    Not only were they excellent live in concert, they were loud. My ears rang for almost two days after seeing them during the 70’s and 80’s.

    Roger is a very under-rated rock drummer....one of the best ! ...............Peace and Love :)

    I love his interviews. He was honest, intelligent, funny, mostly soft speaking, listening to him is a joy. My favourite is when Freddie was interviewed by David Wigg about his solo album in Munich (1985). David was a friend and Freddie was so loose.

    This is their first song, which Queen had record in this formation, told by Brian and Roger over the reacting to this video. Live at The Rainbow 1974 is a really great concert , it ´s a pleasure and joy to watch

    This is a great live song. Unfortunately, this was any incredibly short clip. The song is as old as Queen and always a fan favorite, especially live. Such fun. You absolutely must react to Freddie interviews. He is funny, charming, and brutally honest in a fun way. He was such an introvert, it was hard for him to do interviews. I think he thought he disappointed all the journalists by not being bombastic and outrageous. Such an incredible man and genius. It must have been so hard on him. He loved his job, of making and performing music, but he sure didn't like the limelight.

      Short clip??? 😂 hmm they literally performed an impromptu intro before coming in with guitar intro, performed 2versus and 2choruses, performed an extended middle part and ended with Rogers drum solo, I don’t call that short

    In one interview, Roger said if Freddie stood in front of him, he played the drums much harder.I think you might like Breakthru or Headlong, both great rockers.

    Written by Brian saying he had penned the lyrics thinking them ironic and tongue-in-cheek, but their sense was completely changed when Freddie sang them! The song was conceived on acoustic guitars during practice sessions at Imperial College and the garden at Ferry Road in 1970. At that time Queen had not yet found a permanent bassist .. John Deacon joined Queen in 1971. 👑👑

  • @imweakfordeaky
    @imweakfordeaky 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The song cuts off suddenly like that because it was part of a medley sort of… the improv jam at the very beginning, then a large but incomplete section of “Keep Yourself Alive”, which then cuts into Roger Taylor’s Drum and Tympani solo… followed afterwards by Brian May’s extended Guitar Solo. During these spotlight solos, Freddie and John would both get breaks offstage (Freddie would change clothes, John would refresh himself at his little “backstage bar”)… Brian would take a breather during Roger’s solo, the Roger got his break during Brian’s solo - after all that, they all came back onstage and rocked the venue even louder !
    It was all carefully planned and timed to give each of them a bit of rest/refresh time without interrupting the flow of the show.

    POPE, when you do your next QUEEN reaction to a LIVE performance, check out how stoic and unassuming bassist John Deacon is. He's always the same; never too flamboyant, unassuming, and just doin' his thing, (keeping the beat and rhythm.) The perfect "foil" to his more exuberant bandmates. He's also an excellent bassist! 😄

      Oh now, there were times that John was dancing along… one of his nicknames in the fandom is “Disco Deaky” because of his dancing (more obvious during the 80s than in the 70s). He definitely had his showy moments 😊

    Back in the mid 70's I hung with a band named Blitz for a while. They played bars around the Houston area. This was the last song they would play at 2am every night. Keep Yourself Alive.

    Cut short! But still a thriller! If you are in the mood for a Queen (Freddie & John) R&B vibe, try ONE YEAR OF LOVE (from the film Highlander). Stellar volcals and John on most of the instruments. Different sound but oh you know that voice!

    This was probably part of a medley so it was cut off so as not to go into the next song. This is an excellent song written by Brian May and there are several wonderful, longer, live versions of it available out there. Thank your or your reaction.
