This orchestra is one of the best on TH-cam : fantastic repertoire, wondeful play, great cinematography. That's how you do it if you want people to love orchestral music.
It the DR (Danish equivalent to the English BBC) orchestra, also known as the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, so it's the state owned public service radio and television broadcasting, that produce both very high quality music and TV productions ... there is good reason why Danes pay high taxes and do not really complain too much about it. it's all a matter of the quality of public service you get in return.

Actually we have several orchestra and even a choir but they are pressured all the time and threatened to disapear by ignorant governments. Nevertheless I find they are not really open to the society. When I see the DNSO or even the Proms on the BBC I think there is so much to do, so much music to play.
What I like about this orchestra- no use of electronics- just the way they would have recorded in the days of Vertigo etc. Wonderful to see the instruments used to produce the sounds we hear....
Yet another great performance with Sarah Hick's direction. She has been fantastic in all of the concerts I have seen with her leading the way. I love this selection of music. Bernard Herrmann is one of the best movie composers. Thank you for posting it!
Forgotten masterpiece? In the last poll by Sight and Sound in 2012 (it happens every 10 years), it was voted #1 movie of all time, displacing Citizen Kane.
Scene D’Amour from Vertigo will break your heart. Would have been another excellent choice. Also by Bernard Herrmann - Death Hunt from On Dangerous Ground - absolutely crazy wild music. Or how about his truly creepy whistle tune from Twisted Nerve? Ideas for another concert?

Oh yes, I'm actually surprised, never heard this orchestra before, now I'm hearing it and I'm amazed, it's so well done.
They also performed ‘Taxi Driver’ but sadly it’s not available anymore ... I’m hoping it’ll be uploaded again ..

I know Herrmann is recognized as one of the great film composers. Even then, he is underrated...
