The chef just didn’t want to be onscreen because he was shy. Thanks 😊
Sounds like something a tax evader would say
@@asura_wrx lets not spread misinformation please 😇

Don’t worry guys, Sonny shared the lobster 🦞 & it was delish!
Thanks for showcasing HK’s dried seafood. Come visit me again soon, would love another fish maw 😝🎉😂

Why did the cook want his face covered?
the owner was like let me answer that for you "sometimes"🤣
that was classic🤣🤣

i love when you put the bloopers in the videos, it’s entertaining and u should keep doing it!

That old lady doesn’t give a f*** about your video. She got things to do and places to be 😂
I love that he left that in lol.
Lol

@@SupperUpper should she care when its a public space and he's filming in the middle of it all? the entitlement some people have 😂
And then Sonny gave her an annoyed look as in "wtf are you doing"? Whereas it's him that's blocking a public space.
205 dollars for a raw lobster.
Forget tourist price,
Sonny is paying the rich people price. 😂
wrrrr
not really, lobsters are actually that price there.
There are different Lobster species that cost a lot less but they chose the most expensive one!
@@jackjhmc820but this type of lobster is the most meatiest, and the most delicious.
@match2012 yes. It does look very meaty! Sadly most usually only go for the cheap ones that are typically included in set meals because the cheaper ones already taste awesome!
Your videos have become my comfort videos when I’m not feeling the best. Seeing a fresh new video early this morning is exactly what I needed. Thank you for your amazing videos!
Love your content! Great originality and consistency. One question , how many times have you been severely unwell from eating street food?
This is one of my favorite channels, educational with many humorous twists. Sonny is the best!
I love watching your videos when I’m doing chemo it always makes the day better.
Hope you get better soon
Hope you get to visit the places in these videos and live it up! Stay strong sir

Sonny I love watching your video's, I am pretty sure I have binged watched all of them. I know when I need a laugh your there. I truly do love watching you and the fact that you eat what ever different tribes eat. oh I absolutely love seafood. Just had to tell you how much I love watching you and I think your hilarious !
Im an oil field welder in Texas and I always watch your videos and enjoy them I also cook a lot and love different cultures not that anybody cares lol
Love your vids sonny 😂❤
To know Sonny was at Lei Yue Mun and I live next to it. It would have been amazing to meet you!! Thanks for showing the world such an amazing place! It is also a lovely place to walk through to the Ma Wan village and unwind from the busy HK lifestyle.
I hope this series continues. Really enjopying it.
Sonny spends over a grand on food, I watched this while having an Aldi minestrone cupa soup, made it taste so much better, great video. Mind you I live on the east coast of Australia near the tail end of the Great Barrier Reef & have tried Abalone & it was ok but we were spoiled for a choice in seafood.
Wow! Congratulations on reaching your goal.🎉
4:32 “look how big those calves are! What is it SAMOAN!” 😂😂 this iguy! lol … Sonny is comedy lol
Man, soooooo many other places to eat in HK, u hit some of the major spots for sure tho....love it!
9:55 "sometimes"😂
😂 best moment of the video
I can only imagine spending $1000 on Seafood! I would eat it every day if I could but instead I watch Sonny doing his thing with his balls😊
The comedy after the cuttlefish barking is gold,. I almost choked man
Love the channel and what you do Sonny!
This series has made me fall in love with Virginia
"Much more AFFORDABLE option at $900" lmfao xD
Loved this episode also! All those deliciously looking seafood! I've eaten those lobster with cheesy noodles and depending on the chef it can be a hit or a miss. Never tried those ultra expensive abalones, the only time I was aware I was eating a medium sized abalone at a wedding I wasn't impressed; just like a bit chewy mushroom and I didn't taste any seafood flavours unfortunately.
i'm always excited when i see a new video from you in my feed!
Thank you for the great video of the $1000 Seafood Challenge in Hong Kong 👍
Sonny: BTW, you pronounce「唔該晒」perfectly! 👏
As always love your video sonny. But i have one question: are the prices in US dollar? Cos if yes its a little bit pricey where you went then.
Currently in HK visiting my fam and everything is sooo cheap
I love Razor Clam with garlic!
It is so happy for me to see Sonny loves it too!
I was struggle to find a word in English that can precisely translate the word “爽”(describing the texture of sea cucumber). It isn’t chewy or crispy.
Ahhhhh, it’s al dente!!!!
precise Cantonese word to describe the abalone would be “軟糯”, literally means soft and sticky-rice-ly(imagine poki, mochi or taro ball, they’re all made with sticky rice)
the editors are killing it with the funny edits XD
I love this channel keep up the good work sonny. Your amazing
the look at 8:19... my entire desk is now full of my drink🤣 don't know why it was so funny
I actually like the chemistry between Sonny and Virginia as she's so polite, unlike from other lead females who acts clingy. I like her on-point elaborations as well, she's a proper food guide explainer ha-ha.
Stop watching dramas you fool this is real world and she is just a food guide
I don’t know what video you’re watching were the females act clingy

The guy in the background at 0:51...Thought he was Han from "The Fast & The Furious" 😂😂
He is the only chef I seen that handles rice noodle correct, not pulling and breaking the strand but just lifting with the fingers and separating from the bunch to a serving
I love seafood and all this looks amazing! 😋🤤
Hby and I would have gotten your guy your number to get it y you you know that
9:43 Why did Sonny touch the abalone like that 😅?
Becoz it won't moan
Sonny, you and your videos are the best!!!
I really really like your vlog bro! I am fan since day one. I really like your video with collaboration of Mark Weinz and Food Ranger and also my co-filipino Chui Show! You all the best ❤👏
In Thailand a bowl with fish balls and slices like that gets sold for 20 baht 0,55 USD haha
The hidden chef because he’s avoiding taxes 😂😂😂
9:26 Jesus Alice, calm TF down…your enthusiasm is over the top! 😂
One day I’ll try it there. Thanks for sharing ❤
That $1000.00 meal looked good but was ridiculous for that amount of food, experience, or not, no way (even if i was filthy rich) would I waste my money on about 4 bites of food.
And that’s your choice but when you spend 250 bucks or more for a five course tasting menu, you actually get decently full. But the food is guaranteed to be the best food you’ve ever had and the service is guaranteed be the best. You’re paying for a lot more than food.
thats why you got a poor man's way of thinking. S1000 is nothing
@@bochapman1058 "but when you spend 250 bucks or more for a five course tasting menu" - That $1000 is ONLY 2 PLATES.
$100 for a Sea Cucumber and Foie gras and ......
$900 for a SINGLE dried abalone and Fish maw. 17:46
This video is amazing❤
I swear on my Life at 8:46 right after that cartoon eye blink , there it is 😂a f#ing AD 🎉🎉
The drying the seafood actually intensified the flavor a lot. It’s not so much about changing the texture: Just like mushroom, very intense and also different flavor after it’s being dried.
Very good. Virginia knows all the good spots!
I'm glad that he does the tasting because, some of the things he has eaten, I would never try. I like how he goes beyond tasting to explain why, he eats some controversial foods and that he does it because of the people traditions. That being said, I wish I was there to eat a bunch of seafood.
I like it when two of my favorite creators do a collaboration!
The table at 12:00 reminds me of the scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where Indy gets the antidote.

I love Chinese food, I just wish I could find a true Chinese restaurant around here☹
The first dish the garnish is in a spoon for those who don’t want it. They can get rid of it before it’s mixed into the broth which makes it a pain to pick out.
Thank you for coming!
then duck meat should be considered sea food too, same as frog
Wow absolutely tasty mouthwatering seafood FEAST 🎉

Wow. I'm a bit perplexed seeing her been mentioned here also Didn’t know she has been good to so many people too this is wonderful, I'm in my fifth trade with her and it has been super.
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Bryan Bayley) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
You trade with Bryan Bayley too?
Wow that woman has been a blessing to me and my family.
I was skeptical at first till I decided to try. Its huge returns is awesome. I can't say much
I'm new at this, please how can I reach her?
hong kong is expensive as heck
Highs and lows in reality. There's a lot of good quality cheap eats bc nearly everyone eats out a lot. The thing is when things get high end it's gonna be really pricey
You eat seafood in a 3-stars restaurant in Central
It's supposed to be expensive as fxxk
Like eating Gordon Ramsey Petrus in London

Beautiful Hong Kong Cantonese food and people.

For an authentic dried seafood experience I would personally recommend the 'Dried Seafood Street' in Des Voeux Rd West, Sheung Wan. As the name suggests it is an entire street filled with shops that sells all sorts of dried seafood delicacies at a more affordable price! On the other hand If you want to eat at a nearby restaurant I would suggest the Sweetheart Chinese Restaurant inside the Ibis hotel, Sheung Wan. It is a less discrete location that serves great dim sum and seafood dishes. Supposedly the owner has a dried seafood shop nearby so the quality is maintained pretty well. For reference a decent and filling meal costs between 20-25 USD (150-200 HKD approx.) per person for a group of 4-6 people.
16:24: I would NOT dare to hold a shatterable plate of oma abalone. LOL
I love seeing these comments saying theyre good like 11 min ago but this vid just posted14min ago and has 20min of content lmao
I guess some people make their comments as the video is running? I do that sometimes and then continue watching after I made my comment, like what I am doing now because I am already impressed 5 minutes into it 😊
I love that you pay attention to such rather than the video itself 😂

Enjoy it as tomorrow will never come. Chills from Minnesnowta!
That abalone 🤤🤤🤤 it looked delicious!!! And a Michelin star chef to cook for you is the best experience. Wow!
14:02, Dried to rehydrated is like trying to eat it when it's FRESH! Only they want to trick you to think it's going to taste better because of the drying time... I've tried dried foods and sure, some dried foods are great but for the "most part" I think fresh is better.
No drying really concentrates the flavor of umami rich foods like shiitake mushrooms, seafoods, some vegetables, salted fish.
It's a tried and true method. Some foods when dried are flavor bombs compared to being fresh. If you've ever had dried shitake or dried shrimps before you'd understand but these are flavor ingredients and not something you eat as the main course. Abalone and fish maw on the other hand are entree ingredients that people eat so they have to be rehydrated or they're inedible.
